My husband and I rent a Star RV Polaris 1 for half a month and we really had a wonderful experience. I don’t review often but I do want to review this company because I met their best stuff- Vinay, and I appreciate his help. I’m really anxious before returning the car, because we had a lot of things to pack up and the time is tight. When we arrived at the drop off point, Vinay came to say hello with a big smile and expressed such an understanding and kindness. His professional and modest attitude really helped us a lot! I’m so relieved to speaking with him. He deals with our order fast and professionally, making everything logistical and clear. In a word, he makes our experience in Star RV more than happy. We had a fantastic experience with our campervan. It was comfortable, clean, and economical to run. Communication with Star/Jucy was excellent, and we loved that it was dog-friendly, making it easy to bring our furry friend along for the adventure. The flexible payment options with Afterpay and no bond made it really affordable too. Hands down the best way to see New Zealand – freedom, flexibility, and beautiful scenery at every stop. Highly recommend!

We had an incredible experience in our Polaris 6! The RV was spotless, had low kilometres, and was packed with fantastic amenities. It felt spacious and well-designed, offering plenty of room to relax and enjoy the journey. Driving the van was a breeze – smooth, responsive, and surprisingly easy to handle for its size. Highly recommend for anyone looking to explore in comfort and style!
Had a great experience with StarRV! Polaris 2 was an amazing vehicle. Took in from Auckland to Queenstown. When we needed an oil change they provided us with a Polaris 6 for the last 2 days of our rental period. Overall satisfied with their service as well as the condition of the Polaris 2 vehicle. Heating was also a plus during the shoulder season. Would definitely rent again with these guys.
The service & motorhome was brilliant
The service from Yana was brilliant, and the quality of the motorhome, everything was working and explained to us well. We saw really bad reviews so we were skeptical, but it turns out that wasn't the case whatsoever, we had a great experience. We rented from Hobart, Australia.
We just returned from an incredible one-week trip through the Far North of New Zealand in the Star RV Polaris 6, and it was absolutely perfect for our family of four (including two young kids)! From start to finish, the experience was seamless, comfortable, and packed with adventure. The Polaris 6 had everything we needed—ample space, a well-equipped kitchen, cozy beds, and a smooth ride that made even the longer drives enjoyable. The kids loved the freedom of having their own sleeping area, and we appreciated the modern amenities that made life on the road so easy. Exploring the Far North in an RV was a game-changer—we woke up to breathtaking coastal views, parked near stunning beaches, and had the flexibility to explore at our own pace. The Star RV team was fantastic too, providing clear instructions and excellent customer service. If you’re considering an RV trip in NZ with family, Star RV is the way to go. We’ll definitely be booking with them again for our next adventure! Highly recommend!
Our entire experience with Star RV was so great! We started in Christchurch & dropped off in Auckland. Our drop off was easy, and the staff were very helpful. Our Polaris 6 was perfect for the four of us, very spacious and had everything we would ever need for a two week trip around New Zealand. The shuttle service is

Recently spent the entire month of March 2024 renting/living in a 6 person Nova Polaris traveling in New Zealand. The motorhome was new and in excellent condition. There were 4 of us traveling. We were very comfortable, loved the amenities the vehicle provided. It does help to be an experienced motorhome traveler. Managing water, knowing how things work especially the 3 way refrigerator (which loved to default to battery at random times), etc. is important to having a great vacation. As owner of Airstream travel trailer in the USA for past 7 years, that experience was heavily utilized. The reason I state this is you do not get good introduction upon renting to the systems found in the motorhome and need to read the owner manuals almost everyday to figure stuff out. Thankfully, I only had to read the 3 way frig and TV manuals to sort out some errors. Highly recommend traveling NZ in a motorhome. You will enjoy the freedom and being able to go places others cannot.
Easy pick up, but the lady how instructed us how to use the camper was too hurried. The van was ok.

We took our van back to Star Rv this morning, thankfully we had stayed pretty local to the Auckland area so it wasn't too much of a hardship for us. Upon arrival we were met by Cameron who was completely apologetic and understanding and said there was a new van waiting for us, just being cleaned. Thankfully we had this option. This van is immaculate, cleaned well, and has barely got a mark on it. Credit to Star RV for sorting us out. Thanks a million! Much more what we had in mind for our 3 week trip :) We picked this motorhome up having travelled for 32hrs so were a little tired when we picked it up. We have had 4 motorhomes in the past, same size as currently renting, and also rent out a motorhome privately back at home. If I had rented this one out to someone, I would be extremely embarrassed. RV is filthy, hair and crumbs all over bed, cushions all stained, roof grubby with marks, previous customers items in the van, windows filthy, the vehicle check sheet was not completed, and upon arriving at our first camp site, at least one of the tyres is bald (illegal). This is a vehicle that has done 175,000km, this is not what was advertised on your website, we have paid A LOT of money to hire a high spec, deluxe RV and this is not what we have received. Over 70 marks/scratches/dents on the bodywork, and fibreglass cracks, including the roof which can be seen internally as well. I very much doubt this van would be water tight. Camping chairs are broken, hook up cable tangled. Extremely disappointed. Will be bringing the van back to the office first thing tomorrow.
