Solid Solidcore studio. Staff was super nice, instructors were interactive and hands-on with corrections, and everyone in the class was super chill. The class before me did a great job wiping down the machines as well, so felt very safe doing the exercises.

This is a huge location and all the machines are in good condition. It's such a good workout and the instructors are so helpful.

"Hard but fun"

I've been here a number of times to this chain studio.
Love this location because it's near my house and what the hell else is out here in Alphabet City for fitness. a lame gym. The part of the NYC world is more for drinking than fitness

Although I usually eschew chains for local businesses.
I gotta say that I like this place.

What's to high 5

- clean and modern

- machines are in great shape

- friendly, drive instructors

- a challenging workout

What's the lowlights

- lockers are perpetually broken

- it's heavy on the estrogen

I normally just pick up & put down weights for my workouts (I benched 225 for one rep one time, haha), but when my girlfriend wanted to do a solidcore class I thought I would come and mog her really quick.

I had done one class years ago, but for all intents and purposes this was my first one.
Shoutout to the instructor Amina Summers, walking the beginners clearly through everything before class, she made it so easy to be a first timer here.

Y'all ladies are NOT playing in here goddamn, what a fantastic workout.
If I had the money to do this 5 times a week and go on a couple runs here and there, it would be OVER for y'all.

By the end of class, I was amidst the ambiance engulfed by dimmed blue lighting, Amina screaming into her little Britney Spears mic "WHO DO YOU WANT TO BE?
DON'T GIVE UP ON YOURSELF!" while doing deep lunges on the reformer on completely wobbly legs. Jello legs. I look over and all these girls are just repping them out completely unphased. I just had to tip my cap, I got beat. I was WHOOPED after this class.

I was being a little dramatic just now, Amina was the perfect level of trying to motivate people without doing the most.
I hate when workout class instructors do the MOST.

I try to immerse myself in the culture of wherever I am, so you know I had to take a mirror selfie of me flexed up on the reformer after class.
Life comes at you fast, one minute you're mr cool guy and the next you're taking a thottie little mirror selfie in solidcore of you and your girlfriend.

If you want to see results, then stick w this class. At first it can be annoying, and confusing, but eventually you figure it out. I work out a lot but this class def gets you core results, and fast. That's the main reason I stuck w the program.

Pretty spacious studio out by Alphabet City. The space is pretty narrow like most stores, with two bathrooms available right by the entrance. The machines are fairly new as well, but they are unfortunately placed too close together for my comfort. I love that Target and Trader Joe's is a stone's throw away and the studio is located right across from the 1st Av (L) train station. Super convenient location!

I would've gone to EV more often if the L train functions correctly!

But all the time that I went, I love the instructors here. They're all very beginner friendly and gives you great queue. I also find the loudness of the music vs the instructor bearable. Some studios the music is loud and the instructors are yelling at the same time, therefore hard for me to focus.

Highly recommend Milan H., Amina S. Both great instructors with great vibes!

Solidcore lived up to the hype!

I've been hearing about how hardcore Solidcore is, that I made a mental note to brace myself prior to going.

This particular location was small, with bathrooms right as you walk in to the right, and then the check-in counter, followed by the locker area.

The workout room itself, was beautiful and modern looking. When class started, the lights dimmed to a calming blue that made me feel both focused and like I'm at a club. Our instructor also played popular pop remixes to get us powered to work!

Fortunately, the workout wasn't as crazy fast-paced as I imagined it would be. Instead, there were still slow paced pilates moves. There was a ton of back to back moves with just the reformer machines, and I loved how the class made sure to focus on every part of the body. There was a dedicated arm dumbbell section towards the end.

Despite the great ventilation, I still left sweating, and my body, super sore everywhere, only a couple hours later. Pilates experience or not, the workout is perfectly doable, since the instructor gives different alterations depending on your fitness level. With a fantastic patient instructor who cares for the newcomers, a beautiful space, and a great workout, I'd come again!

Took my first [solidcore] class here recently and loved every minute of it!

Since it was my first class with [solidcore], I came a little earlier before class to get myself oriented. The instructor was very friendly and welcoming and she made sure that the newbies (me and another girl) were situated in between regulars so we would be able to see demonstrations of what each movement should look like.

As for the class itself, be prepared to do a ton of slow and controlled low impact movements. Don't be fooled by the words "slow" and "low impact" - this was one of the most challenging (and rewarding) workout classes I've been to. The instructor came around and made adjustments to help with form and needless to say, my muscles were trembling by the end of the class.

Overall, I had a great time at [solidcore] and will definitely be returning!

The lady at the check in was super helpful and accommodating. She sorted us after we had issues booking on ClassPass. The class was great, coach Emily was superb - very clear and helped with form
