[solidcore] is a high-intensity, low-impact strength training workout on a custom-built reformer machine. It utilizes slow, controlled movements to push your muscles to the point of failure in order to build back stronger.
I've been going to Solid Core twice a week for just over a year. I absolutely love the quality of the workout and the consistency of the instructors. The workout is intended to get you to muscle failure - so it's not easy. It's very fitness focused - not a place you hang out and socialize. (Although everyone is friendly and there is a good vibe) 50 minute class that really works multiple muscle groups. Instructors give you options and alternatives depending on your fitness level - so it's never 'one size fits all'. There is free parking. One lot is used for weekdays and a separate lot on weekends. Both are in close proximity to the studio.
Lookin for a way to get really real about your body and strength??? Step right up to [solidcore]. I am not trying to scare anyone away as they offer and accept adjustments. The time goes by so unbelievably fast.
The instructors are so positive and engaging.
No matter the fitness level, give it a try and just move how your body allows
SolidCore Pilates has been an amazing experience! The coaches are incredibly informative and always prioritize safety by asking about injuries before class. I really appreciate that they offer modifications for all exercises, which is so helpful whether you're new or working with an injury. Highly recommend!
I've been going here for several months and have been taking classes with several different instructors and I can't recommend enough! It's challenging in the best way that I can't achieve in my normal weightlifting exercise. Cami, Sydney, and Amanda are some of my favorite instructors - they toe the line between pushing you without being overbearing really well that makes it challenging but still fun.
Finally tried Solidcore after getting a new client 4-pack and have really enjoyed the classes so far! This review is specifically for the Starter50 series. The instructors are so welcoming for newbies! They demo the form and movements and walk around to fix your form as well. They lay a good foundation for what to expect in a signature class, and the workout is still crazy intense. Even after just a couple classes I feel stronger! The space itself is clean and well-kept, with nice restrooms and locker space. Fair warning, if you buy the 4 pack you are no longer eligible for the new client 2 week unlimited - I wish I knew that ahead of time and probably would have gotten the unlimited deal. Will be back and excited to try the regular full body classes soon!
Love the coaches and how good I feel after a workout! Still new, but I appreciate the feedback I get and how caring they are. Every workout does kick my butt, but I always go back
I took my first solidcore class at this location and it was HARD. Definitely the hardest workout I've ever engaged in (including conditioning for competitive cheer). This is truly a full body workout and the coach talks you through everything. Will be signing up for more pain
I can't tell if Solidcore is just not the workout for me as its vibe is loud, club, dim lights and fast fast paced. I've been twice, both times on a ClassPass credit, my friend who has a membership toggles between frequenting the Triangle and Domain location as we both work up north, and she loves it.
I'm a bit more chill, laid back and these days doing workouts, wanting to challenge myself and dedicate time to putting myself first, trying boutique studios with mega reformers, which are daunting and offer friendly coaches and great playlists that hit.
The first time I showed up here, was on a lunch workday session, where the instructor showed up 1 minute before class started? I didn't get an overview of understanding cues, format and studio sessions groundwork of how the classes should go, winged it and copied and tried to follow what my friend was doing. A lot of people standing around wondering what to do, which was such a strange vibe. It was rushed and ended later too since we're behind but I thought to try again once more.
Today I had a session with coach Kendall and she brought the vibes and energy to cheer me along! I loved it, plus with this 7am Saturday class being extra gloomy and grey outside, she was so fun and offered a friendly newbie where to go, and frequent hands on correction, all the things you'd expect from a studio for the price point and smaller class size.
I don't think this is the workout for me tho - the classes in the studio are extra loud, dark and the blue lights are dim like a club lol - which if you're into making the class a night out but for improving your fitness, this is it. For my mid 30's self in my mom suburban chill life, maybe not so much ha :)
All around I still had a very challenging time, and appreciated that the 50 mins flew by!
WOW! I am SO sore... in the best way! One intro class and I already feel my muscles working overtime. I've done reformer pilates but this is definitely a step up. Currently heading in for my second class and I'm nervous (in a good way kind of)
update: just finished my second class! I am even more sore now (to be expected). I've only done 2 classes now but I can already tell that if you want quick results, this is the way to go.
Solidcore is intense. If you're not into pushing your limits and consistently showing up on time, it might not be your cup of tea. But if you're looking to uplevel your game, this place delivers.
I've been a dedicated Solidcore member for several years now. I first tried it through ClassPass and was immediately hooked. I love the intensity level, the fact that it never gets easy, the dark lights, the loud music, lots of EDM, no official breaks during class and the constant mindset and form commentary from the coach. I also love that it tones my whole body and especially my core without bulking.
The late cancellation fee - honestly, I love it--it's just enough of a motivator to make sure I show up for myself. It's a great way to stay accountable.
If you're new to reformer Pilates, I highly recommend starting with a Foundations class or just be ok to not be 100% on the ball for your first 5 classes - you'll get used to the new moves and that's all part of learning something new.
Get there a bit early, account for parking (they do have free parking - at Amli Garage on weekdays before 5PM - entrance on Lavaca and at city hall garage after 5PM and on weekends - entrance on Guadalupe - as of 10/2024) and introduce yourself to the instructor, ask questions, and get familiar with the equipment. Watching a few intro videos beforehand can also be a big help. And know your door code. Socks and towel optional. Put your gear into the pit or use a locker.
The instructors I've had have been consistently good, with some being truly exceptional. Each class brings a different challenge--some are hard, others are insanely hard--so just choose your level of intensity. Stay on your knees for your plank variations for your first few classes.
One more tip: if you're more than 5 minutes late, the doors lock automatically, so plan accordingly. And have fun!
solidcore is my favorite workout and workout class to attend. I've been going 2-3x times a week for almost a year now and don't see myself stopping anytime soon!
Parking - offer validated free parking either at the Amli garage or city hall grade depending on day/time.
Studio - the studio is small and doesn't have showers/ammenities which is the main complaint, but I go straight home after classes so it doesn't bother me.
Price - classes are EXPENSIVE but worth it in my opinion as you know you're getting a good workout.
Coaches/classes- i love the positive attitude coaches have. they are very thoughtful in their language and how they motivate you to feel your best. I love these classes but they are HARD every single time - you increase your resistance as you take more classes so it never gets easier. I feel challenged every time and I know I'm getting a good work out, but it's also enjoyable and I love coming back.
The best and most addicting workout!! Solidcore, you have my heart! I've been coming for 2+ years and the coaches are seriously some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. I love the branding, and it makes working out actually fun.
Can't say enough good things about this studio and its coaches - I'm approaching 50 classes and I've never had a single bad experience. Don't hesitate, it's a fantastic workout with motivating people who care about your experience.
Attended the Starter50: Intro to [solidcore] class with Lauren and it was wonderful. Lauren was energetic and very helpful giving step by step instruction, as well as offering modifications throughout the class. I'm glad that this location began to offer this class as sometimes when I am in the regular classes, there is almost no instruction and you simply move from position to position without knowing how to do it properly. Will definitely be returning to take some more classes with Lauren and hopefully build a better pilates foundation.
I signed up for the 2 week trial and have been to 6 classes so far, most of them at the domain location but one at this one and they've been incredible! These workouts are TOUGH I'm sweating less than 10 minute in but I love that they're high intensity and low impact so it's not like I can't breathe doing burpees but more like my legs are quaking and I'm going to topple over. The instructors are super high energy in the best way possible, facilities are clean and parking isn't too bad. I'd love to sign up for their monthly classes once my trial ends but their prices feel out of my budget even with a student discount.
First time at Solid Core while in town for a wedding.
Parker was amazing, walked me through the machine and what class would be like. She was hands on to help form. The class was super fun, energetic and a great work out! Wish there was one in my home town!
First time [solidcore] participant and Erin made me feel super welcome with personal attention, instruction and recognition.
The class is hard even with the lower beginner spring settings. Fast paced, so you never get bored and you're just about to fail one muscle set before you start the next.
Convenient downtown validated parking (2 hours) made this accessible as well. Looking forward to my next visit!
I have been attending solidcore downtown for a couple years now and absolutely love this studio. Reading the other negative reviews, yes there is a strict 5 minute policy where you're not allowed to join class and will be charged a no show fee, however this is due to requiring the warm up critical for the rest of class. Street parking can be challenging however there is complimentary and validated FREE parking less than a block away (unusual for a downtown studio to do this!) I love the classes and am constantly challenged by the supportive instructors in a good way :) such a great workout!
I go to a Solidcore studio in Philly - was traveling for work l so I decided to try it out. It was a really “solid” work out. I saw some negative reviews on the studio here, and I didn’t have the same experience. I also am familiar with the importance of being on time, the policy for being charged no show fees etc. while I don’t love the strictness of the Solidcore policies in general, it sets an expectation for understanding that you need to be on time. Anyway, great experience.
Loved taking Kathleen’s class! It was my first Solidcore experience and now I’m hooked. Great music, and Kathleen had the best energy. I can’t wait to take another one of her classes!!
First timer using a reformer and coach Kathleen was so helpful!!! She took time to demonstrate the moves when I needed and was so encouraging throughout the class. Can't wait to take another one of her classes!!!
I love the convenience of the downtown location despite the challenges with validated offsite garage parking. I also like the smaller size of this studio.
solidcore is an incredibly intense workout and my abs have never been so sore! I took Coach Kathleen's class and she helped with me with my bands throughout the workout and had an amazing playlist. Can't wait to go back!!
I love this studio and the classes here! Some of the most challenging, positive, and helpful instructors out there and I always leave feeling stronger.
My Pilates session at Solidcore was undeniably intense, but what made the experience truly great was the instructor's hands on and motivational approach. Would come back again!

Absolutely obsessed with Solidcore. The best workout you will have. It's the perfect balance of working on your own, focusing on yourself but also having the presence of everyone around you also pushing through an intense workout. Jay and Joe are the best! The way they speak really makes me want to push myself every session. I love solidcore
Wow. What a life changing experience Lance and his team of incredible coaches deliver to everyone that comes into the studio. It’s a transformational workout and I’m grateful to have become part of this inspiring community. ATX [STRONG]
Great workout! Lance was super positive and encouraging which is so important at 6am in the morning. Masks stay on the whole workout to keep everyone safe 😊
I just moved from out of state and was concerned I would not find an amazing gym nearby to replace fave gym. I tried a few gyms out in Austin and LOVE Solidcore. As a person who is used to intense HIIT workouts and endurance training, I love a fast paced challenge, loud electronic music during my workout, a clean contemporary gym, inspirational instructors and a workout that gives me a feminine look - and that's exactly what Solidcore is. All the instructors have been amazing AND I need to give a shout out to Kelly! She was my first instructor, knows everyone by name and just is a little firecracker - she will make you feel so welcome! I wish they were 2 miles closer to my house but they are are worth the drive! I go during non-traffic hours! Thumbs up and five stars.
