This was my first solid core class ever and I loved it! I let Catie know it was my first and she gave me a quick run down of the machine and was checking in on me during the class! She also offered to move my springs for me the whole class bc I was new. She was super nice and even the other classmates were helpful and nice as well! Tough class but it was a good tough. I loved it and it was fun.

I love that there were multiple time spots for this class. The class was definitely for intermediate level. I would recommend it for anyone looking for the challenge. I wasnt a big fan of the music being too loud and trying to listen to the instructions.

Sapphire was amazing!! It was my first class doing reformer Pilates and she focused a lot on my form and guiding me from beginning to end. This was super helpful because the class was a total butt killer! A very good workout for sure. I’m happy that beginners are not only welcome but guided throughout

Took a class with Nadia today and it was brutal in the best way 😮‍💨🔥 Full body burn, nonstop shakes, and I’m feeling it EVERYWHERE. Nadia’s energy was amazing and kept me pushing even when my legs were done. 💕

I was really nervous because I thought this was a starter class but learned it’s one step up. Taylor, the instructor, was amazing and gave enough instruction, demo, and slower paced just enough to still make it doable as a beginner. My legs are shaking, but in a good way!

Couldn’t hear the music almost at all which was a huge bummer! Instructor was nice but spoke so fast it was a little hard to keep up. Give yourself extra time to park, the garage is super confusing but it’s nice that they validate!

Now that we live outside of DC, the Crystal City location has become my new studio. I love the location, coaches, and very clean, newer feeling of the studio. Nadia and Erin are probably my favorite coaches so far. I love going to class then grabbing a coffee at Love Your Mother across the street afterward. There's paid street parking and a garage that's free after 4pm right next to the studio.

I went to a class with a friend 01/2025, proceeded to sign up for a 2 week unlimited classes for $99 special they had going - of the deals I've seen year round, that seems to be the best one - and 11 months later, I'm still going! I hadn't been going to a gym regularly in 7-8 years and that motivation brick wall was sky high. But after two weeks, I was hooked. I signed up for 8 classes a month using the healthcare worker discount. 8 months later, I decided to go unlimited classes because the 25% healthcare worker discount finally applied to that option too. The coaches are motivating and happy to see me when I come in. Navy Yard is one of only a handful that has 2 studios so there's that many more class options. I'm at 148 classes and every class is still challenging. I'm actually seeing a difference in my body and muscles which motivates me that much more. There's lockers, toiletries, hair dryers, and bathrooms. The app is easy to use. Because of where I live now, I go to a lot of different studios but Navy Yard will always be my favorite and original home studio.

It was the instructor's first class as a senior instructor and it was very apparent why she was promoted to that position. I have never taken a Solidcore class but Axe was so patient and her instructions were so clear, it really made all the difference considering how foreign the reformer apparatus was to me. 10/10 would recommend

Yo, so I matched with this total smoke show online, right? She's all like, "Take a Solidcore class with me and you'll have the key to my heart." So, naturally, I'm thinking, "Dude, I lift. I crush protein. I got this." I grab a couple classes, no problem. Walked in, and the place was, like, spotless. Seriously, cleaner than my apartment after Mom's visit. The girl at the front desk, Flor, was awesome. Super chill, professional, the whole nine yards. She's calling me her bestie, telling me to slay it in the workout. Even started chatting with me in Spanish, felt like I was in a telenovela. But, bro, let me tell you, that workout destroyed me. I was hanging on for dear life, man. My abs are screaming, and my obliques are like, "Yo, we're still here!" with every single move. Hoping I can laugh without dying tomorrow. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a serious challenge.

I’m obsessed with solidcore. It’s a high intensity, low impact workout that is so challenging but keeps you coming back for more! Be warned, this is not a traditional Pilates..it is strength training. So it will be not be relaxing. But as you do more classes it gets better and you get stronger! The best workout ever, and the coaches are always encouraging and welcoming! Shoutout Lauren, Erin and Axe 🤍

I've been attending for 5 weeks now and I can’t say enough good things about my experience! All the instructors were incredibly nice and patient. They ensure everyone feels comfortable and assist when needed. The app is well structured and the classes are easy to book. One major plus is the validated parking, the parking garage is right next door and always empty.

Very intense full body workout! If this is your first class I recommend maybe arriving 15 mins before the class actually begins so that you can claim your spot, place your things in a locker and even do some pre-stretching because I got there just in time and had to jump straight into which was a bit overwhelming. Although, thoughout the course of the class I enjoyed the encouragement coming from the instructor, how clean the facility was and the workout itself wasn't like any other workout I've done so this was pretty cool!

Crystal City only has one location on the map for ClassPass, so I decided to give it a try. I had the pleasure of taking a class with the head coach, Nina. She was able to show me around and told me about the different resistance level springs. The full body session targeted the inner thighs and core. I didn't think I would sweat during class but I literally felt sweat dripping down my arms and my face. Pilates on the reformer with Nina will challenge you! You'll work out muscles you never thought ever existed until class. There are self-locking lockers and two gender neutral bathrooms. Both bathrooms have toiletries for your personal use -- tampons, hair ties, Bobby pins, hair spray, deodorant spray, etc. It can be on the more premium side in terms of price (drop in class is $40), but if you have classpass or a monthly membership, it's worth it if you want to commit to Pilates and a strong body! I recommend solidcore!

Let me give it to you straight- solidcore is not for the faint of heart. Will you feel like you are dying the whole time? Yes. Will every muscle in your body be begging you to stop? Yes. For the entirety of the class, I am wishing it was over. However, after 6 months of doing solidcore, I feel that my fitness has been elevated to a level I didn't think was possible. I have never received so many compliments and the workout classes I used to go to before now feel easy. I also appreciate this studio's extremely flexible class times- you can go to a class basically whenever you want. Also, since the coaches follow a formula, you know you will get a great workout each time. I have NEVER left wishing I worked out harder. The studio is super flexible and, responsive and easy to contact through their email if you ever have any issues with class scheduling or classes that are expiring. If you are thinking about trying solidcore, I would give yourself at least 3 classes before you decide if it's for you or not because the class structure and using the machine is an adjustment. Definitely would recommend for those looking for a challenge!

[Solidcore] has been referred to as pilates on steroids. I originally found [solidcore] through ClassPass when I was furloughed and used the opportunity to get in shape. I work out regularly and it is literally the most physically challenging thing I've ever done! It's a 50-minute high intensity, low impact full body workout that builds strength and endurance. It never gets easier- you only get stronger. I did barre at least five times a week prior to the pandemic, so I was accustomed to the shaky feeling of achieving muscle failure. But with barre, I started to get bored as the class format was the same and I sometimes felt like I was repeating classes during the week. Every day in [solidcore] focuses on two different muscle groups, so you don't get bored. As an unlimited member since November 2021, I've been going regularly, checking out different studios in the DMV, and definitely see results. I now have definition in my muscles that I've never seen before! I primarily go to Crystal City, which is a relatively new studio- it's huge with 19 [sweatlanas]! All of the coaches are amazing, encouraging and give you personalized attention to improve your form, which helps you get a better workout- you can really feel the difference with minor adjustments. I highly recommend newcomers start with the full body workout to get familiar with the equipment, terms, moves, etc. [Solidcore] is addictive. It is expensive, but worth it. So, bring on the shakes!

I have tried reformed pilates in the past and decided my back was in need of it again. The last time I did reformed pilates was about four years ago so solidcore was quite the challenge. My first class was with Chelsea and she was so great at correcting my form and giving me direction- I really appreciated all her tips and she made such a pleasant introduction to solidcore for me. The slow movements and body strength training left me sore, but wanting more. My lower back pain was relieved significantly after my first class and I decided to continue for the month. In the past 2 weeks, I have taken 6 classes, all targeting different parts of my body and making me question how strong I really was before, haha. I have taken the most classes with April C. and really love her coaching style. Today I went to a class taught by Izzie O. and she was fantastic. My abs and arms were really burning throughout the session and I could feel the soreness kicking in throughout the day. I'm happy to have found a new workout to add variety to my fitness routine. solidcore is the perfect place for you to challenge your body strength, flexibility, and posture.

Now that I'm officially part of the 50 club, that means I'm halfway to the 100 club (meaning I've taken 100 classes). When I first started, I only took 1 beginner's class a week for about a month. Then I gradually moved on to regular [non-beginner] classes, then twice a week, three times a week, and now four times a week. I NEVER thought I would get to this point, as the idea of Solidcore always scared me. These classes are tough, as to be expected. And as soon as it starts to get comfortable and you start to get confident then it's time for you to push harder and challenge yourself. I've pushed myself beyond what I ever could have thought before starting these classes and, I'm not gonna lie, it sometimes makes me emotional to see how strong I've become. It's also pretty encouraging and humbling to see people who are more physically fit than me struggle just as much during certain parts of the workout. Everyone is in it together and the coaches encourage you to speak to your neighbors and high five each other after the workout. The instructors are all knowledgeable and I enjoy most of their classes, however, my personal preference is for Martha, Rose, and Jen's classes. Martha and Jen have the best playlists (mostly hip hop) and Rose is super high energy. I only go to their classes. All 3 are encouraging and will step in to correct your form or give you a helping hand if you are struggling. Prices are as expensive as other gyms in the area but it's honestly cheapest to get the unlimited plan for about $250 a month.

Third reviews the charm! This place recently renovated so the issue of sunlight beaming in is gone; also seems like acoustics have gotten better as well as it's not quite as loud as before. I love taking classes with Dani, David, or May and their instruction is awesome and vibes are great. Still one of the most challenging classes I've taken to date and I love the soreness that lingers days after. They got nice new lockers too!

So far I've taken 6 classes at this location: 3 with Anna, 2 with Nefertiti and 1 with Rose. By far my favorite classes have been with Anna who gives clear direction, demonstrates specific moves at the beginning of class and is encouraging without being overbearing. She also provides appropriate modifications to reduce strain on joints and suggestions to further challenge yourself. I noticed that after coming to 1 class a week for 5 straight weeks, I found myself taking less breaks during the most recent class. Also since my core isn't as weak after some consistency in attendance, it's been helpful when I'm weight training and doing cardio. I'm looking forward to taking 10 more classes before the end of the year!

Honestly this is such a great workout. I've been coming a while and I still have a challenge each time. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. Every coach is unique and each gives you a different kind of workout. No matter what, you can't go wrong. Jen and Martha have great music and difficult classes. Symantha and Rose will regularly throw in wild cards with difficult moves and are always sticklers about form. Anna and Jena are both awesome and both make you feel real comfortable even while your legs are shaking and ready to give out. Great studio.

I don't think I could be any more obsessed with this workout & community! I've been doing SolidCore for around 2 years and think i've done over 200 classes and I can't get enough! I used to take class 4 times a week but just added OrangeTheory into my workout so I've moved my membership down to 2 classes a week which I still think is very effective! I started taking classes at the Ashburn studio and then switched over to Ballston when I switched jobs and I think every studio is great! The coaches at this studio are all awesome and super helpful when you have questions. Overall, this is probably the hardest workout that i have ever done and it doesn't get any easier which is the best part since it's always new and challenging. It is a must try, you won't be dissapointed!

I am so impressed with not only this workout, but this studio and it's instructors. I came for the first time yesterday and took Amy's class. As someone who frequents high end fitness studios like Barry's, Flywheel, Soul Cycle, etc I was pleasantly surprised by how down to earth and friendly everyone was. Amy's class was amazing, the directions were crystal clear. At no point did I feel confused and I always felt supported and encouraged while the workout was still super challenging. It was an awesome introduction to Solidcore. Today I took Ivana's class and again, super friendly and welcoming and amazing upbeat training style. While I don't live in the area, so I may not be back for awhile I definitely wanted to leave a review for these awesome ladies and their killer class. Not to mention the studio was very clean and easy to maneuver around. The instructors always correct your form so you are doing the move effectively. Also this class is great for people with injuries. I had a bad skiing injury that was made worse by falling through a dock and often my joints in one leg hurt after intense classes. With this class I was more sore than I have been for awhile but my joints didn't hurt at all! Can't wait to take another class when I'm back in the area!

I've tried a lot of modalities and studios, and in my opinion, so many are more hype than workout and may be better at delivering experiences than internal results. This is for real, and I'm happy to shell out cash to them because it's seriously challenging and purposeful, the work is smart, and it's not something I could do on my own. I get humbled and I leave sore in only the right ways. I was a fan within the 90 seconds of my first class, and I'd recommend it to anyone who considers themselves fit and wants that extra something to get stronger yet. That said, I agree with the reviewer who likened their cueing system to an auctioneer. I've been to five classes, and probably catch about 25% of what the coach says (less as I get more fatigued). I'd encourage the company to rethink the strategy of continuous, urgent vocalization. Give the cues some time to land; say 25% less to be heard 75% more. Your coaches' communicative impact would be so much greater if they actually said a bit less.

I tried out a class here and LOVED IT. My whole body is shaking and sore but that's the goal. Symantha was the instructor and she was great. She explained the machine and the moves very well and was extremely upbeat, enthusiastic and encouraging throughout the class. Solidcore is by far the most challenging class I've ever done where I've sweat the least. The class consists of normal workout moves like squats, push ups and lunges but they are on a machine where you can adjust the resistance and the moves are very controlled so when you are there and when you leave out you know you got a work out in. As far as the studio, it's much smaller than I imagined. There is a code you are given to get in the studio and the "lobby" is small. Since the class only holds like 15 ppl much space isn't needed like a regular gym but don't come to class expecting to shower afterwards because there are no showers but maybe that's bc you don't sweat like a regular cardio class. The bathrooms are huge- you can change and freshen up with the amenities provided so that's helpful. Just know that when you're leaving class and someone else is coming in you may have a hard time getting your stuff just bc of congestion but it's definitely worth the workout

I've tried about every version of Pilates, barre, and reformer classes and this is the most intense workout I've ever done. I've had three different instructors and all have been great at working the room, correcting postures, and giving direction. I'm attending more beginner classes than regular to continue to focus on form and still get a tremendous if slightly shorter workout. One star taken off because the acoustics are DREADFUL. Maybe I'm just too old but my ears just don't pick out many of the instructions and I'm still too new to know what everything is called.

Holy guacamole. I'm pretty sure my entire body is going to be sore for days. I tried a beginner class for my first class, which is definitely the right move. Martha was really nice. She did a great job explaining the equipment (you really need a full explanation!) and demonstrating a few moves before the class started (which was super helpful!) Honestly, as tough as the class is (IT'S LIKE REALLY FREAKING HARD GUYS), the time totally flew by. It's definitely on the more expensive side (but it is on ClassPass!), but they do have a few deals. I'll probably try another class when I can walk again.

I thoroughly enjoy my Sunday 1030 class at the Washington Navy Yard with Rose. Every class we learn a new move, motivation is high, and I leave with a sense that I just got my butt kicked but in a good way. If you like a challenge, come get some. Mike P

Caitlyn M. Is by the far the best of all 20+ solidcore coaches I've had class with. So glad I found Crystal City!
