Very friendly & helpful staff. Farrell my solar specialist was great in answering all my questions about the products ( as it was a costly thing for me to invest in). The installation team - plumber and electricians were friendly and again, answered any questions I had. Were also quick and efficient with installations. My purchase was an E series heatpump - changing from gas to electric ( good timing too, my old service was on its way out when they installed the new) Also, a Smile - G3 battery. My initial appointment with Farrel was on the 15th November 2024 and installation was on 6th December 2024 - very fast service!

My installers were professional and knowledgeable, guiding me through each step. Installing the panels themselves was relatively quick, taking only a day. I opted for a battery storage system to maximise the use of the solar energy generated during the day, which seems to be paying off. The conversion from my traditional water heater took a bit more time for the heat pump water system. However, the team explained how the heat pump works and its efficiency in using ambient air to heat water, which is great for saving on energy bills. **Usage Experience:** Now, here’s where it gets a bit funny. The weather decided to play a prank on me during the first few days after installation—cloudy skies everywhere! I could almost hear my solar panels chuckling as they sat there, barely producing any power, probably thinking, “You thought you could rely on us? Not today!” For a moment, I questioned whether I had made the right decision. I was half-convinced that my panels were just fancy roof décor. But then, just like that, the sun returned with a vengeance! After a whole week of sunny days, my app started showing impressive electricity savings numbers. I went from worrying about my sunny-day dreams turning into cloudy doubts to basking in the glow of my newfound energy independence. In just one week, I realised how much electricity the system had saved, and I couldn’t help but laugh at my earlier scepticism. The heat pump water system is also working well. It heats water efficiently, and I’ve noticed it takes less time than my old system to provide hot water. Plus, it operates quietly, which is a bonus. **Overall Thoughts:** I’m thrilled with my decision to go solar and install the heat pump water system. While the upfront costs can be daunting, the long-term savings and environmental benefits make it worthwhile. The tradesman that installed the system was a very thorough person. Also a very approachable bloke when explaining the system and it’s working. Smart Energy is also very approachable and only a phone call away. Nothing is too hard. It’s great to be able to communicate with people I can understand.
Right from the first point of contact…
Right from the first point of contact with Rhys, the solar specialist, through to the installation team, electrician and all the staff who followed up after the installation of our solar system, the process went very smoothly. Everything was explained in detail and I was shown on the app how to use the new solar system and check for normal usage and faults, should they occur. Nothing was too much trouble. The guys were very quick and efficient during installation, even with my dogs trying to get them to play. I would highly recommend this system to anyone who is looking to offset their power bill. The difference is noticeable.
Our Solar Energy Experience
Our decision to convert to Solar was in the back of our mind. A young man approached me while gardening took a seat on the ground and the conversation began. We decided it couldn’t hurt to organise a Smart Energy representative (Aaron), so we did. He had done some background on our roof situation so when he arrived he had all the information we needed. How many panels, the right positioning and the breakdown of how Solar worked. I was sick of paying someone else for our power, when we can generate our own. We decided to purchase a battery . Which I’m more and more happy about and I’m so glad we decided to go ahead sooner rather than later. After talking with Smart Energy we decided to go ahead. We know we are in good hands and how Solar can only improve on our energy needs and costs. We have opted to be apart of own solution (with Smart Energy)taking control of our energy and our costs. Installation was seamless, professional on time and impressive. Smart Energy also processed a rebate for us so we got some money to pay towards it. The technicians are neat, knowledgeable and placed our battery in a very tidy and safe part of our home and Smart Energy where in contact every step of the way. We sleep well knowing we have taken action and Smart Energy has us well in hand. I say go for it ! The sooner the better we all know time flies, for us thanks to Smart Energy now was the time to act . Thank you Smart Energy for professional support on our solar journey . My consultant Jack was very helpful and understanding of my situation. Let me call and text him any time when I had questions which was super helpful. If he didn't know an answer, he would find out for me. The Electrician Tuan and the 3 installers were efficient, and very respectful of my home, cleaning up all their mess and taking all their rubbish. The only downside was I got the solar battery installed a week after the rebate took place. Neither he nor I was aware of this until after the rebate date. This was a potential $2,400 in rebate so you can only imagine how disheartening it was, especially these days with the cost of living rising.
We are very happy with the installation which took just one day and the support from Smart Energy.

Smart Energy are a great local company that are here for the long haul. We used them to install our solar 6 years ago and went back when we decided to add a battery. Not necessarily the cheapest but the service and quality is well worth it.

I have been with Smart Energy for my Solar System installation and then later on my battery installation and now changing my electicity provider to get me a better deal than my current one. They have been very helpfull and professional in guiding me throughout the whole process and now looking forward to working with them to get the best out of my investment.
They arrived early morning at the time and date they said they would and did a professional job. The installation was done on the same day. Would highly recommended them to any person who requires a solar installation.

Had a great intro to Smart Energy from Aaron Russell who took us through all the pros and cons of batteries and future proofing our home. Aaron being an engineer himself answered all our questions with honesty and knowledge. If he didn't know something he rang the company and asked them. In this case it was a financial question. We are very much looking forward to the install and saving us some $$. I will leave a further review in 3 months time when we have assessed both install and savings. If you can get Aaron for your consult you’re already winning!
I couldn't of expected anything more from start to finish. Jacob was extremely well knowledgeable and prompt in organising an installation that was right for my needs. The installation was done quickly and to a high standard with no mess left behind. The invititation to join Amber energy was also well regarded as with the last NSW price spikes I earned $185 in a single day with smart shift.
Everything has been smooth and painless so far. Door knocker’s were polite and pleasant. The salesman that came was very knowledgeable and friendly and explained everything very well. The installers were very efficient and did a fantastic job under a bit of duress because the house is old and not as straight and level as it could be. The only negative is the cost (we could have had the same capacity system installed for half the price)but we still decided to go with Smart Energy because of the quality of the product and the fact it was a painless experience and everything was basically done for us. Contact with the customer service has been efficient so far also. Happy with everything at present.
The sales process was excellent. Bradley was excellent in his approach and method of explaining the way it worked and how Amber then worked to provide wholesale rates. Installation process was professional and respectful while here. We haven't received the savings as discussed to date but it is early and we understand how AI works and needs to learn patterns

From when Blake knocked on my door, then meeting TJ to go through the purchase then Coenraad completing the installation this has been a positive experience. TJ and Blake were courteous and knowledgeable, did not pressure me to purchase and were respectful of my situation. The installation by G7 Electrical went smoothly and was completed in a few hours. The cost was reasonable value for money although I do believe that when retailers got wind of the impending rebate that prices went up a bit but that does happen when the government gives out incentives. The battery unit and inverter are top class even though Alpha-ess didn't feature in the reviews of the top systems. The app gives you all the information you need to keep a track of your savings. Customer service and follow up communication has been brilliant, Smart Energy has been with me all the way but best not to call around lunch time?. I am using virtually no electricity from the grid, the battery is providing my peak time usage and Iam getting good feed in so I cannot wait to see what my charges will be down the track. A good decision, a great supplier and installer, couldn't be happier. Thank you.
Found Smart Energy great from the get-go . Mac was patient, thorough , competent , informative and pleasant . The installers were also capable , thorough and friendly young guys , and the customer service girls that I dealt with setting up my app for tracking energy etc were also very well informed and helpful . Also, such a change and relief ( these days ) to always be able to get into someone -and then they always followed up and got back to me asap . Happy to recommend all involved

Jack Bishop was the sales guy I delt with, as would be expected he did an excellent job of holding my hand through to the installation. Now the install team tried to use some thinner gauge wiring but my son had an ac unit turned on, which burnt out the wiring whenever they powered it up. They switched to a heavier gauge wire and the system appears to be working fine. Note, the back of the house where the battery is located is a bit on the muddy side and the guys didn't whinge about that so they get stars for that. Now I am dealing with customer service so I can be confident I am using the system the way it was designed to be used and they seem approachable so all appears excellent. David Dillon

Extremely happy, already seeing savings. Customer service was A1 from start to finish. Rob was fantastic at getting everything set up and follow up. The install team were awesome. Everything happened when they said it would. Highly recommend.
Rob and Sherri were helpful, courteous and professional. We have an issue with shade from neighbour trees and previous solar companies even refused to come out and look. Rob and Cheri came and looked at our house, ran the numbers and estimated that we could achieve 20kw per day out of a 6.5kw system. Only 6.1kw of panels would fit on the side of the roof chosen for the install so we went with the lesser size. So far during summer we have seen daily power generation of between 15kw and 40kw from this 6.1kw system which is better than expected.
I have been a customer for 3 years at Smart Energy, I was recently contacted to see how my system was going and if I wanted to explore battery options. We looked at 3 options and ended up going for Tesla Power Waiting to see how it benefits us but have been happy so far with the service. Thank you Joel and the Smart Energy team
I could not rate Smart Energy any less than outstanding! I have been seeking solar for a few years and became tired of misleading and confusing advice from other companies. Smart Energy staff members listened carefully to our needs, responded quickly with information and advice and, proposed a very easy to understand plan for our home. The initial consultant Ziah was very friendly and understanding and had all the information necessary within 24 hours including a site plan, installation options, and a quick and easy interest free payment plan. He had made contact with our current energy supplier and had easy to follow changeover information. Excellent service! The installation was brilliant! Chris confirmingly explained the process and even when there were small glinches, he informed us after he had sorted the problem. They stayed onsite during tricky weather until the job was finished same day. The follow up service to ensure we could access the solar app and to make sure we were happy was also fantastic. Anyone seeking to purchase solar energy would be crazy not to go to the experts first! Thank you Smart Energy!!
- Door knock guy was polite and to the point - FAB - Quote guy (James Grant) - Not your typical sales rep!! - polite, to the point, down to earth and logical - FAB. - Install team were great, left no mess and showed me how to use the phone App and the system. - Got constant updates via email and text with each step, although some of them were not in sync with the timeline as steps had already been completed and system turned on - just used common sense to know I didn't need to do anything.

We found Matthew and the installers very professional and efficient. The whole process was stress free and very quick.
Quoting process was extensive although in hindsight I doubt that that the savings anticipated will be as much as indicated but time will tell. The installation was carried out efficiently, the installers cleaned up and left nothing out of place. The system was explained to me, an app was set up on my phone so I can monitor the performance remotely and it was connected to the grid and operating before the team left. I have been contacted by Smart Energy on several occasions to ensure that the system is working properly and I am satisfied.
A few hiccups with actual set up, but Russell was brilliant and sorted everything out for us, so very happy with the end result.
From the initial quote to installation all went to perfection. The sales team explained everything in detail and the installation was carried out to a high standard. To early to obtain savings etc but I have high hopes the system will perform .
Sales very clear and precise in planning the best outcome . Workmanship of all contractors top class and all friendly and polite clean up after work spotless . One phone call by myself and installer set it running also showing me procedure for emergency shut down.

The in home consultation was even better, was supposed to be about an hour but because I had heaps of questions it lasted 3hrs and was worth every minute. Within a couple of weeks the boys were on the roof, installed the system in a day and running the very next day. Tidy clean courteous and extremely professional. Edit: Smart Energy contacted me promptly, and are in the process of resolving my issue. Credit where credit is due, I feel they have listened and are taking action. My solar battery stopped working. Contacted Smart Energy and Redback Technologies. After a month of not working it's still not fixed. I'm paying $17,000 for something that is not even working. Realise I'm waiting on the installer (who has not contacted me). Very very disappointed. Have missed 1 month of summer sun charging my battery.
