Great staff, I had a wart removal on my hand with liquid nitrogen. Remember to eat something because the pain and temperature can shock you and make you pass out like I did! The staff took care of me and it was no big deal and most importantly my warts are now gone!

There was no wasted time in my waiting to be seen; however, the nice young doctor who came into the room to “examine” me didn’t ask realtime questions, nor did he take the time to actually examine my rash. He spent all of 60 seconds in my presence. I asked him what could be causing this rash. I couldn’t get a real answer. I even had to ask him if he wanted me to continue on my present medication. What was his hurry? Sorry if this is offending, but this scenario isn’t what I expect of those whose chosen field is in truly helping and being present for the human beings they are treating. What is becoming of private practice in medicine with this new, younger generation of doctors? Is the amount of money they are getting per patient simply not enough to even show a genuine interest in the human beings they are treating?? Im sorry if Im offending , but I don’t find this the same practice that Dr. Peter Webb served for decades proceeding the present dermatology practice.

I am a new patient, seen for the first time on the same day I called. Everything was wonderful! Free parking in downtown San Mateo, helpful receptionists, clean office, professional staff. I will move my dermatology care to this practice as they are medically focused. *update* I have now been to see Alicia Sherpa, NP three times. She is kind, compassionate and listens carefully. Her observational skills are great as she has found multiple pre cancerous lesions and now one cancerous spot on my face. Dr Li performed Mohs surgery in the office. He was outstanding, as was the RN who assisted. Everything was extremely professional and organized. They calmed my nerves and explained everything thoroughly. 10/10

Before reaching out to this clinic, I came across some negative reviews about the front desk staff. I can understand why, as the person who answered my first phone call was a bit rude. However, when I called again to reschedule my appointment, the staff member I spoke with was polite and professional. Today, during my appointment, my experience was much better. The front desk staff were once again courteous and professional. I then met with Dr. Li for a consultation, and he was excellent. He took the time to listen to my concerns, was very knowledgeable, and provided me with a clear treatment plan that sounds promising. I’m excited about my treatment and hopeful that it will give me the results I’m looking for!

There were two ladies at the front desk. One was friendly, the other was not - never cracked a smile despite me being super friendly with her. It was odd. She also told me I was too late (was 10 mins early) to fill out their forms and that they'd do it "in the back". No one asked me to fill out any forms - even in the back. Short wait for the doctor (5 mins maybe), and she was very nice, efficient, and seemed knowledgeable, but the whole visit was probably no more than 10 minutes for a full body check and some discussion. It just felt a biut rushed - as she was walking away I had to say that I actually had a few questions. But to be honest, she did answer them - just no time for any "hi, how are you?".

Saw Alicia Sherba, who diagnosed me and prescribed medication. I was out by 1:45. All good other than the first intake process where you fill in a bunch of information on an iPad (takes 5-7 minutes) and then are asked to write it all out (same information) on a paper form. When asked if I needed to write on paper what I just completed on an iPad, the answer was, “Unfortunately, yes”. Completing the same information twice doesn’t make sense and only sends the message of operational inefficiencies and lack of understanding the patient’s time and effort. Other than that, rest of the appointment and exam was flawless.

The response to my review is a clear indication that this review most likely wasn’t even read beyond the sentence above. The receptionists on the other hand are equally important in an office and I must say I was not impressed with them. I requested an appointment online and didn’t hear back from anyone. I ended up calling to find out what the issue was and learned no one even looked to see my request. I was able to finally get an appointment booked. When I arrived, I was asked to fill out information that I already filled out online. I complied. While filling out the information I could overhear the receptionists complaining to each other about their work until I left the area for my visit. These issues are easy to fix. I hope the doctors take this constructive feedback to address the front office staff.
