6 years ago I went to a doctor for a bump on my nose. The DX was a deep vein under the skin, no biopsy. 6 years later I went to Schweitzer Dermatology, appointment with Dr. Albridge, she walked into the room and immediately said I have basal cell ca. but needed to biopsy it to be sure of her DX and Mohs surgery was recommended. Three weeks later I had Mohs surgery with Dr Arzeno MD. She was absolutely wonderful. The surgery was quick and painless. Now, one week after surgery, my nose is on its way to recovery and looks good. This institute is well run and the doctors, nurses and support staff are all professionals that get results and make you feel welcome. I’d recommend this organization to all my friends and family to alleviate what I went through 6 years ago.

The front desk person who checked me in was not welcoming. She asked my name and for my cards but never looked at me. I watched her do this with everyone she checked in. When giving me the iPad to fill out forms she just assumed I would know how to use it and it glitched but I chose to ask someone else for help. The nurse and Joe Gorelick were wonderful! The nurse was friendly while asking me questions and informative as to wound care. Joe was also friendly and efficient. I would have liked to have him explain what he was doing as I was surprised when he gave me the numbing shot and wasn’t sure what he was doing to the thing on my back! I will see Joe again in a month.

On my very 1st visit to this dermatology office my primary doctors staff referred me to Dr Morales, I must say this young lady & her assistant impressed me so well, I had to tell one of my friends in Los Gatos that they need to come to this dermatologist as they can over afford their bill, I have her my only card I had, she said she is definitely coming I told her let me know how you like Dr Morales & for her to share the address to Dr Morales when they need a dermatologist & I told my youngest daughter of my experience as. I just want to say, Dr Morales & her assistant patti truly are tops in their fields of dermatology Dr Morales honesty was impeccable, Dr Morales, gave me even sample of exactly what I could use to help my situation & told me their are other treatments if the 1st don’t work . After several long months of getting nowhere with my previous Dermatologist I was referred to Dr. Morales. The difference, for me was nothing less than life changing. I had been dealing with severe itching pretty much everywhere for several years. There were no physical signs, just itching. My previous Dermatologist didn't quite understand what it was, and I ended up taking medications that didn't work. Dr. Morales took me off of what didn't work, and on what did. The change was faster than I thought possible. Within a week much of the itching started to subside. We made adjustments along the way. But roughly 6 months in and all of it is gone, everywhere except one small spot. And even that spot is so much better than before. I can't recommend this Dermatologist highly enough!

I waited 40mins to be seen and 10mins after my appt I got a phone call asking if I was coming to my appt when I had already checked in 15mins prior to that call. It also always hard to get someone on a live call but they do always call back if you leave a message.

This is my experience with California Skin Institute, Dr. Michelle Mak-Fung. The front desk is staff with competent and friendly receptionists. You are brought into a clean and organized examination room. Dr. Mak-Fung is thorough in her explanation of the procedure and what the patient should expect. Dr. Mak-Fung has good bedside manners. Only negative is the parking. There not enough parking for the doctors, staff and patients.

I was in a terrible state with a very bad MRSA infection under my arm. Dr. Lusby was a godsend! She was very aggressive with the infection and made sure that the wound was clear of infection. She never once lost sight of the fact that there was a human being attached to this arm that she was working on. She and her assistant Alyssa gave me words of encouragement throughout. She ensured that I was on the correct medication that would kill this bacteria. She and her assistant Alyssa are amazing and saved me from a much more serious issue. The two of them work together like fine clockwork. Dr. Lusby never once had to ask for anything. Alyssa her assistant was already there with exactly what the doctor needed For the procedure. I am so very grateful that both of them were there for me when I needed them most. I can’t thank them enough for their caring and expertise!!!

The whole process of determining I have BCC up to when I had the procedure was very smooth and everything went well. However the removal of my stitches ( it is in my face, upper lip under my nose) was VERY painful to the point I was crying a bit. I was told no numbing would be given. I was not even given an opportunity to be asked if I feel like I would want or need it. Some skin had started to grow over the stitches so she’s had to cut them out little by little. It was very distressing.

I am writing this review for Dr. Sara Colby. I have been going to her for many years for various dermatological concerns. Two years ago I was in her office for a skin issue....it happened to be a warm summer day and I was wearing a sleeveless blouse. Though not there for any change in a freckle or mole, she noticed a very subtle change in a freckle on my upper lateral right arm. Due to it's location, this is not something I had ever noticed. In any event she discovered this subtle change and shaved it off for biopsy. Much to my surprise, it came back as malignant melanoma. I was referred to Dr. Morganroth in her office for the excision, which was no small feat. Fortunately, the lesion was melanoma-in-situ....this was caught at the earliest possible stage due to Dr. Sara Colby's finely tuned assessment skills. Although I require annual follow-up appointments, the stage in which this was caught makes recurrence unlikely. She was very supportive throughout this ordeal. as she has been with all subsequent appointments. She is kind, patient and concerned. She saved my life and I cannot recommend her highly enough!

In less than 15 min, He narrowed it down to two causes! Note: We have been trying to resolve this skin rash under Kaiser care for over a year now! Kaiser’s maze, and protocols and recommendation did not work for him. We feel very hopeful . Sometimes it pays off to go out of pocket if you want results. Thank you! I also want to add the lady that checked us in prior to seeing the doctor was also very personable and thorough with her questions. Not rushed, like most places. Great experience so far. We are hopeful for the outcome of his treatment. My only feedback “out of pocket” can be expensive, especially for college students when they are on their own. Wish they had a program in place for them 😉

I have been going to the California Skin Institute for the past 15 years or so to check for possible skin cancers, and to have MOHS surgery if necessary. I hope to never need MOHS again, but I will continue to see these excellent professionals to ensure that I am protected in the future.

Great appt with Dr Paul Hoesly, straight to the point regarding medical options and clear with all information. My "complain" is regarding the organization of the clinic. We found in our insurance portal and after check reviews we called to schedule appts for me and my husband. During the call we provided 5times the same information (allegedly system problems, which is fine). However, in person the experience was the same. We had 4 different receptionist check in for the appt (itself makes disorganized and necessary to repeat same things several times. It was requested to fill up a paper form (same information provided previously by phone) and afterwards we had to provide again all information by tablet. Seems to be a better use of patience and clinical team time just go straight to tablet, and talk with reception afterwards. Also, we had several errors in the tablet that we can't fix, and as consequence we had to be asking over and over to the reception to fix it. The staff explained those informations are the ones "provided by phone". In the end all of us are wasting time and repeating unnecessary tasks. In any case, it is a suggestion. All team was friendly either way.

As a retired, small practice dentist, I miss the days of intimate, personalized healthcare environments. This dermatology practice is large and busy. I was lucky enough to be referred to Dr Anjali Morales so this review is about her. I’m her new fan! She was personable and efficient on my initial visit. I had two concerning moles that prompted my visit and she biopsied both. Her numbing injection was totally painless (top of my foot!! and upper back) and she did her work in under five minutes after a full skin exam, same visit. Dr. Morales is old school in that she’s not going to pitch you on a bunch of esthetic procedures, rather she is concerned about the health of your largest organ and any concerns you have. She is very booked but worth the wait!

Dr. Morales is my favorite doctor by far..I love going there…all the nurses, everybody there are absolutely the best, five star’s all day oh and lets don’t forget CJ love her too…
