Skin health is important which is overlooked by many, but it needs to be checked to prevent issues including serious ones.

This is the fourth of fifth time I have been a patient at Schweiger Dermatology Group. I have gone there for my yearly skin check up and a minor facial augmentation. Each time I have been there it has been a positive experience. This last visit I went for a yearly skin check up. While I was there I asked for some help with an injury I sustained a week prior. It was broken skin on my foot. Melissa Sabari, the PA was so kind to take a look at it. She had to go on to her next patient and her assisting nurse , Antuane, stayed and changed my dressing. She was so kind and caring. She distracted me and was so comforting when I got a little upset. She is a Rock Star ⭐️. Thank you so much for your care and attention. I was so impressed with this practice being willing to to help me out and get me in as soon as possible. Since that time, I have switched to Schweiger Dermatology and continue to be very, very pleased with the care and the treatment that they have given me. I have seen Dr. Abbate a few times and I’m very taken with how pleasant he is and how easy he is to talk to. He recently removed a small growth and put a few stitches in. Melissa Ramos PA-C literally honestly saved me!! I was suffering from dermatitis for about two months that was progressively getting worse to the point where I couldn't take the pain anymore. I saw a different provider at a different location who misdiagnosed me and I was on so many different prescriptions that nothing was working if anything it was becoming worse. I then went to the emergency room and an ENT hoping my condition would get better but again absolutely NO LUCK!! On Monday morning I called for a same day appointment and luckily I got in. I wasn't confident that this would be resolved but at this point I had nothing to loose. Little did I know that day would improve my condition later that night. Melissa Ramos PA-C, you are amazing at what you do! Thank you for taking the time to see me and throughly examine my condition and making sure that I was being prescribed the right medication after months of struggle. I finally found relief and I am recovering and healing from this infection and dermatitis. I cannot thank you enough and I hope this reaches you!! If anyone is looking for a dermatologist who actually cares about you look no further!!

Having any kind of skin cancer, especially on your face, can be stressful, and scary, but Dr. Spates was professional, kind and went above and beyond to make the procedure as smooth and painful as possible-free as possible. I was able to obtain an appointment with Nicole, who is very easy to talk to, listened to my concerns, treated me and was able to give me a few samples to get started. He allows his patients to communicate and he really cares unlike Dr grosser in Nutley who does not allow patients to speak, and misdiagnosed me 3 times inside 3 months had me taking medication that did nothing for my condition as he did not know what to treat, and refused to acknowledge lab corp results. Dr. Abate actually had me on the road to recovery the same week I visited him. He did not lie to me or steer me wrong. He actually walked me through the entire treatment along with nurse J, and Barbara and these two women are super nurses as they were on top of everything!!. I am cured now and I have Dr. Abate and his staff to thank. They saved me from the nightmare at Dr. Grosser in Nutley. Thank you Sari, Dr . Abatte and staff. I am forever grateful and highly recommend the Riverdale office and Dr. Abbate and staff. Stay away from Dr. Grossier in Nutley. He is a liar, he is condescending, in addition to not being a very good doctor over all. Don't take my word for it, please read the Google reviews before mine and see for yourself how long patients have been screaming the same for YEARS!! I have choice words however it is not suitable for Google. Lastly you know it is bad when a patient has to say to a doctor "slavery is OVER!" Thanks to Dr. Nicole Colucci, I can feel confident after my annual body scan. If something is there, she will see it and have it checked for you. She will ask you for any concerns you may have too. My brother is fighting melanoma with infusions every few weeks which leave him tired. He had a mole that was cancerous which started on his back shoulder and waited too long to have it checked out. A dermatologist would have ordered a test right away. Don't put off your annual body scan especially all of you sun worshipers, I was once one myself.

Dr. Abbatte is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! Over the years I have been to sooooo many dermatologist who didn't have great bedside manner, who blamed me for my skin problems, and who failed to help me... Some even making my skin worse. Dr. Abbatte took one look at my acne and knew exactly what I needed. He cleared my skin quickly, without side effects, and not just for the short term. Any time I need an adjustment or have a problem, he REALLY listens and works to fix it. And he is always caring and kind. He always makes sure I have my medicine when I need it, unlike other doctors both in the practice and outside of it. I would drive for hours to see Dr. Abbatte if I had to, and I wouldn't see anyone else. His nurses are also always the sweetest! I'm so glad to have found Dr. Abbatte!

I used to go to The Derm Group Verona office before moving. Once I moved I didn’t realize there was a Riverdale office and went to a different group until just last week. I was very unhappy with the previous group. Due to my age I felt like my complete skin exams took 1-2 minutes and were not thorough at all despite close family history of melanoma. My first visit at the Riverdale office was excellent. I saw Gabbie and she was friendly, listened to my concerns and treated me thoroughly. She even pointed out a mole for biopsy that I’ve been trying to have the previous office address for two years. I plan on bringing my daughter and encouraging my husband to use this dermatology group as well.
