My visit at Mt Vernon was exceptional. NP was very friendly, polite, respectful and knowledgeable. Office was well organized and friendly. However, my husband, who is a patient of Schweiger, called for a medication order and got the general number. Took quite some time and communication was poor Was so much more efficient when Dr Nahass was on his own. The group needs to work on communication

I go to Natalie Amason, who I adore. She found a little cancer spot on my face that Dr Gowen had to remove. He was wonderful as well, but his nurse, Branda, was so incredible! Dr Gowen is very professional. He explains in detail what your situation is and how best to take care of it. Always greets you with a hand shake and a smile. My husband had many cancerous spots on his face and arm. He has a process that shows that all the cancer areas have been removed. Dr Gowen removed them and stitched the areas. Can’t even tell where the spots are. I only have good things to say about Dr Gowen. We are blessed to have found him.

This is my first time doing this type of thing. I think I did another Dr questions but nothing from this office. I am very glad that in an appointment earlier, may of been my first appointment with Amy Stevens. Amy took a biopsy on my face (I thought it was an old age spot). Came back melanoma and the race was on! I had 2 different melanomas and 2 surgeries on each place. Amy sent me to a surgeon from Chesterfield, MO and she comes to Mt Vernon and she sent me to a plastic surgeon in Chesterfield, MO. I have about a one inch diameter skin graph scar after it healed. It was mind blowing. How Amy knew what to check and the last minute call for me to get there while the surgeon was there. I am so LUCKY. A stranger pointed out to me that I could be dead. So you may think I am rambling on, but if I hadn't seen. AMY STEVENS things might of been alot different.

I loved Natalie, and I’ve been very pleased with Amy since Natalie went to the Centralia office. Unlike most, I understand medicine is a practice, not an exact science. What works for some or even most doesn’t work for everyone because every human body is different. I am thankful for providers who know this too. I don’t feel like a test subject or a number at this office.

And Dr. Gowen is a great guy, very knowledgeable and pleasant. He is OK! Now for the bad: The one thing that I did not care for is the method in which you check in. I am not a tech type of guy and using a kiosk to enter info, scanning/swiping cards and such is not something I like. The employees of the clinic needing to use computers and other hi-tech stuff is one thing, but to have patients jumping thru tech hoops is a bit much.
