He was excellent at explaining any and all items found during the exam and the treatments used/needed. Serious and dedicated to his work which is keeping your skin both fresh and growth free. You absolutely can’t go wrong visiting his office for any and all dermatology procedures.

The No-Parking signs in all the parking spaces for the building that houses the California Skin Institute are way over-much, dire, confusing and threantening: the parking is intended for clients/patients doing business in the building and the signage ought to make that clear. I appreciated the digital check-in on a hand-held pad; it's so much more efficient and humanizing than being handed a huge stack of papers to fill out. The pace was really fast, it's a busy office. The physician's assistant and medical note-taker were courteous, respectful and consummately professional in every way. They accomplished the clinical task with finesse, without awkwardness or embarrassment to me.

My two cents. Pros: Kristine is punctual, cheerful, extremely thorough and knowledgeable. Cons: No filter. Perhaps it is just her youth, or just no one has ever said anything to her, but I believe there's an art to letting people know obvious things which can make the visit more positive or more negative. Example 1 "Oh, those are just age spots." Honey, upsell me a service-- that's the age I'm at, and the expectation I have. Example 2 "Oh you have so many broken blood vessels on your face!" Yes. Rosacea. Again, see comment one. I've had them lasered before, and would have been willing to do it again. Example 3 "Wow! Your skin is super dry and flaky" {forgot to put lotion on post-shower!} maybe it would be more tactful to say it differently, or ask if it is a chronic condition. Of course, honestly, I could have just been feeling a little sensitive, but with two people examining one's buck-naked body and making those comments, it could have been handled a little better. When you leave an annual dermo skin-cancer screening appointment feeling old, flakey and gross, it isn't going to encourage me to go back, nor to even utilize their cosmetic dermo services.

I highly recommend CA Skin Institute. This is my second location and the transition was seamless: I highly recommend Physician Assistant Kristine Ngyuen as a dermatologist for all of your skincare needs and issues, for which she has treated me for a wide variety of non-cosmetic issues and surgeries. I was able to book with her right away. She overturned a diagnosis for which I was wrongly prescribed medication for three years. In another case she immediately diagnosed my advancing rosacea and helped me put it into remission also almost immediately, helping me to select among treatment options that work with other medications or health requirements. She's also performed numerous surgeries and biopsies. She always has exhaustive patience with me, and listens very attentively to every issue, resolving each one perfectly. At this point she's resolved every dermatology issue I have, and I've finally asked get about cosmetic prescriptions for the first time, which she is also an expert in. The Office Manager Elmina, clinical team and front office staff are all great. I was able schedule right away with Kristine, and am always able to get appointments within two weeks max. If you want an attentive dermatologist where you are in competent, capable and caring hands, PA Ngyuen is perfect. In one case, she scheduled me so I could consult with both her and the physician, but she is my primary care for dermatology, and I can't recommend her enough.

I can’t recommend Dr Gorsulowsky highly enough. He is the last in a lengthy list of acute care and dermatologists I have seen to treat persistent skin problems. These others either misdiagnosed the ailment or made it worse or just failed to treat it at all. Dr. Gorsulowsky is the best dermatologist in Fremont, maybe in the Bay Area. He has been my family's dermatologist for over 30 years. He has recently joined California Skin Institute. He used to be by himself in his own practice but he is the same efficient caring smart phylsician he always was. His staff is very well trained. Dr. Gorsulowsky really listens and because he reads so much in peripheral areas of Medicine, he can sometimes spot issues that need to be addressed by another specialist. It is also an artist in dealing with surgeries that could result in scarring.

Dr. Gorosulowsky is professional, a perfectionist, organized and makes you feel comfortable. He has been practicing for over 35 years. I had transferred from the California Skin Institute in Castro Valley to the California Skin Institute in Fremont so I could be closer to home. My first appointment with Dr. Gorosulowsky was on 3-14-23. The staff got me an appointment right away with Dr. Gorosulowsky for the Moh’s surgery for the removal of a basil cell carcinoma on the right side of the nose. . The Moh’s surgery took about 3.5 hours because it was intrusive and required a skin graph. The scar is getting less noticeable with time. I was recently there on for the removal of a Squamous Cell Carcinoma which was above the right side of my lip. The Moh’s surgery was done on 1-30-24. Fortunately it was caught early and was only in the top layer of skin.

EDIT: second visit went a lot better! They took me in fast and they also helped me book my next appointment without hassle. There was great teamwork and I exited with a great boost of confidence in my health. The only reason why I’m giving this review four stars is because of the very lengthy weight I had to go through. Initially, I waited one hour in the waiting room, which then prompted me to ask the receptionist what was going on — I was questioning what happened when I saw that others go in before me, who had arrived later than me. Then I overheard the reception is saying that they had forgotten about my appointment and so that was really triggering to me. Eventually when I got into a room, the room wasn’t prepared with equipment to serve my diagnosis so I had to wait for another room to open up, which was already occupied. So Despite, after being anxious, tired and stressed out i eventually had received the proper care I was yearning for. I believe Christine did a fantastic job opening and draining my cyst and removing the root cause of it. She was quick and I believe the care was honest and delicate and I truly appreciate it

This was my first visit to this facility. I have to say the front office staff is very profesional and pleasant. They greeted me upon my arrival and although they could not find my file in the stack of appointments, they proceeded to check me in. I was called in on time and was greeted by two assistants, one in training. I like that they took their time to introduce themselves and go over the questions regarding my history and why I was there to be seen. They made me feel comfortable. Physician Assistant Nguyen came in, asked me what I was being seen for, my history and proceeded to exam me, all the while explaining what she was doing and the next steps. She is very nice and listened to everything I had to say. She also made me feel comfortable, with it being my first time seeing her. She provided me with some answers, prescription and explained to me what each prescription should do. And that I should be rechecked in a few weeks. From beginning to end, the staff was professional and quite welcoming.

Of course I became depressed as I looked horrible, but Dr. G diagnosed it as eczema, which I’ve had all my life but never around my eyes, so difficult to treat & manage.. then he prescribed me Dupixent last year and it’s been a life saver!!! I was worried he would have to re-schedule, but everyone was so kind and patient, and he was allowed to keep his appointment. Dr. David Gorsulowsky is the best dermatologist I've ever met. He put my chronic eczema problem (recurring over 20 years) to bed, and I am most grateful for his treatment! I've seen several dermatologists for my problem for a long time, and they only offered temporary remedy. He is also very friendly and personable during my visits. He was raised in the south and a gentleman. I would be selfish if I wish he never retires! It would be difficult to find another dermatologist as good as he is.
