From the moment you first walk in and you are greeted by Ms. Maria, to the back office staff and care providers, I trust California Skin Institute 100% with my skin!! I had shown my PCP an area on my leg that was growing and changing color. She said that it looked fine to her and she’ll just keep an eye on it. At my 6 month wellness check with my PA I asked for a referral to California Skin Institute. They did a biopsy on the place on my leg and it came back as melanoma, the worst kind of skin cancer. Now, I am seen every 3 months to check the largest organ of my body, my skin! I have no hesitation at all recommending California Skin Institute.

Check-in took just a few minutes. I was seated in one of the examination rooms quickly. I was screened right away by an associate and the physicians assistant entered the room promptly. I arrived a little early and was taken back about 10 minutes before my appointment time. The doctor came in a few minutes later LN2 in hand. After a few questions, he started treating me; several shots of cold and one spot was shaved for analysis. Overall, I have had extremely good experiences at CSI. As this was my first visit, I was acutely aware of the setting, as I entered, as well as the greeting. The office was clean and well appointed. The receptionist was very talented in being able to handle phone calls, people departing the office and my new patient details. The room loader, for lack of a better term, was affable, with a very pleasant manner. She asked questions about the reason for the visit and was efficient in “getting to the point.” Dr Macknet (Dale) was unassuming, but yet very direct. I liked that. There was a concerted effort to address all of my questions. The items that needed intervention were resolved on the spot. All of my concerns were addressed very professionally.

First visit to the office and I have to say the process was great! Booked the appointment online and had the appointment a few days later. My appointment was for 9:30 am, I arrived 10 min early as instructed and filled out paper work, 36 min later I was walking out. Dr. Macknet has been my Dermatologist for the past several years now. Usually come in twice a year to look for possible skin cancer or other problems with my skin, moles, or other little dings to ensure there are no lurking low grade skin cancers present. It's also a good time to keep track of any possible problematic areas prior to them getting a foot hold as precursor to problem. Keeping in control of a problem before it becomes a problem!! Dr. Macknet and his friendly staff are friendly and respond well to questions and/or concerns before the become concerns. I always look forward to our visits.

Dr Magnate alway tried his best to resolve the issues. There was a time when he gave me a blood test order but the next morning his secretary called me asking me not to have the blood test done. Overnight he thought about my case and decided to give me a skin biopsy with a different blood test order. I think Dr Magnate is a good dermatologist.

California Skin Institute lost a star because of its scheduling process. I needed a prescription refilled and learned that I had to make an appointment prior to the refill request being honored. When I called the staff member was polite and helpful and scheduled an appointment two days forward in the Beaumont office. The day before my visit I called and confirmed my appointment. However, when I arrived at my scheduled appointment I was told it was in Lima Linda not Beaumont and I was missing my appointment by being at the wrong site. Since I had just driven from Loma Linda and only needed a prescription refilled, I was visibly upset. The front desk person was very nice and ask an individual standing nearby if he could see me, to which he responded “yes.” This person turned out to be a newish PA named Jason. I later realized this was a serendipitous encounter. Not only did Jason reorder my prescription but he took the time to answer my questions on other topics. I was so pleased with his customer service and professionalism that I am returning next week to have some NF1 tumors removed from my face.

He cares, is extremely knowledgeable, and knows how to communicate the knowledge very very well. Dr. Jason not only acknowledged the insecurities I was feeling but took the time to in depth actually explain what was happening with my skin and body and explain why he was prescribing me the treatments he did. He took the time to actually inform me and educate me vs just throwing the next easiest topical my way. Dr Dale Macknet has always been my dermatologist, as well as my four children and 3 of my brothers and their wives. He removed cancer from my mother’s nose and within 2 months there was zero evidence. He did an amazing facelift on her as well. Before Dr Dale used laser on my face he did peels. He would explain that on day 8 I would suddenly not be red, and he was exactly right. No amount of makeup can do what Dr. Macknet does to help me “age well” and he only does what works. He’s got the latest advice such as using TNS eye wrinkle cream, and yes it does work! His botox application always makes a difference in the right spots. Today he did an incredible job injecting my hands with a filler. They were aged and he added back the illusion of fat vs deep rows and large knuckles. I had no idea there was something available that lasted for years. I cant believe I no longer need to hide my hands in pictures. Hands are very age telling. Dr Macknet removes my spider veins at the beginning of summer. People guess me at 15 years younger thanks to his expertise. My friends ask me my beauty secrets and he’s the answer. I had some young girls say at the Y, “you are what we want to look like at your age”.
