Dr. Bloom is older so he is set in his ways. However, nothing he did to me was offensive or rude or I wouldn’t have returned. I even recently just took my teenage daughter to his office. He listened to my concerns and makes it his concern. The staff were polite. That is so important to me along with good care. I cannot tolerate rude people at all. When they’re getting paid to do a job. Some people prefer long appointments. Me I like to get straight to the point as I suffer from anxiety. So I appreciate that as well. In and out. The only thing I wish would change is the insurance would cover the things that are recommend off Amazon. Because it can be difficult to get if you are like myself, not working. However the medication, Dr. Bloom prescribed that was covered helped me and my daughter tremendously. Thank you Dr. Bloom and staff🎗️

I have been going here for about a year now after my previous dermatologist retired years ago. I was way overdue for a skin check since both my brother and father had melanoma and I had quite a few questionable areas to be looked at. I was able to get in right away on the initial appointment and subsequent appointments. I have had multiple spots burned off and have returned for follow-ups. Also, being in my late 60's and having spent my whole life in the sun my face looked it. Dr. Bloom suggested a skin care regime including probiotics, vitamins, etc. After following this for 3 months or so was a definite change. My partner continues to tell me to continue what I'm doing because it is working wonders. The Dr is great and his staff is nice. I have recommended him a number of times to friends and will continue to do so.

My wife and I have been going to the California Institute in San Mateo for several years and we are very pleased with it. The office is very clean. The employees are very helpful and agreeable. Dr. Alvin Li, our doctor, is very profesional and thorough. He is patient and takes his time to explain the procedures and what to expect after. I should start with I was late 20 minutes and then I didn’t have my insurance card, but the receptionist was so patient with me. I was able to call my wife. She gave me the number and it was not a problem at all for the receptionist her attitude was fantastic. I really appreciate that because I was a little Antsy with anxiety when I got there, the doctor was fantastic. I felt very comfortable with him and I look forward to seeing him within a year. The facility was very clean. It was all in all great experience. I got a referral from the doctor and I was able to go to the podiatrist which is in the same building so it was a win-win today. Yes, I was suggest this to anybody that needs dermatology or podiatry thank you.

I arrived 20 minutes early. Friendly greeting from staff. Everyone wore a mask which is nice. New patient check in was efficient. About 8 pages of straightforward medical information requested. They verified how I prefer to be communicated with. By the time I finished with forms, my insurance had been checked and I was told to wait. Only waited about four minutes before I was shown to exam room one. Confirmation of medical history using an iPad and asked for my preferred pharmacy should a prescription be needed. I was then told to undress to my underwear and wait. Waiting from was medically sparse but comfortable with a small space heater since it was a November morning. Only waited about another minute and a half before Dr. Bloom (male) arrived. Dr. Bloom is tall and no-nonsense and very to the point which I really liked. He asked for my medical history, gave me the once over physical visual inspection and confirmed all the details and findings on an iPad. He answered a couple of my questions and also asked his own. I offered to get my medical records from my previous dermatologist, and he explained the best way to to get them to him in detail and explained how it would save us both hassles. Again, Efficient. I get the feeling that Dr. Bloom knows his stuff - although he might not be “warm and fuzzy” he was engaged in our conversation and connected to my case and I feel strongly that if I had been alarmed about something or if I had a serious concern, he would have taken the time to reassure me. Just a feeling I got. I highly recommend Dr. Bloom and his staff at California Skin Care Clinic. Also parking is super easy.

Dr Edward Bloom is the best. And not just the warmth and sense of humor of he and his staff. He knew about my obscure skin condition and holistically treated me. Everyone in Dr. Bloom‘s office is professional and well informed regarding anything to do with dermatology. Carmen and the other ladies at the front desk are always extremely helpful, particularly when trying to fit a patient like myself into Dr. Bloom’s busy schedule - even at the last minute - if the situation warrants immediate attention. Dr. Bloom listens very well, asks very precise questions when he needs to know a bit more information about a patient’s particular skin problem, and he always has an extensive grasp of all things to do with skin conditions and such. Oftentimes prescribing medications for both external and internal healing. I highly recommend Dr. Bloom and his entire staff.

When I called to make my appt the lady on the phone gave me a lot of info so I felt ready for what to expect and the pricing. On the day of the appt, everyone in the office was so friendly (from the reception area to all the nurses/office staff). I’ve never been to a dermatologist office before, but was told dermatologists are safer for Botox because of their knowledge of skin. Now, I’m glad I listened to that advice because Dr Bloom and his staff were great in my opinion. If the office was so nice for a cosmetic skin appt, I can imagine they’d be great for all skin issues. I admit I was nervous and embarrassed getting Botox for the first time, however Dr Bloom was nice and very professional…he answered any questions that I had, made me comfortable with the process (needles always make me nervous…it does sting a little, as I expected, but the numbing anesthetic helped dull it), and he even advised on general skincare practices for sun exposure. This was my birthday present to myself this year to try to fix my “elevens” and forehead wrinkles that made me always look like I was frowning or upset, even when I smiled. I followed general aftercare rules and although it’s only been a couple of days I feel much happier with how relaxed my forehead is starting to look and feel. I would definitely recommend this office.
