Dr. Carla Smith-Ricks provided an exceptional patient experience. She went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, SEEN, heard and most of all valued. It’s rare to find a doctor who truly listens to your concerns and addresses them thoroughly. The staff were very kind and welcoming every visit.

I saw Dr Bassett as well as Smith-Ricks (mainly Dr Bassett). While he seems like a very in-demand doctor, I was eager that my (not so great) insurance was accepted there and I could see such a knowledgeable and integrative allergist who is not averse to holistic approaches. All of the staff are friendly and professional. The doctor really seems to care about his patients and treats you with kindness and good bedside manner. They gave me all the testing I needed to move forward in my life with more knowledge. While you get called in fairly quickly, waits CAN be long once you are in the exam room, so make the most of it get as much as you can taken care of at each visit! I would really suggest their office, all my experiences with them were positive. I also love that every single room has an air purifier, no fragrances here either! I wish more places did this!

I cried the first time I went to this office. Everyone is caring and the doc is thorough and actually gives me time. Dr. Bassett and his PA Carla Smith-Ricks took the time needed to really understand my issue, ask follow-ups, and think through next steps. They talked through options, but in my situation, we decided I would wait a few weeks instead of doing tests that were likely to present false-positives. Dr. Bassett is also interested in looking at issues holistically, so while I came in for a skin issue, I got a lot of information about chronic intestinal issues too. He also recommended primary care physicians in my area. I left feeling confident that I was heard and well cared for.

The focus of this practice is improving the health of the whole person not solely the symptoms of allergy. My general health has improved dramatically with the guidance and support of Dr. Bassett and his team. Through whole-person medical care, I learned that some of the symptoms I attributed to allergy were caused by acid reflux and with a few simple tweaks of my diet, I feel much better. Because of my "allergy education," I have reduced my exposure to dust (who knew pillow covers could change my life?) and I know which foods to stay away from during allergy season because they interact with pollen/trees/grasses I'm allergic to. Still, my allergies were becoming debilitating. So I chose to decrease my symptoms with allergy shots. One of the best decisions of my life. If you are pro-active about maintaining good health, go see Dr. Bassett!

Dr Reenal Patel is the first doctor to ever help me get rid of my migraines which I started to have after 40. I suffered from daily migraines particularly in the Spring and Fall. After an allergic panel and assessment, she figured out the root cause by taking a different approach than other doctors. I no longer take Sumatriptan for migraines but instead follow her daily regimen. I am so thankful to her and Elizabeth for their help. The staff is attentive and friendly as well. Thank you all!!

Now I'm finally able to resume allergy immunotherapy treatment. Dr. Patel is a good listener, carefully tracks my symptoms and has helped me to attack my allergies on multiple fronts, including environmental changes, careful monitoring and adjustments to asthma and allergy medications and a program of SLIT to hopefully reduce my response to allergens. This is the first year that I have not had a major asthma exacerbation in many years!

Being a first time patient the experience was quiet impressive. I was recommend to Dr. Bassett for my chronic sinus issues. He called several doctors himself to get me into an ENT facility right away for some testing. Meaning he did the leg work to ensure that I was cared for properly. The appointment was quiet long and due to his due diligence to ensure that I was going to have proper care. As a patient with fears of doctors he made me feel safe that I would be taken care of.

Can't say enough positive things about this office, especially Dr. Susanna Silverman. I called to make an appointment and they fit me in the next morning. I had a lengthy explanation of my allergy history and she listened to each word, took notes and treated me accordingly. It might be the first time I felt listened to by a doctor and not dismissed or rushed. She took time to explain everything to me and carefully answered all of my (possibly ridiculous) questions and anecdotes. It felt like the top priority here was patient care - a rarity these days. Brought my 7 year old daughter in last week after seeing a previous Allergist that I was unimpressed with. Great experience overall and Dr Patel spent a great deal of time with us trying to figure out what my daughter was potentially allergic to. I've had plenty of Dr visits with my two daughters over the years, and most of the time the Dr's are rushing and trying to see their next patient, so it was a pleasant surprise that we received so much attention and a thorough diagnosis.

Dr. Patel was incredibly warm, knowledgeable and genuine. Even though the office was incredibly busy, she took the time to sit down, explain everything to my six year old and I, and answered all questions patiently and sincerely. I really appreciated her warm gentle way with my LO and the nurses were equally kind and professional. My kid loved the dinosaur stickers and lollipops she was gifted on the way out - a truly enjoyable visit. We obtained a quick and clear diagnoses from our visit there. This office is incredibly efficient and effective. Also - we were seen at our exact appointment time and did not have to wait, which is always a bonus for me. Highly recommend.

I started going to Dr. Patel for my toddler's skin condition that was misdiagnosed by multiple pediatricians and dermatologists. She immediately diagnosed it and put us on a regime that immediately controlled it. She then answered every email we sent thoroughly and we went in to follow up multiple times. I then went to see Dr. Patel for my chronic post nasal drip that I had forever. She and the PT Liz were so helpful and encouraging, such a difference from the dozen of doctors I've seen over the years. They tested me and diagnosed me and put me on a regime to get my condition and my life under control and back on track. I can not say enough good things about this practice, the level of and humanity, and my experience. I HIGHLY recommend these guys to everyone I know now. Do yourself a favor, go to a very good doctor and practice!!!

I simply cannot say enough good things about the entire team at Allergy and Asthma Care of NY! They are all fantastic and really take the time to tailor treatment to your individual needs. I have seen multiple other allergists while living in other cities, but Dr. Bassett and Dr. Patel were the first to note that my testing indicated I had outgrown my egg and shellfish allergies. They made me feel comfortable throughout my food challenge testing and I am now able to eat these foods that I had been unnecessarily avoiding for years! I currently am utilizing their practice for allergy shots and am routinely impressed by the efficiency and speed with which the shots are administered (no long waits like many other offices). Truly everyone here -- the front desk team, the nurses, the doctors -- are some of the friendliest (and most knowledgeable) people you could hope to meet.

Being a patient isn't always easy, so when you meet people who know what a true patient experience should feel like-it's amazing. I want to...no...I must share my experience with Allergy and Asthma Care of New York . If you want to come to a place where you are seen, heard, and the medical professionals are kind and knowledgeable ...this place is for you! I My direct care was by PA Rothstein, Dr. Silverman, RN Judy, and Marisol . These are the "Angels of Allergy"!. All are sweet, smart, and caring!! The most time was with PA Rothstein who spent time and investment investigating my needs, explaining the plan of care. You could tell she genuinely wants the best outcome for you and will spend whatever time or energy for her to best ensure that. She is a Godsend. The other "angels" were also people who look at your individual complaints and needs. Just a wonderful staff. I don't remember all the other names of staff I interacted with, but from the front desk to everyone else-they too deserve recognition for their kindness and professionalism. I was introduced to other physicians including Dr. Patel and Dr. Bassett. Wonderful and impressive doctors who weren't even involved in my care. It is clear that Dr. Bassett runs a well run, good intentioned, knowledgeable, genuine, intelligent , caring group of people who have an understanding of what patient care is. I have been going to Allergy and Asthma Care of New York on Park Ave for more than a year for chronic urticaria. This office is wonderful. Everyone is professional and very caring for its patients. Dr. Silverman, Dr. Patel, Elizabeth and Judy are very knowledgeable and very accommodating. They use the most current treatment methods to tackle my health issues. They are also accessible via phone and e-mails and often go out of their ways to make sure that their patients are well. The office staffs are also very helpful. I highly recommend this office for allergy treatment.

My first visit to Allergy & Asthma Care of New York = MIND BLOWN. I had such a super thorough visit! I was immediately impressed with the medical staff. They took one look up my nose and knew I had chronic allergies. From there, they tested me for potential reactions to plants, mold, animals, and provided a detailed plan of action for how I could live my life without a tissue box in my purse. My friends and family just thought I was always sick, but I knew living life with constant sneezing fits and an endlessly runny nose all year long, was not normal. I am now eager to start my allergy shots and improve upon my quality of life! In addition to telling me what I was allergic to, how my body reacts to it and why, the expert staff here also give you daily living tips like what pillow protectors, humidifiers and laundry settings work best for optimizing your level of comfort; helping to free you even more from the daily struggles of having allergies. The staff is warm, funny and their friendly bedside manner is super refreshing. You can tell the staff loves what they do. They are pros with an abundance of knowledge and I only wished I had come here sooner to address my allergy issues. All my questions were answered and I walked away from my first appointment feeling like there was not only hope, but a viable solution to my daily suffering.
