Due to my phone was out of service for 4 days I took my son to his appointment and was told a text message was sent out to inform me the day before that the primary dentist doctor is off the day of (I did not receive). They were able to squeeze my child in the time slot for that morning. I’m glad everything worked out smoothly. The people environment is super friendly and very kind. My son of 11 years old enjoy going there to each visit since he was 2 years old, sadly my 18 year old have to find another dentist to go to. Would recommend Metropolitan Dental to anyone for their children to experience.

All experiences thus far have been positive. The staff have been great, however our little one just went today and we were blown away by Brook. Brook was PHENOMENAL and went above and beyond ensuring our little one was comfortable and understood what was going on. He was the most anxious this visit, but it was the first time he got through everything we needed to do. We are grateful for Brook and her patience, and going the extra mile for our sweet boy who struggled so much. It was due to her extra patience and communication that he trusted her and was able to do what was needing to get done. Thank you, Brook!

This was my daughter's first ever visit to the dentist and all I have to say is WOW! The staff was absolutely incredible. We were greeted right away by the front desk and our hygienist was amazing! She was so sweet to my daughter by showing her all the little utensils she was going to use and put on finding Nemo for my girl. I can't describe how grateful I am to have found such a great dentistry. I wish we had staff like that when I was a child.

If I could I'd leave a 10 star review. This dentist is off the charts! Dr. Sotillo & Samantha are genuinely caring & kind. They engage with the kids & make them laugh. My youngest has extremely bad anxiety. She would cry just thinking about going to the dentist. The first visit here made her feel more at ease. They got to know her & took the time to let her feel heard. She told me she couldn't wait to go back. This is not something that she has ever felt or said before. We came back the next day & they fixed 3 cavities so quickly. She was calm & allowed it all to be done. I wish I could convey how this is not how she usually is. I am beyond grateful for Dr. Sotillo & Samantha! They are amazing!!

The most kid friendly staff, Tablets on the wall in the waiting area, TV's on the ceiling in rooms for kids to watch while they are getting work done on their teeth. I've been going here since 1995 and just love this Dental office for my kids!! Very kind and informative staff, clean, quite, nice facility. Love it here!! I drive 40 minute commute to continue going here for my kids.

They are respectful, patient, joyful and accommodating as they take care of her needs. They have found many ways to make the experience feel more comfortable for her. My 2 year old son came in for an appointment today. He was scared and started crying when we got back to the exam room. Both Dr. Flamenbaum and the hygienist (so sorry, I forgot her name!) remained calm and stayed positive. I know it must be hard to work on a little toddler who is terrified, but his crying didn't seem to bother them at all and they were so patient and friendly. He got stickers and his choice of a toy at the end of the appt- I think that officially won him over :) I also really appreciated Dr. Flamenbaum taking the time to explain an issue with my son's teeth, and making sure I understood. We have been seeing Dr Brian Grove and various assistants for over a year. My 5 year old says that she “loves Dr Grove”. We have 4 kids at various ages and they all feel comfortable going to the dentist. They also enjoy going. Dr. Grove and all the assistants we have seen help the kids feel safe and connected. I appreciate the time that Dr Grove takes to listen to questions and go over options. I feel like he truly cares, and takes a more conservative approach. We highly recommend this dental office! The best Dentist and team I have ever had for my son. My son has enamel hypoplasia. He's been to 3 other Dentists. MPDA is the only office that told me how severe the enamel hypoplasia is. The 3 other Dentists just said he has it. Also, this is the first time any Dentist has attempted to save the teeth, the rest just wanted to crown them.

Great with my daughter who had a lot of anxiety and was fighting the entire time. They do what they need to and what’s best for the health and well-being of our children. My daughter had a bad infected tooth and they had to pull it out. She is 8- strong and stubborn and wanted to fight the whole way. She needed it out and we did what we had to but they were very professional and helped to get it out in the best way possible. They did their best to be as kind and thoughtful as they could and I’m beyond grateful for how well they did. I had both my kids with for appointments and they watched my youngest for me and kept her busy so I was able to be with my oldest and help her through the process. Great place! All professional, friendly providers whom are wonderful at making children feel comfortable. Always explain things thoroughly and I never feel pressured to do unnecessary procedures. We've been coming here for years. Update: my daughter recently had an injury over the weekend. The office's emergency line responded quickly and we felt very well taken care of. The doctors and front office staff are amazing here. I sometimes have difficulty working with the dental hygienists we have seen. I know working with children all day long is taxing, but it is a pediatric clinic. I sometimes feel like they are rolling their eyes at me and tired of working with my child. Amazing staff, very good with children and does amazing surgical dental work if needed. My child, when he was four had his front tooth capped and you couldn't event tell it was "fake". Fast forward to my younger child who needed crowns in front by a different dental office, they look horrible. They are 10/10 recommended. MPDA for all children's dental needs.

My kids are always welcomed with a smile, given a never ending amount of understanding and patience and get an explanation of what’s going to happen, if needed. From the front desk staff, to the hygienists and to the doctors- my kids have always felt safe, heard, welcome, and treated as if they were family. My family first started there 14yrs ago, or so- and we took a 2 yr break for something closer, and out of “peds” (since I have 6 kids with an 11yr difference), but that was the biggest mistake ever. Luckily my younger 3 were young enough to return, and we won’t leave there until they “phase out” of ped dentistry! I appreciate them so much!

After getting the run around about my daughter's painful abscess for over two weeks at different places we finally found a solution here. I came in fully expecting to have to have a diagnostic visit and need to schedule a second for treatment. Thankfully they treated the same day. My daughter is back to eating and drinking like her normal self today. She got her first tooth fairy experience early and with a generous dose of drama but she's healthy again.

I have been here a few times and seen Dr. Sotillo with my daughter. On our very first visit she came in with “shark teeth” that I was concerned about so he agreed to remove her baby teeth - and sang to her in spanish to calm her. Every visit has been a good experience. We also did see Dr. Lipschultz one time, and he was great as well. We’ve had two different dental hygienists working with my daughter primarily - both were very professional, and very good with her. One saw my daughter the first few times (wish I remembered her by name!) stuck out to me because she was knowledgeable about neurodiverse kids!

I'm really glad we were able to follow Dr. Mani here from her previous office. The hygienists and front desk ladies are just great! Dr. Mani's bedside manner is fabulous! You feel like you're family when you come in. This location is hands down the best pediatric dentist we've ever been to. They have plenty of time to address your concerns and to explain things so you can understand. I would go here myself if they saw adults! Lol.

Missy, the hygienist, did an amazing job with both my kids ages four and six. She was very enthusiastic and kept them talking about themselves. She used kid friendly language to get them to do scary things such as “freeze like Anna does in Frozen” while getting X-rays for the first time. I cannot say enough about how pleased I was with our experience here. They far exceeded our expectations. We left the Riverdale Pediatric clinic after a terrible experience there. The Riverdale Pediatric clinic was never patient enough with my autistic son to get a full exam with him. On our FIRST visit to Metropolitan Pediatric Dental they were able to complete the entire exam....I was so impressed and astonished, as I never thought it would happen. I cannot thank this clinic enough! I am so glad we found them!!!!

I absolutely love Dr. Tafoya- she sang to my son while he got his cavities filled without the nitrous gas. My son who is ocd and has anxiety didn’t do well with nitrous the first time around and they all were still very amazing. We came back to get his teeth crowned and they were so good with him! For a child with anxieties they were accommodating with trying without gas. I love this dental office!

They are amazing!!! Just like they previous review, staff will take time and call you to remind you to schedule appointment. I am very grateful for that. Life can be very hectic and sometimes it's hard to keep up with all the appointments. The Dentist is very caring and compassionate and the staff as well. They made sure my daughter was comfortable and well taken care off. I felt reassured and was informed of whatever was being done. My daughter now keeps saying when she grows up she wants to be a Dentist!

Very friendly staff! So great for a child's first dentist experience (and thereafter). They do a great job of making it not scary by explaining what they're doing and using kid friendly names for their tools (Mr. Thirtsy is the suction straw). There is a TV and many mounted tablets in the waiting room to pass the time, but I've rarely had to wait. They also have tv's over some of the chairs for when kids are getting fillings or having procedures. Highly recommend. Even after moving to a much further north part of the metro, I still bring my kids to Fridley for their dental care.
