Definitely 5 out of 5 stars! There have been so many great improvements: 1-The sound-deadening material on the ceiling really helps create a much quieter and more relaxing experience. 2- Having The sauna options are amazing — hot and hottest! 2-The latest technology, the red light therapy and massage compression boots, are incredible. The reception team is also fantastic. Everyone is always smiling, friendly, and helpful. A special mention to Sam, who helped us so much during sign-up and has continued to assist us whenever we’ve needed anything afterwards. Really happy with my recovery experience!
My daughter took me to Merse for Mother’s Day yesterday. I hadn’t been there before and I was really looking forward to our visit. It was even better than I expected because a beautiful lady greeted us at the desk. Her name is Lucille and if I had a business I would want someone just like her working for me. Lucille is a real people person and can’t do enough to make sure you’re looked after. The rest of the staff were beautiful as well and were constantly checking with people to make sure they were well looked after. Merse is a beautiful place, so luxurious and I’ll be going again. Thank you Lucille for helping to make our day unforgettable ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😊
A wonderful, relaxing recovery space. The staff were pleasant and welcoming, and the facility was beautiful and impeccably clean. There are great options including saunas, a steam room, and hot and cold plunge pools at varying temperatures, as well as compression therapy and infrared saunas. The cold water and tea station was a lovely touch. I’ll definitely be returning!

From the moment you walk in, the team makes you feel welcome and genuinely cared for. They are always busy cleaning, handing out towels, and checking on everyone, and they do it all with kindness, warmth, and energy. Merse is an excellent spa, and staff like Lucie, Nikki, and Lauren are a big part of what makes it so special. Thank you to the whole team for the care and effort you put in every day.
I’ve had some really positive experiences at Merse Wellness Spa in Virginia, and I want to specifically acknowledge Lucy for her exceptional quality of service. Lucy is incredibly customer-focused and consistently goes above and beyond for members. A great example of this was when I had misplaced a Bluetooth speaker and was told by other staff that it wasn’t at the spa. When Lucy was on, she took the extra time and care to properly check — and found it immediately. That level of attention and effort makes a real difference. She genuinely cares about members, pays close attention to detail, and ensures people feel valued and well served. Lucy is exactly the kind of team member who keeps members loyal and contributes to the vitality and longevity of the business. Merse Wellness Spa is fortunate to have her.
First I came for a free trial and that night was the first night in many months I slept peacefully, without joint pain and woke refreshed. Then I signed up for a two week trial which is an amazing good deal with full unlimited access to all services for $69. My chronic pain from osteoarthritis in feet, hips and spine continued to reduce, I slept better, I felt relaxed and happier. So now I’ve signed up membership and I’m prioritising this in my life because of how beneficial it is to my health and wellbeing. The staff are so friendly and helpful, especially Joseph, Chloe and Lauren. But they’re all so nice! I have been sharing this experience with my friends and social network because everyone needs goodness in their weekly life. Merse is so clean, well managed, there are all ages, cultures, sizes and types of people and it’s a very respectful safe place. I’m so impressed with the calm respectful vibes every time I visit. The membership packages are very good value if you use the services included. The loyalty benefits are an added bonus, a cherry on top. I’m really just so impressed and grateful to have found Merse. I only found it because I searched locally when my GP who is a chronic pain specialist recommended Infrared sauna as best treatment in current medical evidence for chronic pain. But now I’m also benefiting from compression therapy and bathhouse 🙏🏼☺️👣🍏🚿🫶🏻
We spent Valentine's Day at Merse Virginia's Valentine's event. I'm already a member and have been many times but this was extra special! We were greeted warmly with champagne and chocolates and loved all the details to make our time there special. We loved the cute cupcakes Lucie made as an extra treat too! Lucie's always so helpful and goes above and beyond every time we go! The guitar player/singer and the dim lights set a nice atmosphere. We were a little worried about how busy it might be but we shouldn't have been because it didn't feel like it had been overbooked, everything felt really organised and we all had enough space to be able to enjoy the night! Thanks again for an awesome night! 💕
Had a session the other night and it was unreal. Lucy absolutely made it. She’s welcoming, calm, and genuinely cares about how your visit goes. It’s the little things — checking in, explaining things properly, making you feel comfortable — that lift the whole experience. The facilities are top tier, super clean, and the free herbal tea selection is a great touch between rounds. Everything runs smoothly and you can properly switch off. Walked out feeling reset and looked after.

Just did two weeks of a membership. Extremely good facilities, very accomodating and helpful staff. The compression therapy has been so beneficial for my mother's arthritis. Great infrared sauna option. I want to say a thank you to staff member Lucie for inspiring my mother to accomplish a whole 5 minutes in the 6 degree pool.

From the moment you walk in, she greets you with genuine kindness and attentiveness, always making you feel welcome and cared for. She’s constantly on the move -mopping the floors, handing out towels, checking in on everyone -nothing is ever too much trouble for her. Her energy and dedication don’t go unnoticed. Lucy has even encouraged my whole family to become regulars at Merse, which says everything about the impact she has. Merse itself is a beautiful, calming environment, but Lucy is what truly makes it incredible.

I've been to Merse on a number of occasions to visit the bathhouse. The staff have always been lovely. I've seen Lucie and Molly on a few visits and they're always very welcoming and helpful. There are two saunas, two cold plunges (varying temps), one large 'just right' pool and three warm pools which works with the popularity of each area to make sure things aren't too crowded. The space also doesn't have a strong chemical smell which is incredibly popular at bathhouses. It's good to be able to enjoy the space without feeling suffocated. The only downside other than improvements being made to the general wear and tear would be the noise levels. Unfortunately the signs asking for customers to respect others and keep conversations at a low volume are frequently ignored. Loud conversations are a almost constant issue. Please learn to be respectful of others and WHISPER. Ive previously cut my visit short due to high noise levels. Staff have come in to give a general reminder to be quiet during one of our visits but perhaps a verbal reminder upon arrival and some additional, larger signs would be more effective. Thank you again to the team who work to keep the space clean and welcoming.
Merse Wellness Spa is really lovely inside, beautifully set up with plenty of options including red light, massages, cold and hot plunges and saunas. The facilities themselves are great. The online booking system is honestly a bit annoying. You have to create an account and give personal details just to make a booking. It is much easier to just call up and book over the phone. The only real letdown was the staff member at reception. She rushed through the introduction in about a minute, spoke so fast we had to ask her to repeat things twice, and it just felt like she did not want to be there. It set the wrong tone for what is otherwise an awesome place.
