My personal opinion of the OSM surgery center is that I feel that you could not find a better surgical center. I have been there 3 times so far and everyone is very nice. The nurses are very thuroug at making sure that all patient surgery information is correct and mark which eye is the correct one for surgery. They take excellent care of the patient and their needs. I have had 2 surgeries with Dr. Ahmed and he is such a kind and friendly person. I am so thankful that I found Dr. Ahmed, he kept reassuring me that I would not have any pain during the 2 procedures and he was absolutely right on target about that. Thanks to everyone at OSM for being so kind and pleasant.

Dr. Ellenberg performed my second vitrectomy with a loose lens repositioning. It went so much better than my first vitrectomy that I regard it as virtually perfect. The surgery lasted only a short time. I was sedated partially, but I could respond to the surgeon and hear him throughout. During the short operation, he was trading his wife's chicken soup recipe with those of his assistants. Who needs Comedy Central? My eye sight is completely clear now. All I need is a new prescription to focus things perfectly. I'm advised to wait a couple of weeks, however, to let things settle down after discontinuing the steroid and antibiotic eye drops. I give both the Outpatient Surgery Center in Livonia and Dr. Ellenberg top marks for their professional performance.

So impressed! Smooth sailing from the first pre-op visit to the wheelchair ride to the car. I received clear instructions, as well as my eye drop prescriptions, at the pre-op visit. They also gave instructions to my husband of what to expect, the rest of the day, which was very helpful. I received a follow up phone call, where questions or concerns could be addressed. Very happy! Ditto for the second surgery! Everything positive. Life changing experience for someone who has worn glasses and contacts since age 6.

I can’t express more strongly my happiness with the results from my cataract surgery. After a couple days of blurriness my vision is incredibly sharp and clear. I had to go to the Dearborn office for my initial visit. I was super impressed with the friendliness and efficiency of the entire staff. I would have the rest of my visits at the Livonia office. The first surgery went fine. The nurses were so attentive. The anesthesia was fine. The procedure was fast. After my first eye surgery it was like looking out the wrong end of binoculars. It’s been 5 weeks and my distance with that eye is not clear. It is great for computer work but not reading. The second eye is still healing. It was a bit scary. When I came out I could see nothing! The second day my sight was shadowy. And the third day my vision was back. Yay! I’m pleased with the results but never having had to wear glasses all I have to compare it with was my God given vision. Hands down God is the winner! But I’m old and grateful for corrective eye surgeries. Thank you OSM staff and Dr Kleinfeldt.

The front desk, pre-op and post-op staff were excellent! 5stars. During my pre surgery visits Dr. Kleinfelt was only in the room for about 1 minute and didn’t give me any information or explain my options and about what was going to happen during and after the surgery. I was given a packet to read. I felt like a number to him. He didn’t even know my name. He rushed out of the room so fast. The techs were much better and took the time to answer my questions.

A spontaneous retinal tear resulted in a somewhat emergent need for surgery to repair the tear. Dr. ellenberg and all staff were simply the best!! Caring, calming and did their jobs wonderfully. Should the unfortunate need for an eye surgery present itself, I will not hesitate to come here again. They really are great!

Wow! They made me feel so comfortable and relaxed that it wasn’t as hard as I thought it was. Very nice people from reception, through registration., Surgery prep, surgery itself, and recovery. The ONLY negative was what no one had control over: once checked in there was about a 30 minute wait before I was taken for prep. Then after prep, about 70-80 minutes before my surgery. Because of covid: this meant over two and half to three hours of sitting in the car-by the time I was wheeled out. I, of course, was not aware as much of any time. During this the nurses communicated with me kept me comfortable and the front receptionist called my husband to advise of delay. So, handled very well !’
