Very good, we hired a campervan for a week and everything was good. Good introduction at the pickup. We were also late for the dropping in Sydney cause we got lost in the traffic but the staff there was very understanding and service minded. I would love to rent from jucy again some time :)
Great value for money hire van company
Easy check in, good friendly staff. Make sure you check gas stove before leaving in case cartridges are empty like ours were but we just got more from a hardware worked. Also get your own dish liquid as they don't provide this.

This was my second time using Jucy, I love the community feel every time you pass another green machine every one waves, flashes their lights and smiles! We named our girl “Lucy Jucy” we were very comfortable and felt safe touring the South Island of New Zealand “ Best trip ever! “ I highly recommend Jucy they’re in Australia and New Zealand and have multiple drop off and pickup points. So convenient and easy to use. I called Jucy as I thought my fridge wasn’t working, the lady was awesome and guided me through the process ( I needed to turn it on with the key pad on the van wall) it’s so neat that you don’t really need to plug in all the time either. Just take your own plug for the cigarette lighter, to charge your devices whilst travelling, the fridge and lights work on batteries powered by solar. #ilovemyjucygirl!

JUCY NZ was absolutely amazing! I rented a Suzuki Swift for 10 days and did a road trip from Queenstown to Christchurch, and the whole experience was fantastic. From start to finish, the process was incredibly easy. The staff were friendly, helpful and provided outstanding service. The car was spotless when I picked it up, came with a full tank of fuel, and was surprisingly comfortable and very fuel-efficient — perfect for exploring the South Island. Everything was straightforward and hassle-free, which made the road trip even more enjoyable. I’d definitely use JUCY again and highly recommend them to anyone looking to hire a car in New Zealand!

The van was clean, comfortable and reliable. The equipment was all in good working order and most importantly the bed was comfortable. Also picking up and dropping off the van was seamless.

The man at front of desk was amazing! His humour and his introduction to a training new staff member made the experience for all easy going (I was nervous travelling on my own). The Van was amazing and you had all that was needed. I thought the fridge was a bonus touch and charging port because of the extra battery especially at a sports tournament. Able to charge phone during the day and collect cold drink and food also. Overall amazing and would definitely hire again! I'm fact a young Mcds worker asked us about it and told him he should take the leap and travel this way. This coming from a 5 star hotel booker. Really humbling experience reminded me of days with my grandparents the way NZ use to be.

My experience with JUCY
The car was super well designed and very practical. You could fold the bed away and set up a table instead. There was plenty of storage space underneath the bed. There were curtains to give you privacy in the evening, so nobody could see inside even when you had the lights on. Everything I needed was included: a blanket, pillow, sheets and towel. The cooking equipment was also provided, including cleaning supplies. The cooler was powered by a separate battery, so it could keep everything cold throughout the entire road trip. It was honestly great! The service was also excellent. The girls were very friendly and helpful, and I even got a free camping chair. The car itself was a little older and had some minor damage on the outside, but it was well maintained and drove really well. I was genuinely sad to have to return it.My next rental car from another company looked similar, but it wasn’t even half as good. The daily price was higher and absolutely nothing was included — not even a blanket or pillow! And the “fridge” was just a basic cooler that you had to fill with ice yourself.So I’m really happy I got to experience JUCY. Next time, I’ll definitely rent from them for the entire holiday!

We rented the Berta 6 for our family, and what an experience! It had a toilet and shower, three double beds that comfortably slept two adults and four children, and plenty of storage. It handled well, and the airport shuttle service was super convenient. We’d definitely recommend it!

We rented a campervan to drive from Sydney to Perth - we chose Jucy because it allows dogs on board. The van was well equipped with everything we needed and reliable. We had an incident during wild, windy weather when a side window blew out - the Jucy admin staff handled the issue efficiently and the Adelaide staff fixed the problem promptly and we were back on the road with minimal delay. Great service!

Simple, easy service. I did the online check in which made the whole process smooth. I was given the brief on the vehicle, handed the keys and I was on my way! I opted for no excess, paid the extra for peace of mind and it was still cheaper than any competitor. It’s a no frills service, but honestly, if you’re just hitting the road for a few days, it’s more than enough.

We had a very good experience with the Jucy condo. There were some small issues including one of the stove gas burners not staying on and a cracked shelf inside the fridge door. Overall we found the van comfy and staff helpful. One thing that would be appreciated would be longer hours for van return - we got back by 3pm but would have appreciated an extra hour

The idea of showing respect, greeting, and sharing information each other when July users meet on the road or in the campsites is very impressive. I have also had a few chances to do so it was wonderful. Mostly I had very wonderful experience with JUCY van. However, for the next users, I want to list 3 things to be fixed or changed on the Van that I have used this time. The first thing is, I think it is serious, roof leacking on a rainy day. Rain drops into the roof top bed. So the bad got wet when it was rainy. Somewhere in the middle of the roof on the passenger seat side. Regarding this matter, I have a video clip and a photo if you want I can send you them. Secondly, the door of the refrigerator does not lock properly, it sometimes opened when I steped on the break paddle. Lastly, the plastic bucket was broken so it should be changed as a new one. I understand these could be happened at anytime but the reason I would like to list these here is that I could be the next user as well and I would soon.

Our little RV was really well-built — better than larger vehicles we’d had before. Its size and features are just perfect for two people. It’s not big, but it has everything you need, and it’s really cute with its high roof and green paint job! It fits into any parking spot. We had a great time with it! The staff is very friendly. The value for the money is excellent!

Ease and flexibility
Jucy was a short Uber trip from Perth domestic airport. Cobie made pick-up easy. He showed us around the van. The van was a pleasure to drive. So easy. It also gave us flexibility to be spontaneous on our trip. The cost of the van resulted in good savings for the entire trip. A small fridge on board meant we could self cater. Find a park with a view, make our own lunch, and enjoy the view. It allowed for cheap overnight stops at caravan parks. Bedding was supplied with the van. Doona was warm enough for the cold nights. Drop off was easy too. The campervan made for a great experience. A great holiday overall. Thanks Jucy.

Pleasantly surprised
I was a little hesitant about renting a Jucy van, but was pleasantly surprised. I rented a Jucy Condo from Auckland airport. This was just the right size for me travelling by myself. The whole process from pickup at the airport, handover of the vehicle, return of the vehicle and drop off to the airport was fast, easy, uncomplicated and straight forward. Staff were extemely helpful and friendly. I hired a van during low season and this was really good value for money.

The booking process, the staff, pick up and drop off were all easy and great. The campervan was great to drive, so easy, even reverse parallel parking was a breeze. The layout inside the van is not ideal and bed/cushions very uncomfortable. But we still enjoyed ourselves.

Really friendly service, easy pick up and drop off service. The heater provided was a god send in the winter and the bed was very comfy. The only small thing was that we felt the van could have been cleaner when we picked it up. Some of the crockery was still dirty and there was litter left in the bed and in the front bin. Once we received the campervan, the staff was incredibly helpful in helping to plan our roadtrip, offering honest and valuable opinions regarding different destinations. He also was thorough in his instruction and explanation of how the campervan works. While I don’t exactly remember how to spell his name, the gentleman in Auckland whose name started with a K was so kind and we are grateful to him for helping make our trip to New Zealand as wonderful as it was!

Had an amazing time. We had the 3 person jucy camper with shower and toilet and it was really cramped with little storage space. You can hardly open cupboards or fit between toilet room and oven/sink. However, it was really handy having toilet, didnt use the shower as it was too cramped. There was liquid spilt at the top of the bed on top. The switches were in an awkward place by the sliding door, made it easy to bump them on & off when getting in and our of the van. There is no reverse camera, hard to see with the toilet room taking up half of the back window. I have hired the one with no toilet before, which I think was better, more space & storage. I think the price is more than it should be.

Had leaking ceiling, switched vans over to a different van, the second one still had a leaking ceiling and not equipped with any gear, the ceiling light filled with water and froze up overnight with green electrical liquid leaking out of it, we couldn’t sleep in the top bed because of how damp the blankets got, had to sleep in the bottom bed and deal with being dripped on all night. Overall not a good experience at all.

Great experience with Jucy in Christchurch. Got picked up as soon as I landed at the airport and got taken straight to the office where there was free coffee offered before you g through the paperwork. Seney (apologies if that's spelt incorrectly) went through everything in the van, explained how to work the cooker, pull the bed out and how to fill the water tank etc. I got a heater and snowchains as I was headed down to Te Anau and Milford Sound and all the duvet, pillows and bedding you could need. The van is older than some other companies and there are some bumps and dents, however that's reflected in the price being cheaper than it's rivals. Overall the van is great and adds to the travel experience! There's so many Jucy vans that you see when travelling, so just shows how popular they are!

Me and my two friends have just rented a Jucy van for two weeks. I do feel a lot of these reviews are unreasonable. I give 4 stars because one of the power sockets and part of the stove stopped working at the end of the trip. With that being said customer service were great. I’ve read reviews about cleaning charges. Guys just EMPTY YOUR TOILET it’s not their job to clean your sh*t and it’s just mad disrespectful. Dropped the van off , we cleaned up our mess beforehand. No issues staff were great

Booking a Jucy vehicle has been an experience for me and a learning curve. From the initial discussion with Ratpack Travel and my subsequent booking, was smooth and all my concerns and needs were met. What I wasn't prepared for, however, was the incessant rattling of panels as I was driving. Cutlery, crockery, pots and pans, yes. Shower door, exterior shower panelling, drivers side door and rear/boot door, definitely not. The only time they didn't rattle was when the van was stopped. Folk were actually staring at the van as I drove along..... they heard me coming! There was no way to heat the main body of the van..... just the cab. I did ask for a heater as I knew the evenings were getting cooler and may need it. I was given one to use when I was booking into a campsite. I found out to my cost, that the heater wasn't working! I finally asked at one site, if they could plug the heater in and test it for me which they did. There was power going to the heater, it was clicking as the dial was turned, but no hot air coming out.... definitely a short circuit somewhere! The lady was good enough to lend me a spare heater she had for the evening and it was very much appreciated. This hiccup wouldn't stop me renting a Jucy again, but I would look for a newer model, or take it out for a good drive before agreeing to take it for 3 weeks!

This is exactly what we were looking for to explore the south island of New Zealand. We picked up a Crib van at the Christchurch airport and made our way to Queenstown over several days, stopping at campsites in Lake Tekapo, Mt Cook, and Wanaka (pictures included of the areas where we stayed), before dropping our van at the Queenstown airport. Both pickup and dropoff were very easy. The van was spacious enough for two people (including baggage), had everything we needed for food storage and prep, and we slept very well on the bed that was surprisingly comfortable. We weren't particularly excited about the neon green car color, but it became a point of camaraderie with other JUCY campers, who would all wave and say hello as we passed each other on the road. Very happy with our experience!

Jucy rentals, cheap and cheerful
Jucy rentals gave us a Suzuki Swift for our 13 day rental. We ordered a small car and were more than happy with it. They are older cars and have high mileage but do the job without any dramas. Drop off and pick up were easy with friendly staff. There is a courtesy van from airport then after dropping off car they took us to the Sudima Hotel with is fantastic. Make sure you check the fuel before you depart. Pre departure photos showed the fuel just below full which I thought might just be as far as the gauge shows but just down the road it dropped to 3/4 full. I wasn’t worth going back as it would delay our trip so on return I mentioned it and without hesitation they credited back the equivalent amount of fuel that was missing. Very impressed they did this as I was not asking for a refund just bringing it to their attention. We will use them again.

Jucy rental cars Christchurch once again provided excellent service. The pick up from the Airport was fast and efficient with a friendly shuttle driver. Our Suzuki swift was what we expected, an older car which was clean and tidy and ready to go. The office staff are friendly and welcoming and explained everything we needed to know about the vehicle form pickup to drop off. We will use them again when we are in Christchurch. Unfortunately the fuel wasn’t full on pick up and we didn’t notice until we had driven off, it was too much hassle to go back. On our return they refunded us the difference between 3/4 full and full. This was done without hesitation and much appreciated.

We rented a condo for a week on a tour of the South Island. For two people, the space is perfect, with a kitchen, indoor and outdoor tables, and two spacious beds. The only downside is the fuel consumption, which can become a headache if you accelerate too much, but we drove very carefully, always maintaining an average of 80 km/h, and achieved a final average of 8 km/l. We alternated between paid and free campsites during that week. Everything worked in the van, except for the driver's door, which only closed with the lock, and we used another lock to open it, but other than that, we had no problems. The experience on the road changes a lot when you cross paths with other green Jucy vans; everyone seems to be on the same vibe and waves to each other, it's really cool! The van is very easy to operate and drive, and the team's service was very quick, and we had no problems with the van pick-up.

Firstly, very good value! Way cheaper than other companies. The transfer pickup was fine at ChCh although the actual handover took a while. The car had been "well used" but drove us nearly 4000km in four weeks without a hitch. The Auckland hand back was smooth once we had navigated to the correct place (use the address but NOT the google map link). Staff there were friendly and the area was comfortable while we awaited our airport transfer. All in all a very good experience for not a lot of money.

I loved the sense of camaraderie among others travelling with Jucy! we immediately noticed people in passing Jucy's would wave at us, so we started initiating waves whenever we would pass another Jucy van, it was such a simple and fun little highlight of our trip. We had a rental car for the end half of our trip but we would still always excitedly point out when we saw any Jucy nearby & occasionally even waved for fun even though we weren't even in the van anymore. The only issue we had was the sensitive alarm system in the Jucy Chaser (gen2), we accidentally set it off several times. The van would automatically lock itself a couple minutes after being unlocked even when the sliding doors were open, and the alarm would trigger if we forgot to press 'unlock' on the key fob before closing the sliding doors, which was a fiddly quirk to navigate at first, but we got used to this pretty quickly. We woke up in a fright one night to the alarm randomly going off at 1am in a holiday park, unsure of what triggered this alarm but glad we placed the keys in a convenient spot that night so we were able to find them somewhat quickly & 'unlock' to stop the alarm. Regardless, it was an extremely difficult goodbye to the van, we missed it dearly for the remainder of our trip! It was comfy, well maintained and great on the road, we are looking forward to our next trip with Jucy! :)

The sea of negative reviews made me a bit worried but I can't fault our experience. Pick up was quick and easy although the staff did look very rushed off their feet. Then the van (condo) worked well. Ate fuel like mad but that's the reality of the design. Overall very comfortable and good amount of headroom. We were only 2 people and I think 4 would have felt quite cramped. Final note when I returned the van the woman asked me if everything was ok, and looked very surprised when I said it was! Don't know what that says about most people's experience but no complaints from us.

Given the amount of negative reviews, we were a bit apprehensive when we went to this location to pick up our camper van, but we didn’t have to wait very long and the staff we interacted with was very friendly. Make sure all props (proper hose to refill water tank, etc.) are there before you leave and ask for an overview if you’re not familiar with how everything works — we did and were assisted very kindly by a nice young German woman (wish I’d gotten her name — danke!). While our Jucy was also one of the old models (it’s seem all - or most of them - are), we didn’t have any issues during our 10 day road trip, and had a great time driving through the South Island. We also enjoyed the brotherhood/sisterhood of the Jucy, waving at each Jucy that we passed. :)

I do wish it was a newer model as it had a ton of miles on it, no cruise control, and sucked gas super fast (way worse than other camper vans we’ve had). The staff were great - Ollie dropped us off at the airport and was very friendly! Our favorite part of having a JUCY campervan was waving at all the other JUCY vehicles along the road trip. Funny enough we didn’t know this was a thing at first but quickly found out as almost everyone waved! Great time in NZ.

We got generation 1 of condo campervan and you could feel that the vehicle was not new, this was the negative part. A part from that a issue with the stove during the trip so I recommend to test everything at pick up to avoid problems later. For two people it’s comfortable, quality price was ok since it was high season. No mechanical issues, I can mention that the vehicle is quite thirsty.

Jucy was amazing value. Our assigned ‘condo’ campervan was 20 years old, didn’t have any bells or whistles, but had lots of personality and quirks. We will be talking and laughing about our Jucy experience for decades to come. It was memorable and fun to be part of the community. But I would NEVER rent one again as the van barely made it up the mountain passes. I was truly terrified on several occasions that the van wasn’t able to handle the constant inclines of the roads across the South Island. Plan you trip carefully if you rent here and think twice about crossing Arthur’s Pass.

Amazing experience, we rented the 3 berth camper self contained unit for our family of 3. It was compact but had everything we needed to keep our adventure going. The gen 1 vehicles are older-aka not in 'new' condition, but everything worked great for us. The shower is so small we didn't end up using it but could have if needed. Thankfully the camp sites we stayed at all had showers and kitchens if needed. The size made it easy to drive all of the small windy roads we traveled on even if at a very slow pace up steep hills. It got us around the entire south island easily. I would highly recommend, we're already hoping to do it again!

The van was spacious and perfect for two people — we especially loved having the top bed and fridge, which made camping so easy and stress-free. Christchurch Jucy were extremely accommodating to myself whilst visiting my son in Christchurch. I was collected from the airport, no waiting around and taken directly to their depot. Picked up jucy in Queenstown and returned in Christchurch after a road trip. The crews were excellent and dropoff/pickup both went smoothly. The crew at Christchurch were there early and drove me to the airport even though the shuttle wasn't running yet. If you prefer a more compact vehicle than the typical motorhome but still with toilet and shower to be able to free camp then this is a great option. Parking is one of the big advantages to the Chaser as you can pull up anywhere. Being able to have an upper and lower bed was something we took advantage of from time to time and was easy to set up. Jucy staff were super helpful at the airport for pickup and return. Our vehicle didn’t miss a beat on the trip. Had a great time!

We picked up our Chaser van at this location, returned in Aukland, and went on to rent another Jucy vehicle out of Brisbane. The Christchurch location was by far the best!! The best service with friendly, helpful, staff and clear directions which made the process very easy. We felt well taken care of and they were very helpful when our key broke several days into the rental and got us a locksmith that repaired it and they covered the costs since it was due to normal wear and tear. We had our Jucy for 12 days and picked it up in Christchurch and dropped it off in Queenstown. There are soooo many campervan options in New Zealand and my partner and I spent a long time deciding which company to rent from. The price and various drop off points tipped the scales for choosing Jucy. We rented the crib, the smallest option, for its size since we would be doing a lot of driving and wanted to save on fuel and didn’t want a giant vehicle we were nervous to drive. Overall, we were very happy with our experience. Like other reviews the pickup did take a while (2 hours) so pack your patience but otherwise the van was completely functional and was equipped with Bluetooth which was a nice touch. Our van had roughly 350,000 km on it but despite that it ran relatively smoothly. Also it was fun to spot other Jucy drivers and wave to them along the way! Below are some pros and cons Pros: 1. Plenty of sleeping space 2. Fridge/cooler battery lasted longer than expected and was perfect for us 3. Linens are cotton and were warm 4. The back windows can be rolled down from inside u 5. The bed was comfier than expected and my partner (6 foot) also said he was comfier than expected 6. Good back storage for food and such 7. Cost (roughly $1000 USD for 12 days) 8. Van was cleaned well when we picked it up 9. Multiple drop off locations 10. Camaraderie among other Jucy users Cons: 1. they charge extra for camp chair and table, both of which were broken and I think they should come with the van if they are busted. 2. All the dishes are ceramic which is a little nerve wracking for packing everything in 3. Minimal storage. You have to move almost all your stuff into the front at night to make the bed 4. Horrible pillows 5. Long pickup time 6. Some notches on the curtains were broken 7. Near the end of our stint other things started to break, like the pantry door and the key fob would not lock the van at times.

We read a lot of the reviews before picking up our Jucy Condo and have been a little bit scared 😅 but actually everything worked out fine, we did not wait a long time at pickup, maybe an hour, and could return the car even faster. We’ve driven all around the South Island and did not have a single problem besides the left mirror not holding its position, but okay. The Interieur is of course not new but you get what you pay for. All in all we were happy with our Condo.

We had seen a few reviews prior to our pickup in Christchurch about long wait times for vehicles. This prompted us to get the a bit before opening and were first in line. Whilst we had to wait about an hour for our vehicle- and it was apparent by the quickly growing line behind us and training of new staff as we were served at the front counter that there was some staff shortages- we were pleasantly surprised by the service we received. The team definitely seemed spread thin due to the high pressure of waiting people but they remained calm and kind, always taking the time to check in with people and keep them updated on wait times. We were even offered breakfast on JUCY if we were going to be waiting much longer. Daisy who handed over our van and showed us around was amazing, she was in training but seemed like the had been there years based on her confidence and helpful tips. Checkin aside, we had a brilliant time in our JUCY van and she took us places we weren’t sure she could take us. Only issue with the van was a sink that didn’t drain completely (only drained when driving) and she was rather costly when it came to fuel, drinking it up as she struggled up some of the hills we took her on but that’s the sort of thing you expect when you don’t pay top bucks. Otherwise, she was in top shape and served us very well.

We rented a JUCY RV in QTown and had a problem on the way - right wheel started making a strange whizzing noise. Came to JUCY Christchurch and problem was quickly solved - we were in and out in under one hour! Super attentive staff, talked to the mechanic, he explained what he did. Very happy with the service provided! Nice big station too.

My wife and I rented the Jucy Cabana/Crib campervan for 9 days, we drove around 1,500km with no problem. Pick up experience was a bit slow and we were the second customers coming at 8.00AM, they were a little understaffed that day, so do come early for your pick up and allocate more time than what you think you need. Overall it took me about 1-1.5 hours to complete the pickup process. Do the online checkin to expedite the process. We drop the Crib at Queenstown, drop off experience was super quick. You just need to make sure the car is filled up with fuel, the sheets are all put into the laundry basket they provide and don't forget all your personal stuff. Considering the price, it's a bargain. The car comes with Android Auto feature, so it helps if you want to connect your phone. The Jucy Crib can feel a bit small, and arranging the bed every night and morning can feel like a chore, but we found it gets easier as you get used to it. Smaller car means you also have the freedom to park in a car only area, which is useful in a crowded city like Queenstown.

We had a rough start. There were not enough staff to accommodate those who were returning and renting vans. At one time there were 10 people waiting for service. We were hours late leaving. The staff that were available did a good job. We rented a van with a bed and kitchen. Any problems we had on the road were quickly addressed. Next time we will get a self-contained van which will give us many more options of places to stay. We returned the van after hours with no problem.

We picked up in Christchurch and dropped off in Queenstown. After reading the reviews here the day before pick-up I was basically in tears wondering if we had spent so much money on a crap camper-van with terrible customer service. On pick-up we actually went an hour early but were seen straight away. We got a Crib and the staff member showed us a few basic things and the important stuff to know. The staff are young and mostly non Kiwis so I think Jucy are taking advantage of cheap labour. But they were polite and helpful so I can’t fault that. The van itself was old. Clean enough but there were stains and rips here and there but honestly it was fine for our two week trip and actually kind of cosy! We didn’t use the sink so can’t speak to the functionality of that and we only used the little camping stove once. The fridge did stop working after a while but since we were in Queenstown we were able to quickly pop in and get a replacement no problem. Drop off was also quick and easy with an immediate drop off at the airport. Maybe because we dropped off early around 9am and there seemed to be no one else picking up or dropping off. I am not sure if we just got lucky or if others are more fussy or just got unlucky but I would say overall it was a positive experience. Given the fact this is a ‘budget’ option, you kind of get what you pay for which is not luxury but fine for a little adventure.

I laughed reading the other reviews.....people you are renting a JUCY van, if you want perfection, go spend twice as much with an alternate supplier. Admit it you rented a JUCY based on price and expected more.....fools. We have just finished a 4 week trip around NZ in a JUCY, why? Because it is iconic and not perfect, it's about the adventure and set backs enrich it. The folks at pickup were super busy, did not have a clue what was going on and muddled through the chaos to get us on our way. We headed west agog at the scenery with the music drowing out all the rattles from the car. Day 2 meant a 500km diversion due to a road trying to fall in to the sea, Jucy 1.0 was taking it well. We then hit Mount Cook (not actually hit it, you know near it) Jucy 1.0 then hit the wall, farting and popping and generally acting unwell. We called Jucy, got a tow truck sent, they put us up in a hotel and took us and Jucy 1.0 to queenstown, we were presented with Jucy 2.0, an upgrade.....happy wife, happy life. Jucy 2.0 went well and got us through nearly 3000km over the next 3 weeks, apart from running around at midnight 3 days before the end drying bedding and moving to the lower suite as 2.0 decided to developed a leak in the roof and soak us in the bed. Oh well another part of the adventure. Every issue is an opportunity to create a fix, have a laugh and remember in the future. Don't forget the journey is not about the Van it's about who is in it and what's outside. Perfect vehicle, great trip, will do it again. Thanks Jucy.

The staff at the CHCH Jucy are super friendly and helpful. Our van didn't have rear curtains, which is a downer, however we made do with towels on the back. The crib is easy to drive and Albert was nice enough to drop myself, my girlfriend and others off at the airport after 4pm. Such awesome service and will use them again in the future. :)

When searching for Mt John, the observatory didn't show up on the search. Instead, it led me to Mt John Waimate. It even got the Jucy office location wrong by about 1km when returning the car.

While it was disappointing we had to wait a couple of hours to get the vehicle, the staff at Christchurch did everything they could to prepare the vehicle and get us on the road on Good Friday. The handover felt a bit rushed but we were just happy to start our holiday. The Crib was great to drive and easy to park in the city, and you see other Jucy vans everywhere!

The team are very good, working hard to make sure you get all the information needed before you leave. I had one of the older vehicles, it had some 400,000 KM but was well maintained and drove well. I was missing some bath towels, they offered to refund me the money if I had purchased but It was fine. If that's important to you I would check before leaving. The Crib style car was fine for me (solo) but I would expect could be a squeeze with 2 and some luggage. Flexible team, worked well for me thank you.

Driving with JUCY is like driving with family. Every other jucy riders wave to you when they see you :D The crew was really helpfull. However the Jucy is totally budget option. Small car with little space inside. No heating and hot water is only after long drive (2-3 hours) or if you are plug in on camping. Small gas bottle, however it was enough for 10 days trip for 3 people. For this price it was OK :)

Hired the Jucy condo camper for 2 weeks round trip from Chch. Luckily had no mechanical or electrical issues with the campervan itself. It was clean on pick up with basic kitchen equipment inside (saucepan, kettle, frying pan and utensils, crockery and cutlery - but bring your own matches, dish soap and sponge!). Clean bedding & towels were provided. In the condo there's no shower and the toilet is a portaloo so we opted to stay at campsites or near public toilets. The campervan had seating and beds for 4 people, but it felt like that might be a squeeze. We were 2 adults and had a comfortable stay. Minimal space for luggage (2 cabin sized bags at most). The depot opening hours are very short closing at 4:30pm. So bare this in mind if you are arriving & collecting same day and planning to use the shuttle. We had to change our pick up date to accommodate for any potential flight delays and then collect the van next day (which was annoying as it meant we lost a day of our trip). Although we only had a short 30mins or so wait during pick up & drop off, staff were helpful and friendly but they are visibly short staffed.

Hired a 6 person campervan, the van had a faulty 12v system and we lost 2 days of our trip because of it since we had to bring back to the depot. They swapped the campervan over for us straight away and off we went to continue our holiday. They then refunded us at the end of our trip for our lost time without any fuss or hassle. The manager we dealt with (I forgot her name) and Ben were amazing, they sorted everything out for us and were a breeze to deal with. I’ll 100% be using them again.

Rented a Jucy Crib campervan for solo one month trip in July 2023. For me it was perfect as long as I was staying in good camping areas with toilets, showers and a kitchen. It was comfortable to sleep in and had all the kitchenware and fridge I required. Tried to boil water once with the gas cooker but couldn't make it (will take forever), since I recommend staying near good kitchen facilities. Have to note that for two this car would get quite cozy. Since the car is very compact, it's also very easy to drive and maneuver. As it was winter, I had to buy a hot wattle bottle (10 NZD in The Warehouse) and an extra blanket (5 NZD in 2nd hand store). With those I never felt cold in the nights. It would be nice if Jucy could provide these with an extra cost for winter travellers. The service I received when picking up and dropping off was very straightforward, easy and good. When picking up in winter it would be good to request if customer would like snow chains (had to request them), since you might need them in some roads. When dropping off it is said the car has to be "tidy", but in the end there was no need to wash the car from outside or vacuum clean it from inside. Just take out your stuff and return the key. Generally would recommend this company to everybody whether picking up a smaller or bigger campervan, since it seems to be the most popular and also cheapest option available.

After having troubles with phones after hopping off the plane, we caught a taxi who took us to the wrong location and left. The place we went to called up the jucy office in Christchurch, 5 minutes before closing time. They sent a shuttle down to pick us up and stayed back an extra 20 minutes to ensure we got our car. Everything was extremely organized and clean. The overall experience was great. I booked a jucy cabana at first, but after one day, I realized that I made a big mistake and that this van won't fit two big guys with their luggage (my friend joined me at a late notice :P). I called the Jucy team asking to change it to a bigger van, and they made the change promptly and smoothly (to a jucy Condo)! The next 2 weeks in New Zealand were GREAT thanks to this change! The cheapest car rental by far. While the other car rental places charge us anything between $450-1200 for 4 days, the hatchback from here was less than $300. Yes, it's nothing luxurious, but it was functional and petrol-efficient. I think they were a bit understaffed when we went but they obviously tried their best.

Our second time getting a Jucy camper and we had an absolute blast. The only (minor) issue was the long queue to pick up our camper as it was a very busy Monday, could probably suggest planning ahead to see when vans are being picked up / returned and allocate staff appropriately. AND the USB in the jucy chaser did not work, very poor radio service throughout most of the South Island. BUT 10/10 in every other way. Thank you, we will be back!

For the positives, all staff were friendly, the car worked fine, it was inexpensive, and drop off was quick and easy. For the negatives, we had to wait over 45 minutes in the cold for the shuttle and eventually had to call to get them to come get us We also had a return flight at 6pm and found out that Jucy's last shuttle was at 3:30 which wasn't very convenient and would have been good to know up front. We never buy the insurance as it is covered on our credit card. If you choose Jucy's risk taker option they charge the full bond amount on your credit card instantly and then it gets refunded up to a week later. We have rented cars in many, many different countries and have never had to do this.So it was ok, but we weren't terribly impressed and to be honest probably wouldn't be our first choice next time.

We had a condor for 17days and it was a good little van no issues ,good size van for 3 people ,the fridge worked perfectly and the "house " battery lasts well and is able to keep the lights going and charge phones over night without issues . Will definitely rent one again

The guys were too co operative We had hired jucy cabana from Christchurch airport. There is shuttle service provided to-fro from airport to jucy center. We had to catch a flight as it was rescheduled due to covid-19 impact. We were running late and had to return the car early ..as the car was not cleaned form outside. The staff understood our situation and helped us out by not charging us the cleaning fee. Thanks Jucy for making the whole south Island trip successful.

Make sure to get stress free cover when traveling in NZ because there are alot of gravel roads and our windscreen got chipped. Lucky we had the right cover. We accidentally forgot to bring in the boot cover for the car when we handed it in and the next day the staff handled it perfectly and we just brought it back no harm done.

We hired a vehicle with Juicy, it was a super easy transaction and free shuttle from the airport to the place. It was pretty busy due to a few flights landed. Waited for about 30mins, the staff were great with exsplaining terms and conditions and stuff we can do durung our time there. Our vehicle was clean and great getting us around. Gas was cheap filling it up :) it was reasonably affordable and we would definitely go through juicy again. Would recommend them

Had "juicy chaser" for 8 nights. All in all had a good experience, however vehicles (the one we had) could have been maintained slightly better. Fresh water tank cover needed to be taped down as lock wouldn't work, drivers wing mirror which was already taped in place required additional taping as it started flapping off, one of the gas elements was faulty, and.the biggest issue was the engine would inexplicably turn off on 7 occasions when slowing down to go around corners, a bit hazardous!!! All these were brought to the attention of juicy staff when vehicle dropped off. Did 1900kms and spent $450.00 on petrol.

A car is a car. Do they have some booking problems yes but it’s not on the employees. They were all incredibly friendly and the poor girl had went and cleaned our car for us. Their booking system online only check the car numbers to see if there is availability, it doesn’t however account for the staff and readiness of the cars. We had to wait but there was no issue with the car over the week I rented it. The earlier you book the easier it will be to avoid a wait.

Rented Jucy for two weeks in New Zealand. The only downside is that we got an automatic car when we would have preferred a manual one, but Jucy does warn you that they cannot guarantee that you will get your choice of automatic or manual. While in Oamaru we had a problem that damaged the door hinge, and support was very helpful in setting us up with a local body shop at no charge for us at all, which was very much appreciated. Great agency to rent at, would absolutely rent from them again for a road trip around NZ!

I see a lot of people complaining and giving bad reviews here. These are the people that will complain about anything. Booked chaser. When arrived was told that vehicle was not available. Got upgraded to casa. Was a Motorhome not camper with only 15k on the clock. Was not charged a cent extra. Highly recommend reading the terms of contract. It's brutal. Some accidents Not covered even with the highest insurance. Wheels And windscreen not covered at all. Jucy charge 75 bucks for admin claim fee even if incident/accident not your fault. Must report any incidents within 24hrs otherwise contact is void. Be careful especially if you are staying in areas with no phone reception. Complementary shuttle bus from airport to depot. 3 min ride. You don't have to walk to depot at all.
