Overall pretty good experience. Campervan was spacious and clean. I do wish it was a newer model as it had a ton of miles on it, no cruise control, and sucked gas super fast (way worse than other camper vans we’ve had). The staff were great - Ollie dropped us off at the airport and was very friendly! Our favorite part of having a JUCY campervan was waving at all the other JUCY vehicles along the road trip. Funny enough we didn’t know this was a thing at first but quickly found out as almost everyone waved! Great time in NZ.

Wir hatten einen (etwas älteren) Toyota estima und trotz das es kein Van ist war er super umgebaut und extrem praktisch ausgestattet. Das Unternehmen konnte wir auch schnell und einfach in Notfällen erreichen. Top Service. Der einzige Mangel war, dass das Auto sehr alt war und schon viele Kilometer gelaufen ist und daher etwas schwerer die Hügel hoch kam und einen Spritverbrauch von 9l hatte, was etwas teuer werden kann aber sonst war alles super.

We got generation 1 of condo campervan and you could feel that the vehicle was not new, this was the negative part. A part from that a issue with the stove during the trip so I recommend to test everything at pick up to avoid problems later. For two people it’s comfortable, quality price was ok since it was high season. No mechanical issues, I can mention that the vehicle is quite thirsty.

We had a bit older model, which was good enough for us, but you notice some buttons need replacement etc. We were travelling with 2 adults and 1 4y old girl, which was perfect space wise in the 4p combo. Would not recommend 4 adults. At pick up a bit waiting time, return and shuttle very smooth.

Jucy was amazing value. Our assigned ‘condo’ campervan was 20 years old, didn’t have any bells or whistles, but had lots of personality and quirks. We will be talking and laughing about our Jucy experience for decades to come. It was memorable and fun to be part of the community. But I would NEVER rent one again as the van barely made it up the mountain passes. I was truly terrified on several occasions that the van wasn’t able to handle the constant inclines of the roads across the South Island. Plan you trip carefully if you rent here and think twice about crossing Arthur’s Pass.

Amazing experience, we rented the 3 berth camper self contained unit for our family of 3. It was compact but had everything we needed to keep our adventure going. The gen 1 vehicles are older-aka not in 'new' condition, but everything worked great for us. The shower is so small we didn't end up using it but could have if needed. Thankfully the camp sites we stayed at all had showers and kitchens if needed. The size made it easy to drive all of the small windy roads we traveled on even if at a very slow pace up steep hills. It got us around the entire south island easily. I would highly recommend, we're already hoping to do it again!

We hired a JUCY campervan for our New Zealand trip and absolutely loved the experience! We picked it up in Christchurch airport and dropped it off in Queenstown. The van was spacious and perfect for two people — we especially loved having the top bed and fridge, which made camping so easy and stress-free. Pick-up took a little longer than expected as the van was still being cleaned, but the staff were super accommodating and made sure to get it ready quickly so we could stick to our plans. Christchurch Jucy were extremely accommodating to myself whilst visiting my son in Christchurch. I was collected from the airport, no waiting around and taken directly to their depot. Our driver greeted us with a huge smile.Our bags were stowed away. Our driver was amazing. Super nice guy. Staff at the office were on point. The car was perfect for our needs. A little Suzuki Swift. Good shuttle service to the airport. The campervan was in good conditions and it worked fine during our trip. On the other hand I find disapointing that you can’t contact them by WhatsApp in 2025. For shuttle or any problem during the trip you only can make a telephone call or email them. In my case I couldn’t make phone calls with my e-sim plan and it would be great they had a online chat like WhatsApp to contact them.

Picked up jucy in Queenstown and returned in Christchurch after a road trip. The crews were excellent and dropoff/pickup both went smoothly. The crew at Christchurch were there early and drove me to the airport even though the shuttle wasn't running yet. This was a lifesaver as we had a flight that was earlier than I had planned, and we needed to get there. Van was in good shape and everything ran beautifully.

They were easy to communicate with the cruiser I took was amazing. The trip Itself was a memory to be had....seriously All campers I've had or that I have rented. Were nowhere near as clean efficient and spacious as the van we took. I probably wouldn't even try rent off anyone else again❤️❤️

If you prefer a more compact vehicle than the typical motorhome but still with toilet and shower to be able to free camp then this is a great option. Parking is one of the big advantages to the Chaser as you can pull up anywhere. Being able to have an upper and lower bed was something we took advantage of from time to time and was easy to set up. Jucy staff were super helpful at the airport for pickup and return. Our vehicle didn’t miss a beat on the trip. Had a great time!

We picked up our Chaser van at this location, returned in Aukland, and went on to rent another Jucy vehicle out of Brisbane. The Christchurch location was by far the best!! The best service with friendly, helpful, staff and clear directions which made the process very easy. We felt well taken care of and they were very helpful when our key broke several days into the rental and got us a locksmith that repaired it and they covered the costs since it was due to normal wear and tear. I would highly recommend the Christchurch branch!

The only honest review you need to read today about Jucy Crib rental in Christchurch. Service was relatively fast upon check-in/check-out—not the best, but hey, you can't expect perfection. You get what you pay for, these aren’t the newest campervans, and not everything will be ideal. These cars are constantly in use, but the value for money is definitely worth it. Pickup and drop-off from the airport were smooth, and everyone was nice and polite. The car didn’t give us any trouble, despite having many kilometers on it. We loved all 15 days of our South Island trip, covering 3,600 km, and would book with Jucy again in a heartbeat. Don’t pay attention to bad reviews from people complaining about small things—those are the kind of people who complain about everything. Jucy was definitely a great choice for us!

We hired a large camper van for two weeks from Jucy at Christchurch airport. The pickup was a little lengthy (2hrs) as there were minor issues with the van which were sorted out. Mary at reception was a superstar she was friendly and helpful, hence the forth star, The van was on the older side but lasted our trip with no mechanical issues, driving was easy and comfortable. Besides the contents of the T&Cs I feel the customer should be informed verbally about diesel fuel tax and that the vehicle will be replaced with another if there are aircon problems, roof water leaks etc. The person who conducted the pre-delivery hand over was not experienced and could not answer pertinent questions about the operation of the van. If I was not technically minded and vehicle savvy I would have struggled with a few things. Overall I was satisfied with my experience with this company and the customer service I received after returning the van.

We had our Jucy for 12 days and picked it up in Christchurch and dropped it off in Queenstown. There are soooo many campervan options in New Zealand and my partner and I spent a long time deciding which company to rent from. The price and various drop off points tipped the scales for choosing Jucy. We rented the crib, the smallest option, for its size since we would be doing a lot of driving and wanted to save on fuel and didn’t want a giant vehicle we were nervous to drive. Overall, we were very happy with our experience. Like other reviews the pickup did take a while (2 hours) so pack your patience but otherwise the van was completely functional and was equipped with Bluetooth which was a nice touch. Our van had roughly 350,000 km on it but despite that it ran relatively smoothly. Also it was fun to spot other Jucy drivers and wave to them along the way! Below are some pros and cons Pros: 1. Plenty of sleeping space 2. Fridge/cooler battery lasted longer than expected and was perfect for us 3. Linens are cotton and were warm 4. The back windows can be rolled down from inside u 5. The bed was comfier than expected and my partner (6 foot) also said he was comfier than expected 6. Good back storage for food and such 7. Cost (roughly $1000 USD for 12 days) 8. Van was cleaned well when we picked it up 9. Multiple drop off locations 10. Camaraderie among other Jucy users Cons: 1. they charge extra for camp chair and table, both of which were broken and I think they should come with the van if they are busted. 2. All the dishes are ceramic which is a little nerve wracking for packing everything in 3. Minimal storage. You have to move almost all your stuff into the front at night to make the bed 4. Horrible pillows 5. Long pickup time 6. Some notches on the curtains were broken 7. Near the end of our stint other things started to break, like the pantry door and the key fob would not lock the van at times.

We read a lot of the reviews before picking up our Jucy Condo and have been a little bit scared 😅 but actually everything worked out fine, we did not wait a long time at pickup, maybe an hour, and could return the car even faster. We’ve driven all around the South Island and did not have a single problem besides the left mirror not holding its position, but okay. The Interieur is of course not new but you get what you pay for. All in all we were happy with our Condo.

Whilst we had to wait about an hour for our vehicle- and it was apparent by the quickly growing line behind us and training of new staff as we were served at the front counter that there was some staff shortages- we were pleasantly surprised by the service we received. The team definitely seemed spread thin due to the high pressure of waiting people but they remained calm and kind, always taking the time to check in with people and keep them updated on wait times. We were even offered breakfast on JUCY if we were going to be waiting much longer. Daisy who handed over our van and showed us around was amazing, she was in training but seemed like the had been there years based on her confidence and helpful tips. Checkin aside, we had a brilliant time in our JUCY van and she took us places we weren’t sure she could take us. Only issue with the van was a sink that didn’t drain completely (only drained when driving) and she was rather costly when it came to fuel, drinking it up as she struggled up some of the hills we took her on but that’s the sort of thing you expect when you don’t pay top bucks. Otherwise, she was in top shape and served us very well.

We were impressed with the service when we picked up our camper-van, especially since prior reviews had been rather harsh about staffing problems. In contrast, the Jucy reps were fully on- top of their game & got us on the road in maybe 20 minutes. We should have asked more questions about the toilet operation, and the staff forgot to give us the toilet chemicals. The van was a bit worn mechanically, with slightly loose steering and bouncy shocks - it took strict attention to drive safely on some of the narrow twisty roads. But overall it performed pretty well. We had a minor leak during rainy weather, at the right side of the upper bunk. We found the lower bed much more comfortable than the upper bunk. Upon returning the van, once again the staff service was professional and quick. Overall, we’re well satisfied with Jucy.

Came to JUCY Christchurch and problem was quickly solved - we were in and out in under one hour! Super attentive staff, talked to the mechanic, he explained what he did. My wife and I rented the Jucy Cabana/Crib campervan for 9 days, we drove around 1,500km with no problem. Pick up experience was a bit slow and we were the second customers coming at 8.00AM, they were a little understaffed that day, so do come early for your pick up and allocate more time than what you think you need. Overall it took me about 1-1.5 hours to complete the pickup process. Do the online checkin to expedite the process. We drop the Crib at Queenstown, drop off experience was super quick. You just need to make sure the car is filled up with fuel, the sheets are all put into the laundry basket they provide and don't forget all your personal stuff. Considering the price, it's a bargain. The car comes with Android Auto feature, so it helps if you want to connect your phone. The Jucy Crib can feel a bit small, and arranging the bed every night and morning can feel like a chore, but we found it gets easier as you get used to it. Smaller car means you also have the freedom to park in a car only area, which is useful in a crowded city like Queenstown.

We had a rough start. There were not enough staff to accommodate those who were returning and renting vans. At one time there were 10 people waiting for service. We were hours late leaving. The staff that were available did a good job. We rented a van with a bed and kitchen. Any problems we had on the road were quickly addressed. Next time we will get a self-contained van which will give us many more options of places to stay. We returned the van after hours with no problem.

We picked up in Christchurch and dropped off in Queenstown. After reading the reviews here the day before pick-up I was basically in tears wondering if we had spent so much money on a crap camper-van with terrible customer service. On pick-up we actually went an hour early but were seen straight away. We got a Crib and the staff member showed us a few basic things and the important stuff to know. The staff are young and mostly non Kiwis so I think Jucy are taking advantage of cheap labour. But they were polite and helpful so I can’t fault that. The van itself was old. Clean enough but there were stains and rips here and there but honestly it was fine for our two week trip and actually kind of cosy! We didn’t use the sink so can’t speak to the functionality of that and we only used the little camping stove once. The fridge did stop working after a while but since we were in Queenstown we were able to quickly pop in and get a replacement no problem. Drop off was also quick and easy with an immediate drop off at the airport. Maybe because we dropped off early around 9am and there seemed to be no one else picking up or dropping off. I am not sure if we just got lucky or if others are more fussy or just got unlucky but I would say overall it was a positive experience. Given the fact this is a ‘budget’ option, you kind of get what you pay for which is not luxury but fine for a little adventure.

I laughed reading the other reviews.....people you are renting a JUCY van, if you want perfection, go spend twice as much with an alternate supplier. Admit it you rented a JUCY based on price and expected more.....fools. We have just finished a 4 week trip around NZ in a JUCY, why? Because it is iconic and not perfect, it's about the adventure and set backs enrich it. The folks at pickup were super busy, did not have a clue what was going on and muddled through the chaos to get us on our way. We headed west agog at the scenery with the music drowing out all the rattles from the car. Day 2 meant a 500km diversion due to a road trying to fall in to the sea, Jucy 1.0 was taking it well. We then hit Mount Cook (not actually hit it, you know near it) Jucy 1.0 then hit the wall, farting and popping and generally acting unwell. We called Jucy, got a tow truck sent, they put us up in a hotel and took us and Jucy 1.0 to queenstown, we were presented with Jucy 2.0, an upgrade.....happy wife, happy life. Jucy 2.0 went well and got us through nearly 3000km over the next 3 weeks, apart from running around at midnight 3 days before the end drying bedding and moving to the lower suite as 2.0 decided to developed a leak in the roof and soak us in the bed. Oh well another part of the adventure. Every issue is an opportunity to create a fix, have a laugh and remember in the future. Don't forget the journey is not about the Van it's about who is in it and what's outside. Perfect vehicle, great trip, will do it again. Thanks Jucy.

The staff at the CHCH Jucy are super friendly and helpful. Our van didn't have rear curtains, which is a downer, however we made do with towels on the back. The crib is easy to drive and Albert was nice enough to drop myself, my girlfriend and others off at the airport after 4pm. Such awesome service and will use them again in the future. :)

When searching for Mt John, the observatory didn't show up on the search. Instead, it led me to Mt John Waimate. It even got the Jucy office location wrong by about 1km when returning the car.

While it was disappointing we had to wait a couple of hours to get the vehicle, the staff at Christchurch did everything they could to prepare the vehicle and get us on the road on Good Friday. The handover felt a bit rushed but we were just happy to start our holiday. The Crib was great to drive and easy to park in the city, and you see other Jucy vans everywhere!

The team are very good, working hard to make sure you get all the information needed before you leave. I had one of the older vehicles, it had some 400,000 KM but was well maintained and drove well. I was missing some bath towels, they offered to refund me the money if I had purchased but It was fine. If that's important to you I would check before leaving. The Crib style car was fine for me (solo) but I would expect could be a squeeze with 2 and some luggage. Flexible team, worked well for me thank you.

Driving with JUCY is like driving with family. Every other jucy riders wave to you when they see you :D The crew was really helpfull. However the Jucy is totally budget option. Small car with little space inside. No heating and hot water is only after long drive (2-3 hours) or if you are plug in on camping. Small gas bottle, however it was enough for 10 days trip for 3 people. For this price it was OK :)

Hired the Jucy condo camper for 2 weeks round trip from Chch. Luckily had no mechanical or electrical issues with the campervan itself. It was clean on pick up with basic kitchen equipment inside (saucepan, kettle, frying pan and utensils, crockery and cutlery - but bring your own matches, dish soap and sponge!). Clean bedding & towels were provided. In the condo there's no shower and the toilet is a portaloo so we opted to stay at campsites or near public toilets. The campervan had seating and beds for 4 people, but it felt like that might be a squeeze. We were 2 adults and had a comfortable stay. Minimal space for luggage (2 cabin sized bags at most). The depot opening hours are very short closing at 4:30pm. So bare this in mind if you are arriving & collecting same day and planning to use the shuttle. We had to change our pick up date to accommodate for any potential flight delays and then collect the van next day (which was annoying as it meant we lost a day of our trip). Although we only had a short 30mins or so wait during pick up & drop off, staff were helpful and friendly but they are visibly short staffed.

Hired a 6 person campervan, the van had a faulty 12v system and we lost 2 days of our trip because of it since we had to bring back to the depot. They swapped the campervan over for us straight away and off we went to continue our holiday. They then refunded us at the end of our trip for our lost time without any fuss or hassle. The manager we dealt with (I forgot her name) and Ben were amazing, they sorted everything out for us and were a breeze to deal with. I’ll 100% be using them again.

Rented a Jucy Crib campervan for solo one month trip in July 2023. For me it was perfect as long as I was staying in good camping areas with toilets, showers and a kitchen. It was comfortable to sleep in and had all the kitchenware and fridge I required. Tried to boil water once with the gas cooker but couldn't make it (will take forever), since I recommend staying near good kitchen facilities. Have to note that for two this car would get quite cozy. Since the car is very compact, it's also very easy to drive and maneuver. As it was winter, I had to buy a hot wattle bottle (10 NZD in The Warehouse) and an extra blanket (5 NZD in 2nd hand store). With those I never felt cold in the nights. It would be nice if Jucy could provide these with an extra cost for winter travellers. The service I received when picking up and dropping off was very straightforward, easy and good. When picking up in winter it would be good to request if customer would like snow chains (had to request them), since you might need them in some roads. When dropping off it is said the car has to be "tidy", but in the end there was no need to wash the car from outside or vacuum clean it from inside. Just take out your stuff and return the key. Generally would recommend this company to everybody whether picking up a smaller or bigger campervan, since it seems to be the most popular and also cheapest option available.

The place we went to called up the jucy office in Christchurch, 5 minutes before closing time. They sent a shuttle down to pick us up and stayed back an extra 20 minutes to ensure we got our car. Everything was extremely organized and clean. The overall experience was great. I booked a jucy cabana at first, but after one day, I realized that I made a big mistake and that this van won't fit two big guys with their luggage (my friend joined me at a late notice :P). I called the Jucy team asking to change it to a bigger van, and they made the change promptly and smoothly (to a jucy Condo)! The next 2 weeks in New Zealand were GREAT thanks to this change! The cheapest car rental by far. While the other car rental places charge us anything between $450-1200 for 4 days, the hatchback from here was less than $300. Yes, it's nothing luxurious, but it was functional and petrol-efficient. I think they were a bit understaffed when we went but they obviously tried their best.

Our second time getting a Jucy camper and we had an absolute blast. The only (minor) issue was the long queue to pick up our camper as it was a very busy Monday, could probably suggest planning ahead to see when vans are being picked up / returned and allocate staff appropriately. AND the USB in the jucy chaser did not work, very poor radio service throughout most of the South Island. BUT 10/10 in every other way. Thank you, we will be back!

Campervan was a bit old and broken but on the whole, great experience with JUCY. Shuttle guy was super nice to take me to the terminal an hour early before he actually starts. For the positives, all staff were friendly, the car worked fine, it was inexpensive, and drop off was quick and easy. For the negatives, we had to wait over 45 minutes in the cold for the shuttle and eventually had to call to get them to come get us We also had a return flight at 6pm and found out that Jucy's last shuttle was at 3:30 which wasn't very convenient and would have been good to know up front. We never buy the insurance as it is covered on our credit card. If you choose Jucy's risk taker option they charge the full bond amount on your credit card instantly and then it gets refunded up to a week later. We have rented cars in many, many different countries and have never had to do this.So it was ok, but we weren't terribly impressed and to be honest probably wouldn't be our first choice next time.

The guys were too co operative We had hired jucy cabana from Christchurch airport. There is shuttle service provided to-fro from airport to jucy center. We had to catch a flight as it was rescheduled due to covid-19 impact. We were running late and had to return the car early ..as the car was not cleaned form outside. The staff understood our situation and helped us out by not charging us the cleaning fee. Thanks Jucy for making the whole south Island trip successful.

Make sure to get stress free cover when traveling in NZ because there are alot of gravel roads and our windscreen got chipped. Lucky we had the right cover. We accidentally forgot to bring in the boot cover for the car when we handed it in and the next day the staff handled it perfectly and we just brought it back no harm done.

We hired a vehicle with Juicy, it was a super easy transaction and free shuttle from the airport to the place. It was pretty busy due to a few flights landed. Waited for about 30mins, the staff were great with exsplaining terms and conditions and stuff we can do durung our time there. Our vehicle was clean and great getting us around. Gas was cheap filling it up :) it was reasonably affordable and we would definitely go through juicy again. Would recommend them

Had "juicy chaser" for 8 nights. All in all had a good experience, however vehicles (the one we had) could have been maintained slightly better. Fresh water tank cover needed to be taped down as lock wouldn't work, drivers wing mirror which was already taped in place required additional taping as it started flapping off, one of the gas elements was faulty, and.the biggest issue was the engine would inexplicably turn off on 7 occasions when slowing down to go around corners, a bit hazardous!!! All these were brought to the attention of juicy staff when vehicle dropped off. Did 1900kms and spent $450.00 on petrol.

A car is a car. Do they have some booking problems yes but it’s not on the employees. They were all incredibly friendly and the poor girl had went and cleaned our car for us. Their booking system online only check the car numbers to see if there is availability, it doesn’t however account for the staff and readiness of the cars. We had to wait but there was no issue with the car over the week I rented it. The earlier you book the easier it will be to avoid a wait.

Rented Jucy for two weeks in New Zealand. The only downside is that we got an automatic car when we would have preferred a manual one, but Jucy does warn you that they cannot guarantee that you will get your choice of automatic or manual. While in Oamaru we had a problem that damaged the door hinge, and support was very helpful in setting us up with a local body shop at no charge for us at all, which was very much appreciated. Great agency to rent at, would absolutely rent from them again for a road trip around NZ!

I see a lot of people complaining and giving bad reviews here. These are the people that will complain about anything. Booked chaser. When arrived was told that vehicle was not available. Got upgraded to casa. Was a Motorhome not camper with only 15k on the clock. Was not charged a cent extra. Highly recommend reading the terms of contract. It's brutal. Some accidents Not covered even with the highest insurance. Wheels And windscreen not covered at all. Jucy charge 75 bucks for admin claim fee even if incident/accident not your fault. Must report any incidents within 24hrs otherwise contact is void. Be careful especially if you are staying in areas with no phone reception. Complementary shuttle bus from airport to depot. 3 min ride. You don't have to walk to depot at all.
