Christchurch Jucy were extremely accommodating to myself whilst visiting my son in Christchurch. I was collected from the airport, no waiting around and taken directly to their depot. Our driver greeted us with a huge smile. Our bags were stowed away. Our driver was amazing. Super nice guy. Staff at the office were on point. The car was perfect for our needs. A little Suzuki Swift. She was a gem. When we returned our little gem, the staff were extremely friendly and prepared for our return and expected drop off at Christchurch domestic Airport. I look forward to my next trip to Christchurch in December, one of my holiday tasks has been taken care of. Car rental. Im happy to continue hiring rental vehicles from Jucy, Christchurch. Good shuttle service to the airport. The campervan was in good conditions and it worked fine during our trip. On the other hand I find disapointing that you can’t contact them by WhatsApp in 2025. For shuttle or any problem during the trip you only can make a telephone call or email them. In my case I couldn’t make phone calls with my e-sim plan and it would be great they had a online chat like WhatsApp to contact them.
Picked up jucy in Queenstown and returned in Christchurch after a road trip. The crews were excellent and dropoff/pickup both went smoothly. The crew at Christchurch were there early and drove me to the airport even though the shuttle wasn't running yet. This was a lifesaver as we had a flight that was earlier than I had planned, and we needed to get there. Van was in good shape and everything ran beautifully.
Our little jucy crib was clean and and ready to go. All of the things that we needed was included - really happy and enjoyed the hire

I don't actually know how to put this.... if you love chasing sunsets and sunrises 🔥🔥🔥I've left a few reviews before but this one would probably represent the best experience I've had dealing with any company. They were easy to communicate with the cruiser I took was amazing. The trip Itself was a memory to be had....seriously All campers I've had or that I have rented. Were nowhere near as clean efficient and spacious as the van we took. I probably wouldn't even try rent off anyone else again❤️❤️
If you prefer a more compact vehicle than the typical motorhome but still with toilet and shower to be able to free camp then this is a great option. Parking is one of the big advantages to the Chaser as you can pull up anywhere. Being able to have an upper and lower bed was something we took advantage of from time to time and was easy to set up. Jucy staff were super helpful at the airport for pickup and return. Our vehicle didn’t miss a beat on the trip. Had a great time!

The staff team in Christchurch is exceptional. Thank you to all of them for making our adventure easy, stress free and most of all amazing. Our vehicle was very clean, functional, very well equipped. Drop off was even more easy.
We had an excellent experience with JUCY. The entire process, from check-in to checkout, was seamless. The customer support team was incredibly helpful over the phone when we needed to extend our booking by a day, and they kindly accommodated our request for a late checkout as well. Truly a hassle-free and pleasant experience- Highly Recommended !!
We picked up our Chaser van at this location, returned in Aukland, and went on to rent another Jucy vehicle out of Brisbane. The Christchurch location was by far the best!! The best service with friendly, helpful, staff and clear directions which made the process very easy. We felt well taken care of and they were very helpful when our key broke several days into the rental and got us a locksmith that repaired it and they covered the costs since it was due to normal wear and tear. I would highly recommend the Christchurch branch!

I recently went on a bit of a ten day roadtrip adventure around New Zealand and Jucy was the company that I went through for my campervan. The vehicle was exactly what I needed to both get around, and setup overnight in (as NZ has some great freedom camping sites). I picked up my vehicle in Christchurch, but during my trip, when I went to Queenstown and was heading down towards The Anau I got involved in a serious crash (my first such incident, and it was pretty scary..). I hit a patch of 'black ice' and lost control of the vehicle, and the campervan ended up on its side in a ditch and into a farmers paddock. Black ice really is no joke; and is incredibly difficult to see; after my encounter, I strongly advise being mindful of it as best we can, especially during the colder months of the year. Thankfully I managed to get out of the situation pretty unscathed other than a bump on my elbow and the fact I bit my tongue; so I am immensely thankful for that. The locals, the fire department, the police, ambulance service and the farmers were honestly incredible, friendly and so helpful which made such a difference in this kind of situation. Thankfully I got out the full insurance package (the stress Free plus), which I leaned into thinking it's better safe than sorry, and I'm really thankful I did- and now I kind of strongly recommend it, as you never know when something might happen. I want to give major thankfulness to the Jucy crew, who were incredibly supportive during this time. At the scene on the phone they were amazing to talk with, and definitely put people first, and emphasized that they were just thankful I was okay, and when I got back to Queenstown, the team there were amazing. They offered me another vehicle, which I collected the next day (as I wanted to give myself a little break from driving before deciding to head out of the mountains back towards the coast). They even called to check in with how I'm going; again, an incredibly supportive team. When I got back to Christchurch to drop off my vehicle, the team there were equally supportive. All of this made such a world of difference at this time. So, I really have to say I highly recommend them; from both the comfort and affordability of the campervans, and for the amazing services I experienced behind the scenes. Overall, despite this incident with black ice, New Zealand provided so many incredible moments and experiences. It's an amazing place, and the campervan definitely allowed me to thoroughly explore so much of it.
Drop off was a breeze. Tony helped us a lot and offered to drop us off airport. She's really cool!

Perfect but there are minor faults
My boyfriend and I rented a Jucy Chaser (which came with an inbuilt shower and toliet) for 2 weeks in NZ. Overall, our experience was amazing given the price we paid- vehicle drove well, came clean and the shower was even warm! However, after about a week we did experience some faults with the vehicle, such as our sink starting to leak, the wheel alignment being out, and the door for the gas canister not shutting properly (which was dangerous when driving). This gave us the impression that any faults with the vehicles are simply patched-up in-between hires and are not properly attended to or fixed. However, despite many reviews calling out poor customer service, we didn’t find this at all, and when we requested a contactless drop off last minute the staff were extremely helpful and considerate. I would still 100% recommend JUCY for the budget traveller- just maybe don’t expect a perfect vehicle :)
Ich hatte 24 Tage einen Jucy Crib. Ist natürlich kleiner als ein großer Campervan und nicht Self Contained. Die Platzaufteilung ist gut durchdacht. Der Umbau vom Fahr- zum Schlafbetrieb und umgekehrt geht nach ein wenig Übung schnell. Der Stauraum ist überschaubar. Bei 2 Personen ist das sicher eine Herausforderung. Ich bin von Christchurch erst ganz in den Süden. Dann über die Westküste hoch. Mit der Fähre auf die Nordinsel und dann bis Auckland. Zwischendurch immer mal einen der Great Walks gelaufen. Da ich viel gefahren bin, war ich froh, ein Fahrzeug zu haben, das wie ein Pkw fährt. Das Auto war nicht das Jüngste und hatte bereits 345.000 km auf dem Tacho. Technisch war das nicht zu bemerken. Es hat alles funktioniert. Dem Innenraum war der intensive Gebrauch deutlich anzusehen. Es war aber sauber. Die Abholung in Christchurch hat ca. 3 Stunden in Anspruch genommen. Es waren tolle 3 Wochen. Gerne wieder. Zu zweit würde ich eher einen größeren Camper nehmen.
Hired the budget camper. Second time I've done so, don't expect luxury and the vans are well used. But for what it is it's decent and made all up and down the west coast
We had our Jucy for 12 days and picked it up in Christchurch and dropped it off in Queenstown. There are soooo many campervan options in New Zealand and my partner and I spent a long time deciding which company to rent from. The price and various drop off points tipped the scales for choosing Jucy. We rented the crib, the smallest option, for its size since we would be doing a lot of driving and wanted to save on fuel and didn’t want a giant vehicle we were nervous to drive. Overall, we were very happy with our experience. Like other reviews the pickup did take a while (2 hours) so pack your patience but otherwise the van was completely functional and was equipped with Bluetooth which was a nice touch. Our van had roughly 350,000 km on it but despite that it ran relatively smoothly. Also it was fun to spot other Jucy drivers and wave to them along the way! Below are some pros and cons Pros:
1. Plenty of sleeping space
2. Fridge/cooler battery lasted longer than expected and was perfect for us
3. Linens are cotton and were warm
4. The back windows can be rolled down from inside u
5. The bed was comfier than expected and my partner (6 foot) also said he was comfier than expected
6. Good back storage for food and such
7. Cost (roughly $1000 USD for 12 days)
8. Van was cleaned well when we picked it up
9. Multiple drop off locations
10. Camaraderie among other Jucy users Cons:
1. they charge extra for camp chair and table, both of which were broken and I think they should come with the van if they are busted. 2. All the dishes are ceramic which is a little nerve wracking for packing everything in
3. Minimal storage. You have to move almost all your stuff into the front at night to make the bed
4. Horrible pillows
5. Long pickup time
6. Some notches on the curtains were broken
7. Near the end of our stint other things started to break, like the pantry door and the key fob would not lock the van at times.
We read a lot of the reviews before picking up our Jucy Condo and have been a little bit scared 😅 but actually everything worked out fine, we did not wait a long time at pickup, maybe an hour, and could return the car even faster. We’ve driven all around the South Island and did not have a single problem besides the left mirror not holding its position, but okay. The Interieur is of course not new but you get what you pay for. All in all we were happy with our Condo.
We had seen a few reviews prior to our pickup in Christchurch about long wait times for vehicles. This prompted us to get the a bit before opening and were first in line. Whilst we had to wait about an hour for our vehicle- and it was apparent by the quickly growing line behind us and training of new staff as we were served at the front counter that there was some staff shortages- we were pleasantly surprised by the service we received. The team definitely seemed spread thin due to the high pressure of waiting people but they remained calm and kind, always taking the time to check in with people and keep them updated on wait times. We were even offered breakfast on JUCY if we were going to be waiting much longer. Daisy who handed over our van and showed us around was amazing, she was in training but seemed like the had been there years based on her confidence and helpful tips. Checkin aside, we had a brilliant time in our JUCY van and she took us places we weren’t sure she could take us. Only issue with the van was a sink that didn’t drain completely (only drained when driving) and she was rather costly when it came to fuel, drinking it up as she struggled up some of the hills we took her on but that’s the sort of thing you expect when you don’t pay top bucks. Otherwise, she was in top shape and served us very well.
Wij hebben ver van te voren een Jucy Chaser geboekt. Helaas bleek bij aankomst dat onze bus nog niet was gearriveerd. De vorige verhuurders, van wie wij de bus zouden overnemen hadden eigenlijk de dag er voor moeten aankomen, maar is niet gebeurt. Vanuit de medewerkers kregen we de oprechte excuses, een leenauto voor die dag, onkostenvergoeding van alle uitgaven die dag, en zelfs één rental dag terugbetaald. Die middag kreten we een telefoontje dat onze bus gereed was om op te halen. Erg keurige afhandeling van zaken die wat buiten hun macht ligt. De bus zelf bevalt goed. Hij heeft aardig wat kilometers gelopen (356.000) maar rijdt fantastisch. Van binnen is de inrichting wel wat gedateerd, maar nog steeds prima om mee te reizen. Wij schrokken eerst heel erg van de 1 ster reviews die recentelijk zijn geplaatst, maar voor mensen die klagen over de kwaliteit van de bussen verwachten top of the line, terwijl ze een budget maatschappij boeken... Al met al erg tevreden over de bus zelf en de klantenservice. Aangeraden!

We rented a JUCY RV in QTown and had a problem on the way - right wheel started making a strange whizzing noise. Came to JUCY Christchurch and problem was quickly solved - we were in and out in under one hour! Super attentive staff, talked to the mechanic, he explained what he did. Very happy with the service provided! Nice big station too.
We were very satisfied with our rental van - we had a Polaris 2 and it was just class. Suited our needs down to a tee. The only gripe would be, there is no Gas BBQ - other than that, couldn't have been happier and we had the van for just short of 4 weeks, of continuous living - a great way to tour NZ

My wife and I rented the Jucy Cabana/Crib campervan for 9 days, we drove around 1,500km with no problem. Pick up experience was a bit slow and we were the second customers coming at 8.00AM, they were a little understaffed that day, so do come early for your pick up and allocate more time than what you think you need. Overall it took me about 1-1.5 hours to complete the pickup process. Do the online checkin to expedite the process. We drop the Crib at Queenstown, drop off experience was super quick. You just need to make sure the car is filled up with fuel, the sheets are all put into the laundry basket they provide and don't forget all your personal stuff. Considering the price, it's a bargain. The car comes with Android Auto feature, so it helps if you want to connect your phone. The Jucy Crib can feel a bit small, and arranging the bed every night and morning can feel like a chore, but we found it gets easier as you get used to it. Smaller car means you also have the freedom to park in a car only area, which is useful in a crowded city like Queenstown.
We had a rough start. There were not enough staff to accommodate those who were returning and renting vans. At one time there were 10 people waiting for service. We were hours late leaving. The staff that were available did a good job. We rented a van with a bed and kitchen. Any problems we had on the road were quickly addressed. Next time we will get a self-contained van which will give us many more options of places to stay. We returned the van after hours with no problem.
Had a really great adventure in my Jucy camper. Basic but perfect ! Well thought out kitchen utensils and everybody in a Jucy camper waves at each other and chats. Feels like a little club... Great memories.
We picked up in Christchurch and dropped off in Queenstown. After reading the reviews here the day before pick-up I was basically in tears wondering if we had spent so much money on a crap camper-van with terrible customer service. On pick-up we actually went an hour early but were seen straight away. We got a Crib and the staff member showed us a few basic things and the important stuff to know. The staff are young and mostly non Kiwis so I think Jucy are taking advantage of cheap labour. But they were polite and helpful so I can’t fault that. The van itself was old. Clean enough but there were stains and rips here and there but honestly it was fine for our two week trip and actually kind of cosy! We didn’t use the sink so can’t speak to the functionality of that and we only used the little camping stove once. The fridge did stop working after a while but since we were in Queenstown we were able to quickly pop in and get a replacement no problem. Drop off was also quick and easy with an immediate drop off at the airport. Maybe because we dropped off early around 9am and there seemed to be no one else picking up or dropping off. I am not sure if we just got lucky or if others are more fussy or just got unlucky but I would say overall it was a positive experience. Given the fact this is a ‘budget’ option, you kind of get what you pay for which is not luxury but fine for a little adventure.
They seemed understaffed at both pick-up and drop-off, nothing but respect for the staff in staying friendly and patient. Campervan we hired (a cruiser) was far from cheap but worth it: almost new, drove like a charm and all in all a great way to get around a beautiful country.

I laughed reading the other reviews.....people you are renting a JUCY van, if you want perfection, go spend twice as much with an alternate supplier. Admit it you rented a JUCY based on price and expected more.....fools. We have just finished a 4 week trip around NZ in a JUCY, why? Because it is iconic and not perfect, it's about the adventure and set backs enrich it. The folks at pickup were super busy, did not have a clue what was going on and muddled through the chaos to get us on our way. We headed west agog at the scenery with the music drowing out all the rattles from the car. Day 2 meant a 500km diversion due to a road trying to fall in to the sea, Jucy 1.0 was taking it well. We then hit Mount Cook (not actually hit it, you know near it) Jucy 1.0 then hit the wall, farting and popping and generally acting unwell. We called Jucy, got a tow truck sent, they put us up in a hotel and took us and Jucy 1.0 to queenstown, we were presented with Jucy 2.0, an upgrade.....happy wife, happy life. Jucy 2.0 went well and got us through nearly 3000km over the next 3 weeks, apart from running around at midnight 3 days before the end drying bedding and moving to the lower suite as 2.0 decided to developed a leak in the roof and soak us in the bed. Oh well another part of the adventure. Every issue is an opportunity to create a fix, have a laugh and remember in the future. Don't forget the journey is not about the Van it's about who is in it and what's outside. Perfect vehicle, great trip, will do it again. Thanks Jucy.

Along a nearby stretch of road, we popped into a few different rental companies to get an idea for prices and such. No quote came close to Jucy's since we wanted to drop off the car in Queenstown. We wanted full insurance too.
Our economy car was a Fiat Punto. You won't be winning any drag races with this thing but considering the distance we drove and fuel economy, we were pretty satisfied.
Sometimes, it's tough to go with the place with a bunch of negative reviews. In this case, we're glad we did!
