Great van, really easy and comfortable to drive. Loved the cozy lighting in the evening! This is my second van with JUCY and I would definitely recommend it. Registration process is smooth and when you drop off the van, they don’t rush you to leave, you can chill there for a bit until you figure out where to go

I had a really good experience overall. The customer service was friendly and helpful, and the pickup process was quick and easy. The car was clean and well presented when I picked it up, which made the whole experience even better. Everything was straightforward and efficient, and I would definitely use the service again.

Incredible staff
Once we received the campervan, the staff was incredibly helpful in helping to plan our roadtrip, offering honest and valuable opinions regarding different destinations. He also was thorough in his instruction and explanation of how the campervan works. While I don’t exactly remember how to spell his name, the gentleman in Auckland whose name started with a K was so kind and we are grateful to him for helping make our trip to New Zealand as wonderful as it was!

The product itself, awesome. Great fit for families and whoever is in vision to travel around. As for admin, it’s very poor! The day we settled and paid for our camper van, everything was perfect, explanation was great, I said to my husband, smooth! Then came the day to pick up the camper van. I got greeted with very nice smile, then got told; ‘So now we just need the bond of $300 before we release you the vehicle! ’ Now you will get my frustration because no one told me about any extra bond! The pack we chose on the day, means we don’t need to pay a bond! That’s what we got told before we paid! ‘Yes this is the bond we collect before releasing, it’s for any fine or any toll charges! ’
I said to them; ‘I don’t mind paying, but we don’t like surprises! You guys should have told us or explained that on the day we came in to settled our payments! ’ I DID NOT PAY IT! Then comes the day of return! Me and my husband walked in, we knew we had to pay something because of the mileage use. The two Indian guys, were talking to each other in their own language while me and my husband were standing next to them. While awaiting for how much we need to pay, one of the Indian guys said, ‘You guys are good to go’ I said to my husband, ‘Oh I guess we are not paying any extra’ then we left. Half way away from there office, an email came through saying payment successful for your RUC! I was mad, my husband was frustrated, we were pissed! I called them straight away! They said to read the terms of condition it explains it! Now all it says there, is that payment will be collected, nothing about taking payment from debit card! As a customer, it will be very much appreciated, if they come and let us know how much mileage we used and how much we need to pay! Because if it’s hundreds, are they going to take that from your card without your knowledge?? All it says, payments collected nothing about the debit cards! I am very pissed, and the person I spoke with, did not help! I can call my bank now and stop the payment, but I know we have to pay that because we used the car! No one likes surprises in their bank account! Very bad experience and we won’t use them again!

Hired a jucy chaser from Auckland's and drove it down to Queenstown. Good space for just me and my snowboard. Van was warm when plugged in at campsites. Had a few issues to begin with but was able to swap vans in Christchurch. These vans are good once you get used to the space. Good having a shower and toilet in the van could easily freedom camp.

The staff member in the Perth office was so kind and supportive when I went to see if I was going to be able to drive the van I had hired in NZ. The people in Auckland was genuine and kind. I loved my little Jucy. I did 2 weeks with my kinds so I wanted something small that wasn’t too scary to drive. It was so freeing. I had no power and was slow on the hills. But I was never in a hurry so I just enjoyed the view. Really positive experience all round.

We booked a van for two months, and the service from Jucy was a disaster. We absolutely do not recommend them. The van was old (over 370,000 km), and many items were missing (power outlets, lights, etc.). Whenever we ran into problems with the van, the Jucy team was incompetent and unhelpful. They either didn't believe us regarding the issues we reported (faulty auxiliary battery, fridge problems, water pump failure, etc.) or simply couldn't fix them. We met many other Jucy customers who had the exact same issues and were equally dissatisfied. Even when we picked up the vehicle, they couldn't answer basic questions—such as how and where to fit snow chains. In short, it was a disaster. They force you to leave a review as soon as you pick up the vehicle, so be wary of the "good reviews."

Me and my two friends have just rented a Jucy van for two weeks. I do feel a lot of these reviews are unreasonable. I give 4 stars because one of the power sockets and part of the stove stopped working at the end of the trip. With that being said customer service were great. I’ve read reviews about cleaning charges. Guys just EMPTY YOUR TOILET it’s not their job to clean your sh*t and it’s just mad disrespectful. Dropped the van off , we cleaned up our mess beforehand. Jucy rentals gave us a Suzuki Swift for our 13 day rental. We ordered a small car and were more than happy with it. They are older cars and have high mileage but do the job without any dramas. Drop off and pick up were easy with friendly staff. There is a courtesy van from airport then after dropping off car they took us to the Sudima Hotel with is fantastic. Make sure you check the fuel before you depart. Pre departure photos showed the fuel just below full which I thought might just be as far as the gauge shows but just down the road it dropped to 3/4 full. I wasn’t worth going back as it would delay our trip so on return I mentioned it and without hesitation they credited back the equivalent amount of fuel that was missing. Very impressed they did this as I was not asking for a refund just bringing it to their attention. We will use them again.

We rented a car from Jucy not a campervan. The service and staff were excellent. The pick up and drop off were seamless. The vehicle itself was older, high mileage with a lot of cosmetic dents and scratches. With that being said, the price was far lower than any other rental agency, it functioned well and we had no mechanical issues. For the price it was perfect.
The service at the Auckland pickup was excellent, and really great to talk to the same person on my return. The convenience of the Van and the ease of it all really surprised me. I never thought I'd drive a Jucy Van around New Zealand, but I can't wait to go again.

We hired a Condo van for a 5 day roadie and it surpassed our expectations! The van was well equipped with everything we needed, everything worked well and we had no issues throughout the trip. This van is perfect for 2 people, could be tight with 4 but still manageable if you minimise luggage. If you’re doing a lot of driving, petrol can be quite pricey - we almost spent the same amount on gas as we did to hire the van! All in all such a fun experience and can’t wait to do it again soon :)

5 stars are entirely attributed to Launa, a fabulous member of staff at Jucy Auckland. After a frustrating day with mechanical issues she completely turned our moods around, she listened to every issue we had and sorted it on the spot and went out of her way to improve our experience (Also want to give our appreciation to the lovely lady with black curly hair, we didn’t catch her name but she was also very kind and helpful). Do yourselves a favour and ask for Launa, other staff members at Jucy could learn a lot from her!

I loved the experience!! It was beautiful. I just think they charged me too much for half of the pond that was missing to be filled, they charged me $133NZD and I think $75NZD was enough. But everything else is very good.

Great experience checking in. All the forms were filled in online so it was a quick check of details with the lovely attendant and through to meet our van. They were happy to add a couple of pillows to our set up and showed us the communal pantry for those little things to help on our trip.

We hired a JUCY campervan for a trip from Perth down to Esperance and had an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The whole process at pick-up and drop-off was smooth, quick, and well organised, and the team made everything really easy for us as first-time JUCY users. The van itself was clean, reliable, and really well set up for the trip .. everything we needed was included and worked exactly as expected. Driving from Perth through to Esperance was incredible, and having the camper made the whole journey so flexible and enjoyable. We never felt rushed and were able to stop at all the key spots along the way. What really stood out was how straightforward the whole experience was,no stress, no confusion, just a really well-run service. Would definitely recommend JUCY to anyone planning a WA road trip, and we’ll 100% be using them again for future trips.

Great experience with Jucy. Excellent service. We rented with two different branches (Auckland and Christchurch) over a month, two times chasers. Few points to consider :
- First van we got from Christchurch was an old one amongst gen 1 and was in dire need of love. Grey water tube with an hole in it (lousely patch with duct tape), electrical outlet kept disconnecting, fresh water tube was way too short (3-4 feet), stove half working, check engine kept turning on even if we had mechanics repair it… we could live with all of the above but we felt it was not worth our money. - Second van from Auckland was a more recent gen 1 and it was perfect. None of the flaws above. Make sure to ask for a recent car/van in your reservation!

We had a flight delay and the staff waited us until we arrived, thank for everyone especially Edleen with her great help
Basic RV camper. Used it for sleeping and microwave. Tires were quite worn with little tread left. That was not reassuring on slippery roads! TV is not functional unless you bring your own cord and a pre downloaded media. Given the narrow roads, try to rent the smallest unit available. Lots of twisty tight turns over half our trip was mountain roads... quite exhausting unless you have 2 drivers. Would recommend car rental--or escorted tour to be able to find parking to see all the wonderful sites. The RV had limited parking availability and missed a lot.

Basic RV camper. Used it for sleeping and microwave. Tires were quite worn with little tread left. That was not reassuring on slippery roads! TV is not functional unless you bring your own cord and a pre downloaded media. Given the narrow roads, try to rent the smallest unit available. Lots of twisty tight turns over half our trip was mountain roads... quite exhausting unless you have 2 drivers. Would recommend car rental--or escorted tour to be able to find parking to see all the wonderful sites. The RV had limited parking availability and missed a lot.

Throughout our travels, we were very bothered by a long list of defects the van had. While we felt the van has potential, the state of the maintenance makes the price really not worth all the hassle and inconvenience that comes with it. Furthermore, the van came with 2 major malfunctions that were only noticeable after a few days of usage, and when we tried to contact the organisation through different email addresses, we were ghosted for a full week after the first reply to try to find a location to repair these defects. In the end we just had to go out of our way during our holiday and show up unannounced at the Queenstown location, hoping that the malfunctions could be fixed in a reasonable amount of time. When we tried to contact the company with an email on December 21, we got no response. So on December 23, we called your office. We got an email back to try to find a location to repair the issues. I have responded to that email on December 24, 25, 26 and 28, with no responses again. This is not a respectful way of treating customers. Finally, after returning the van, we send a message to the company on January 7 to discuss the issues. We haven't had any reaction again (date January 19). The numerous amount of defects, the fact we had to drive with a leaking water tank (major malfunction number 1), we could not dispose of our gray water properly (making us very uncomfortable to dispose it inappropriately and against the campsite’s regulations) (major malfunction number 2), in combination with the lack of communication on their side, make the experience a rather poor one. It is most definitely not the way we wanted to spend our holidays. The list of defects (without considering the 2 major malfunctions): -some curtains would not close (there was no “click button” available to close them);
-the spark for the stove didn't work and no lighter was provided: making cooking the first night impossible;
-the inside table was so wobbly that eating in it was impossible, its was completely unusable;
-the glove compartment opened randomly by itself during driving;
-the inside of the passenger door is held by duck tape (and nearly falling off);
-the shower wall has a hole in it (fixed poorly with duck tape) leaking inside when taking a shower;
-the rubber of the windshield wipers was very old and made a horrible noise when in use;
-the motor is so loud (because of age) while driving that it makes listening to music or having a conversation at a normal volume a challenge, and also gives a headache after a few hours of driving;
-the camping chairs privided were falling apart (both back rest and arm rests);
-the elastic bands of some of the storage nets are broken, and considering the little storage provided in the walls (or the lack of hooks) this was extremely inconvenient;
-the mileage of the van is quite high, making the gas consumption very expensive. this is something that should’ve been communicated prior as our calculations on gas consumption were completely off. On top of the above list we had two major malfunctions that made use of the van actually impossible as intended. One of those malfunctions was an easy one to detect, since the grey water pipe did not have the appropriate pieces to connect the hose. This is something very easily detectable in any routine maintenance and should be inspected prior to handing a vehicle.

We had a jucy crib for two weeks in the north island and were overall pretty happy. Look, are they the best, most pristine and newest campers in the world? No. But if you’re not looking for that then this is the company for you. I would call them student/backpacker chic. The overall crib was good, it’s small and you have to be good at organisation in them, but they work well as they’re easy to drive and park everywhere and for us they were cheaper way cheaper than a self contained unit, and way less faff. Perfect if you’re staying in campsites the whole time. They show some signs of wear and tear (slight mold/mildew patches from the damp, not all the poppers on the insulation curtains work ect) but these are things you can easily live with/adjust too. The bed is also surprisingly comfortable which is a bonus. The opening/collection times can be a bit limited depending on your flight times, but the shuttle service and actual pick up and collection for us went very smoothly. The staff were really friendly and the Auckland office has a very nice vibe, the little shelves with things other people had left behind to reuse was a nice touch. And the recommendation of downloading the Gaspy app was a lifesaver. We were lucky in that we had nothing go wrong with our vehicle so I cant comment on how well they’re able to handle breakdowns and stuff.

Everything worked smoothly. I had a lot of fun with the Jucy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only negative point was that the lighter for the gas grill didn't work. A lighter can help, though😉. I would book with Jucy again next time. Thank you very much☺️.

Great staff who went out of their way to accommodate for me even giving me rides in order to make things easier for me when arriving in nz. Not talking about the shuttle bus but out of plan tranisting. They let me use the staff shower when i arrived after a 30 hour flight from Germany. I booked a car for about 7 weeks. Midway through I got driven into while in the south of NZ they provided me a new car instantly which because they did not have any regular cars left in Queenstown got upgraded without increasing the price and even refunding me for the days I didn't have the car because of the crash and the lengthy drive with the toe truck company. Never had they given me any problems and were super flexible all around

I spent 2 months in a jucy chaser travelling through the North and South island. My initial impression of claustrophobia was overcome within the first 3 days. After which I started to appreciate the design and functionality of the vehicle. That said there are some real issue that need to be addressed. The top bunk is great in that it can be left up as a bed. The downside is that when you encounter low temperatures there is no insulation and you are freezing. The other major issue is that the sink and hob covers close under gravity. So you cannot leave a kettle or a pot tk boil without manually holding the lid up. This is massively dangerous. The lids can close and cause a spillage of boiling or frying liquid into the van. Solution is easy fix magnets to the covers.

Vinay gets 5/5 stars. Vinay is the crew member that I worked with in the 3 times I have visited Juicy/Star. Once for pick up, once for repairs/exchange, and finally for drop off. He was there each time and remembered us, always smiling and helpful. He gave us instructions and tips based on prior feedback, and in the case of our exchange (due to a system failing on the RV) He was there after hours to help. This man goes above and beyond and deserves more recognition than just these words. As for the Polaris 6 (x2) that we had rented, they did their job, each had their flaws, and there were some times that I had to do some.comfort related repairs myself. All in all I would rent from them again.

Staff was good 👍 and the van was perfect for all 3 of us.. everything was going good till our van got broken down in Kaitaia. We rung the call centre back and fourth. At first it was hard to talk to someone regarding he issue, the communication was done by few different staffs.. at few points we were getting nowhere but the outcome was they sent the replacement 🚐. The team from affordable towing brought the 🚐 and the communication from the time of pick up my van to the drop off till on site was absolutely phenomenal. Overall experience was very good.

We had thought pre-check-in online was needed and could not get the form accepted there. After verifying the reservation, Lisa took us on a tour of our assigned van. We were almost a day early so we could look and crawl through but the final checks and detailing would not be completed until the next day, Monday. We received an initial tour and much information about the van and about camping in NZ from her. She was very helpful in sharing the details, in sharing her Hotspot link to book our Uber back to our hotel, and helping arrange our first thing in the morning arrival to pick up our camper. Her Maori hospitality was of the highest caliber. Our check out went smoothly with Lisa answering our new questions. She, her manger, and the entire crew helped my wife after she fell while touring the vanas she attempted to step in via the higher than normal rear gate. Thankfully, no major injuries from this.

The refrigerator is quite hard to access from outside because the door swings the wrong way. Lastly we had a tire losing air the last few days of our trip so we had to cut it short and return the van to Jucy and they did process a refund which was appreciated. My experience with Jucy was great! This is the second time we have hired a camper from Jucy and have enjoyed it both times! Such an easy camper to drive (we got the Condo) and I felt safe driving it even when the roads were not great or we were in Windy Gorges. It had everything we needed in it! Everything worked well. Great being able to have a free shuttle service to and from the airport. Can’t wait to pick a camper up from Jucy next year! A++! Definitely recommend.

Pro's: The folks who work at Jucy Auckland were absolutely phenomenal. The service we were provided to and from the airport, as well as picking up and dropping off the van was nothing short of amazing. I was a little surprised that the final walk-through was only for the outside of the vehicle. The interior of ours definitely had seen MANY trips, but got the job done and did what we needed. If you're looking for a spotless boujee van or RV, this is not the one you're looking for. Jucy offered an incredibly competitive rental rate compared to the rest of the market. We rented the Jucy Condo and it was a perfect size. Maneuverable, efficient, and has a small footprint. Our van did have high mileage and was rather old, but so what? Good luck finding a 2021 RV with low mileage for your road trip across New Zealand! We were fortunate to not experience any trouble on the road and had a smooth driving experience. Con's: Some things were missing that really impacted our trip. First, we rented 5 camping chairs from Jucy for our trip, two of which were broken when we took them out of the bag. The chairs were cheap, I would recommend checking yours before you hit the road. The next was the upper windows for the second bed. Both of them operated, but didn't quite lock, and neither of them had screens. This made it really difficult to use windows and keep bugs out. The seal on the door would randomly come off and you'd have to re-thread the whole thing. The chairs in the back are pretty stained. They're also horribly inefficient. The placement of them makes it so the folks in the back have to hunch over to see out the window. They'd be great for kids, but not for adults. Lastly, our ceiling fan just didn't open. No matter how hard you pushed the lever, it didn't move. Fortunately, the temps weren't too hot, but I imagine this wouldn't be fun in the summer months. My advice would be to do a thorough walkthrough of the interior of the van when you pick it up and be sure it's the one you want. With all of that being said, I'd rent from Jucy again and look forward to using them again in the future for the next NZ trip.

Everyone so friendly and helpful. Another major thing for the 5/5 was the ability to have totally stress free car rental. Zero excess or crash damage waiver. Brilliant for those of us who are risk averse and like a stress free experience. One very very minor annoyance, but not enough to reduce our opinion, there was no holder for the GPS😀

My husband and I hired a Condo camper with our little dog. It was the best! Nice and easy process when picking the camper up, we managed to find a place called Parking mode around the corner to securely park our car while we had the camper which was great. The condo camper itself was perfect for us, it was one of the newer vehicles so hadnt travelled as far as all the others. Such good pricing if you compare it to other vampervan hire companies - we didnt want one that had a bathroom as we had planned to stay at holiday parks the whole time. Staff at the auckland branch were so friendly and helpful, we couldnt find anywhere to refill the LPG tank but when we called the branch they said we could have it refilled at branch for $15 which was way easier to do than to drive all around looking for petrol stations that refill the small tanks. Iverall we were so impressed with our condo, we are planning another trip for October as one of the awesome branch members gabe us a discount code for our next trip!

Battery got replaced within another 30 minutes and we were on the road again less then 2 hours later. If Jucy would be globally present at this service level, I would rent Jucy everywhere.

Easy to rent except that they did not mention we needed an international licence (apparently a french one isn’t good enough) so we had to pay extra for a translation even though everything on the licence was written in french and English and it said on it “European drivers licence”. Otherwise the car was good and the shuttles to get to the car rental were frequent and easy to take.

Made a trip across all new zealand in full season with a juicy chaser with my family (we were 3) on high season, took the campervan at Christchurch (south island) and left it 23 days after at Auckland so i will note with all the experience with the car, not only the Auckland staff experience (which was great by the way): Pros: -The campervan was cool fully equipied and fully operating with no problems during all the trip. -Jucy company was correct on many points (had worse experience in europe for example) -Finally the van forged our unforgetable trip so it was a great experience for us. -The staff at Auckland was very kind and it was a really quick drop off. Cons: -The vehicule was old, already damaged at the pick up, the fridge died for a day or two but managed to repair it. -The vehicule is under-motorized, when you have a little slope, you go 30km/h on the highway, ironic when we took a campervan instead of a motorhome because we were scared of the NZ's roads, actually we should have taken a bigger vehicule with a better engine. -The staff at the pick up does not pay attention, at all, at the custumer, it was a first experience for us in a campevan/motorhome and even after telling that to them, nothing was explained you are just thrown away with the keys, we red something about it so we checked everything and we noticed that the fuel tank access was broken, we managed to fix it before going from the jucy's car park and it stayed locked with no possibilies to re open it so we called the employee who gave us the car (first time we call her back) before she showed us a lever behind the steering wheel (the we understood why the fuel tank access was totaly damaged, because if they always explain nothing so poeple tried to break it to open it before probably. -Always on the same theme, we managed to understand how to flush and dump ourselves after some days wondering why it wasn't explained at the begining, we even found out things and accesories until the last day because of the incompetence of the staff, to end this, i think it's a bit limit for a rental at this price. Conclusion: won't put a bad mark, this country has to much to give, but next time, jucy won't show it to us.

had a jucy champ for 8 weeks with stress free insurance. was a toyota estima with a ontop penthouse tent. it says for 4 people but would definitely not go with more than three. besides the usual issues you will have with that car like flat tires or falling off plastic bumpers everything was really awesome. everything was fixed in less than an hour so we had a great time and would go with jucy again. thanks so much guys 😍

Absolutely amazing Adventure picking camper van up in Christchurch & driving up to Auckland.... so good have booked a Jucy vehicle again from Queenstown to explore more of South Island. Defo a bucket list adventure highly recommend 100%
I had a really good experience with Jucy Rentals that I would like to share. I rented a campervan for a month for a road trip in New Zealand, and overall it was a fantastic experience. The customer service was excellent, which made it easy to get help when we had questions. The vehicle was spacious and in good condition, making it comfortable to travel around. We were also picked up and dropped off at the airport by shuttle bus, which was a great convenience. It was practical, and we felt well taken care of. Additionally, I appreciated the option to change bedding along the way and the backup phone number we received for emergencies. However, there were a few downsides worth mentioning. The gas bottle was so small that we couldn’t exchange it at any gas stations, and unfortunately, Jucy couldn’t assist us with this. Furthermore, there was a screw sticking out of the panel at the foot of the bed, which was a bit uncomfortable. The microwave was also not secured properly, so it jumped out when we drove on the highway, but fortunately, it didn’t fall completely out of the shelf. Overall, I would give Jucy Rentals a four-star review. Their service and vehicle were really good, but there is room for improvement, especially when it comes to the maintenance of the equipment.
This was a perfect financially sensible way to campervan tour throughout New Zealand. As a solo traveller l found the camper comfortable and well thought through. I would do this adventure again.
Great Trip around North Island NZ. Easy checkin/checkout process. Jucy crew is very nice and responsive to any issues or problems. Vehicle was clean and everything worked as advertised. Microwave only works with sufficient power hooked up, but not a problem for us. Fridge is s nice size on the cruiser.
The only thing I didn't like about my Juicy hire experience was having a bit of difficulty finding the address. Only because I went the wrong way and got a bit lost in the busy industrial centre! So my fault, not Juicy! Everything else was easy and pleasant. Staff at depot great, vehicle nice and clean, pick up from airport smooth with a helpful friendly driver Had them before, would have them again!
