My house was damaged when a tree came through my kitchen ceiling. I was emotionally traumatized and when the tree company poked a tree through the glass patio doors I felt like that was one thing that was going to break me and lose my composure. My initial thoughts were how I was going to clean that up because glass and water exploded everywhere. The Hays team came in just at that time and said we got you. We're here to help you and they quickly cleaned up everything and asked me to move away so they could take care of the problem. They quickly boarded up the house, and although everything is still sad, they made me feel better. I was impressed how well the team worked together and kept me in the loop on what was happening and when they would be there. I felt both compassion and no judgment as they had to pack up most of my kitchen. Shout out to David Cline and his team of Paul, Joseph and Felipe. Hays + Sons did great work restoring the major part of my main floor after water damage (Kitchen/Half Bath/Laundry/Pantry/ LR/DR). Hays + Sons has computer tools that helped them document the work for the insurance company. The adjuster specifically mentioned the ability to download Hays info directly into his system. I took the opportunity to upgrade the kitchen & half bath finishes and repair/refresh other things. Miodrag Dodig was very helpful in planning the work I needed and defining what was possible. The entire work team was skilled and friendly. Mick Eggebrecht's knowledge helped navigate problems that arose during construction job. Hay + Sons also did the initial salvage work to minimize mold from the original water damage. Travis Evans and David Cline lead that hardworking and friendly team which arrived promptly and were very helpful in removing the damaged materials, storing material to be reset and drying out the floors. I recommend Hays + Sons for all remediation and restoration work.

My experience with roof and gutter replacement had it's challenges and problems, but one person (Mio Dodig) worked with me tirelessly to insure the job got done correctly. He was the one person I could count on to answer my phone calls with the issues involved with the jobs being done at my property, and respond to their needs being addressed and corrected. He is an absolute asset to your operation, and likely the person who has seen to it that many of your jobs got done correctly. Mio's would be primary reason I would consider using Hays and Sons (Crown Point) in the future. I would also like to recognize the carpenter Mio sent for repair issues. He did an excellent job.

We called Hays and Sons when our sump pumps popped the circuit breaker during a heavy rain and our finished basement flooded. David came out and assessed the situation and also gave us information for our insurance company. We received the okay to clean up the water from our insurance company and Hays and Sons started work the same afternoon. David, Travis, LJ and Trictian moved furniture, pulled up the carpet padding and set numerous fans, dehumidifiers and an air cleaner. They checked the basement every day to be sure it was drying out, then removed all of their equipment. They were all excellent workers, polite, and knew what they were talking about and sent all of the required paperwork quickly to our insurance company.

In December we had an insurance claim for water damage. Tristan and LJ came out late in the evening to start the dry out process. They were very professional and extremely helpful every time they were in my home. Travis came out to take photos and explaines the whole repair process and then we met with Mio to go over the estimate. Every one of these men were helpful with answering our questions and speeding up the process to get the work done. Juan came out on a weekend to add some insulation during a cold spell while we waited for repairs to start, we were very grateful. We ran into a few bumps with a subcontractor but Carlos and Juan came out and noticed how badly our floor was installed. Carlos, Juan, and Chris then made sure it was all reordered and redone correctly by them this time! Carlos and Juan ended up doing almost all of the repair work needed and we are very pleased with their work! Chris was our project manager and we enjoyed working with him, especially my toddler! 😁 We would recommend anyone who has an unfortunate situation like ours to hire Hays and Sons. They handled our whole project from clean up and dry out to the repairs themselves and made sure it was done right. They also took care of everything with the insurance adjuster so I didn't have to worry about anything. The whole project took about 3 months and we were able to stay in our home.

I am so impressed with the overall services provided by Hays and Sons Complete Restoration. My parent’s house was damaged from a fire on June 1, 2023. My parents hired Hays and Sons to do the demolition, mitigation and reconstruction. All of the Hays & Sons’ personnel were friendly, professional, and sensitive to my parents needs. There was extensive water damage and the Hays and Sons’ staff quickly addressed it by drying out their house to reduce the possibility of mold. Their process for removing all furnishing was clear and concise. All items were tagged and accounted for which supported my parents’ peace of mind. The reconstruction work was done to the specification of my parents and now the house looks brand new!! It is just beautiful. This project was expected to take a year But due to the leadership of the Project Manager MICK EGGEBRECHT, they were able to move back home 4 months earlier than expected!!! Other Hays & Sons staff that must also be thanked for their service and support are ANGELA TUDDY, MIODRAG DODIG, KELLY METZ and TRAVIS EVANS who explained the process so that we could understand it first! Absolutely amazing!y sewer backed up and my house was flooded. Family room kitchen and basement all filled with sewer water and ruined. My insurance sent out Hays and they gave an estimate and asked me if I wanted to use them. I said yes. Within an hour Travis and his team were here. They began to clean and demolition immediately. Once my home was dry Rio stepped in to repair. All I can say now is my home is back to where it was. Even better. Rio and his crew took care of everything. This was all during the pandemic and a very hard time for me including burying my lab. Rio often checked in to make sure we were ok. We had a roof leak at my law office, and they resurfaced and sealed the entire roof making it completely waterproof and repaired all the water damage inside making everything like new. When I had a water leak at home due to a faulty fridge, I called Dave again and he and his crew replaced our wood flooring to like new condition and even helped us by refitting the wood trim to accommodate our new refrigerator. My lower level of my home flooded from a sewer back up during a storm, and my insurance company gave me two choices for the clean up and removal of the contaminated walls,carpets,furniture,etc. One being Hays and Sons and I can honestly say that they did an amazing job. They came out with in 12 hours with a team and secured the area as it was toxic from sewer waste. All the men were courteous and explained everything that they needed to do. They followed up with me several times following their service visit to make sure that everything was okay. I would give them 10 Stars if Google allowed.
They came to my home ASAP during a storm that went through NWI and I hope that I never go through a flood again,but if I did I would call the BEST IN THE BUSINESS again!

Storm took out power and trees. Most roads were closed due to trees and power lines down. Hays & Sons showed up at my house same day of the storm. They were able to remove the tree and fencing material that was on my house and AC unit within a few hours. Cover and check roof and exterior walls for leaks and damages, Check AC unit and electrical system for damage. With my elderly Aunt living with me on oxygen , Nipsco needed to be informed that the electrical was not damaged in the house for her oxygen use in the house. We were referred to Travis for a mold issue in our basement. He called immediately and set up an appointment to come and help us identify the source. After a thorough inspection, he ruled out a number of potential causes and helped identify where we were likely getting water. In our case, it was something we could fix on our own once the source was identified. The fact that we were not billed for the inspection and were also given instructions for fixing this ourselves was a welcome change compared to the way many other companies operate. Honest and reliable are not traits that every company exudes, but Hays & Sons has them in ample supply. I would definitely recommend this company.

My honey & I were on vacation in another state when a toilet overflowed at our home. It was bad. The water actually covered most of the flooring! The plumber I called recommended Hays & Sons for the water damage repairs. We are so thankful to go with them. Travis, the project manager for the mitigation phase, did an excellent job informing us of their progress. He also suggested how to deal with & what to expect from the insurance company. A couple of new problems popped up in which he promptly informed us of. That resulted in getting them fixed sooner than later. Mio inspected our home and assured us things would be taken care of promptly. Mick, the project manager for the restoration phase did an excellent job helping my lady pick out the flooring, carpeting, & cabinets to replace. He kept us up to date on all progress. Todd did wonderful work with the cabinetry and was very helpful with other hands-on work in the house. Everybody from the company was very friendly and willing to fix whatever little detail was missed. They've done top notch work and I would recommend them to anyone needing restoration work done on their home!

We had a fire damage in our kitchen. I was looking for a company to come and work with me and give me an estimate. I met with Mio who very carefully explain everything to me and told me to not worry that they will take care of everything. And let me tell you YES they did took very good care of me and my family. The very next day we moved out of the house so they can start working with cleaning and packing everything. I also met afterwards with out project manager Mick. He was responsible for everything that was going to be done in the house. I don't even know how to explain how good that guy was. I am not sure where to start about Hayes & Sons, so I will begin that if you hire this company, you have put your trust and your money in the best of hands! From start to finish it was a pleasure. Our project was a floor to ceiling complete remodel that took just over 12 weeks. The first person we met was the estimator Mio. He was professional, knew his job and provided the most detailed bid I’ve ever seen. We collected bids from other contractors, but decided to go with Hayes. After signing the contract, we met our project manager Mick. From the first time we sat down to the very end he was with us to guide, lead and support the whole time. The project was transparent, on time and very well done – not to mention on budget! We had daily communications, a clear understanding of the project and every trade person that came through was great – but a special shout out to Todd. He was there day in, and day out working and not only does an amazing job but is so positive and full of joy it’s contagious. Each time we thought things may go wrong, Mick and his team were there to make sure we kept moving forward through the end. I could go on for days about how Hayes made a project that we dreamed of into the home we are now are living in but there wouldn’t be enough room – You will not go wrong if you hire this company!

The best! Extremally happy with Hays and Sons. I had a normal inspection done on my house and we found some water stains in the Crawl space and the attic. We wanted to get it looked at. We had only 3 days to back out of the deal so we had to get it looked at within those 3 days. I started calling around, I called several different places and Hays and Sons were the only ones that were able to make it within those 3 days. Travis Evans was who I worked with, I explained to him my situation and he immediately assured me that he was going to make it out to the house and check it out. He met me at 9:00am at the house with another guy(I don't remember his name but he was super helpful). Travis did all the talking for me, he talked to the sellers in a kind but firm way and asked what the water staining was from. He then went into the crawl space, attic, and even some bedrooms and checked for moisture and mold. We talked about the findings and he answered all my questions. Also, the sellers have a bunch of stuff in the Crawl space and they have some medical issues so Travis gave them his card so they can set something up to help move the stuff out of the Crawl space for them when they move out. On top of all of that, it was 100% free. I wasn't charged a dime and he was there about an hour. I will defiantly be recommending Hays and Sons to everyone I know!

They helped us navigate the insurance claim process and restore our basement to better than it was before the flood. I’m very thankful for the service provided by Hays + Sons during what ended up being a huge mess at my home. I called them out for a roof leak during a bad storm, but while they were here, we found that my crawl space had flooded with almost 6 inches of water due to a broken pipe. This review is for the Crown Point office. I had a small fire in my kitchen and I can't thank Hays & Sons for helping me get through the restoration. Travis was the point man and from the initial contact to our very last communication, he was there for me. Never did I wait more than a couple hours for him to respond to my text or call. Most importantly Travis made the entire process seem effortless which then calmed my nerves immensely. This could have been a very stressful month. Along with Travis I would like to thank Trictain & David. They were extremely careful in moving furniture etc from room to room and in putting shelves and pictures back up on my walls. In 2016, there was a house fire on south side of house. At that time, we hired our own contractors rather than accept insurance recommendation...and work was "Ok" Sept 27, 2019 house was hit on north side by mini tornado that ripped off sections of roof, causing water to rush in through attic, ceiling fans, tops of picture windows, causing cracks throughout living room ceiling...you get the picture. This time, I allowed ALLSTATE to choose the Company, and SO GLAD I did. Even that night during ongoing storm & w power line down in my driveway, I was called & advised how to do whipholes in ceiling. Next morning, immediate tarp on roof. In a 1700 sq ft house, they had to install 16 fans! Travis Evans was initial representative, with water mitigation. He's wonderful..explained every step that we would go through. Then the Project Manager, Mick Eggebrect took charge on repairs. Even some of work we'd had done in 2016 from fire, now had H2° damage. He & his team of Fernando & Rijulio were EXCELLENT. Also, the electricians & company he choose to restain my wood floors...can't say enough. All, and I do mean all, employees in this company are respectful, communicative (answer calls/texts almost immediately),totally professional. I feel it's important to add, for women reading this, that at times we do not feel listened to or respected when we have to deal with construction issues. These kind men never made me feel uncomfortable about any questions or concerns I hit them with. I find that very commendable. My neighbors, who thought my house was jinxed, now have to eat those words....the house looks great!

Mick was my project manager, he is very professional and likes to make sure things are done throughly but yet in a timely matter. He keeps you in the loop of what’s going on at your property. Communicate has never been a problem with Mick and I know I’m not the easiest person to communicate with or even please but hey he pulled it off. He gives opinions and suggestions when you ask. Always there to help. My house was completed in August just gave him a call and it’s October and he came out like he said he was. Mick is a very down to earth guy very caring, and funny. You also get a 5 year warranty on the work they complete for you. I will be returning to Hays and Sons if I need any other repairs. To him this is not a job It’s his career and he really does care Thank you so much Mick.

Overall I was thrilled with the work that Hays and Sons provided following hail damage to our home. The workers were polite and once the work was started it was done quickly. Everything looks great and I am happy with the repairs that were made. I will say that the billing was quite confusing, having received several different bills and quotes etc. Part of that was due to the nature of working with my insurance company, but the billing process could have been more clear.

In December we had an insurance claim for water damage. Tristan and LJ came out late in the evening to start the dry out process. They were very professional and extremely helpful every time they were in my home. Travis came out to take photos and explaines the whole repair process and then we met with Mio to go over the estimate. Every one of these men were helpful with answering our questions and speeding up the process to get the work done. Juan came out on a weekend to add some insulation during a cold spell while we waited for repairs to start, we were very grateful. We ran into a few bumps with a subcontractor but Carlos and Juan came out and noticed how badly our floor was installed. Carlos, Juan, and Chris then made sure it was all reordered and redone correctly by them this time! Carlos and Juan ended up doing almost all of the repair work needed and we are very pleased with their work! Chris was our project manager and we enjoyed working with him, especially my toddler! We would recommend anyone who has an unfortunate situation like ours to hire Hays and Sons. They handled our whole project from clean up and dry out to the repairs themselves and made sure it was done right. They also took care of everything with the insurance adjuster so I didn't have to worry about anything. The whole project took about 3 months and we were able to stay in our home.

Just finished working with Restoration team from Hays and Sons due to water leak in our kitchen on our wood floor that also cause damage to our basement ceiling.
