We have just our purchased our second RV from Great American RV in Hammond, but this time a fifth wheel. We shopped around a little at other dealers in Louisiana and Mississippi, but felt like something just wasn’t right with our experiences at those other companies. It was Luke, our first salesman from our first purchase that was missing! So, back to Great American, specifically for Luke’s help again. As before, he was super friendly, knowledgeable, eager to answer any questions, and was not ever once pushy! We cannot leave out our service technicians, Keith T. And Mark! They both went above and beyond to make sure we were safe to travel. They quickly realized there was a problem with a fuse in our truck that stopped the rv’s running lights from working. They changed our fuse, which wasn’t really an RV issue. Both of these guys were friendly, knowledgeable AND kind! Thanks again, Great American, for a terrific experience!

We bought a brand-new camper from this dealership and unfortunately had an issue not long after we got it home. We found a water leak around the washer/dryer area, and after looking into it more, there was also some previous floor damage that wasn’t noticed at first. Of course, we were very disappointed and frustrated, especially after spending that kind of money on a brand-new unit. But I do want to give the dealership credit for how they handled it. They took the first camper back and put us in another brand-new one. Things don’t always go perfectly, but to me, how a business handles a problem says a lot. They could have made the situation much harder than it was, but instead they worked with us and made it right. We really appreciate them standing behind the sale and taking care of us. We’re hoping for lots of good trips in the new camper!
If you’re buying a used camper and you can do an overnight, we recommend that. We had a really great experience from beginning to end. We stayed the night and found a leak in the outdoor shower. They came back out and got it fixed before we drove back to Houston. It’s a used camper so we know it’s not going to be a perfect camper but really appreciated how important it was to them for us to leave happy.
We had a pretty good idea what we wanted in a travel trailer when we arrived. Tyler listened to our requirements and showed us several trailers. He was courteous and knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Overall very happy with our purchase experience and looking forward to our Imagine 2500RL. Update: It’s been 1 year now and we’ve had about 10 camping trips. We wanted to thank Alex Knapp and the tech team for taking care all of the issues (minor things) that came up during our warranty year. Alex always kept us informed of the status, from working with the manufacturer to get approvals, ordering parts, and making sure she was ready to go before our next trip. Overall still very happy with our GARV experience.

We were very impressed with the service. I have heard they were pushy but this was not my experience. Mr Brian Wills listened to me, took into consideration what my needs and budget was. He took me to look at a camper that fit . I explained that I wanted to go check out other places and they gave me a card and didn’t get frustrated. Ultimately I ended up back here and we purchased the first camper they showed me. We took it out the same day and love it!
I work for a local Sign company and we do business with these guys. I was out there 2 weeks ago doing some routine maintenence on the big sign by I-12 and noticed how meticulous everything was. The Rv's the landscaping the entire property is beautiful and these guys are a delight to do business with.
I was definitely a RV Dealership skeptic but…… Great American RV and Brian Wills, Mike Trosclair and Mark (from Service) have definitely changed my mind. They demonstrated professionalism at every turn - from sales to service to finance. I would buy another RV from them in a heartbeat - which is something I honestly thought I’d never say. Thanks guys!!!

The entire process was smooth, easy, and stress free. He was professional, helpful, and made sure everything went the way it should. I really appreciate the service I received and will definitely bring my business back to GARV as well as Drake in the future. I highly recommend!
I dropped off my RV for multiple problems, and I had Alex as my service advisor. He kept in touch every couple of days to keep me informed of the progress. Not once did I have to call and inquire about the status of my RV. Everything single thing I brought it in for has been resolved and the service and workmanship are top notch. The new awning and lights are awesome! He also worked with my extended warranty to get 90% of my issues covered at no cost to me. I would recommend anyone with an issue to go see these guys, you won’t be disappointed.
Nikki and Mike were awesome this morning addressing a small problem that reared its head with our motor coach last week. I mixed up the appointment,, they took me anyway and got me in and out in one hour. Mike was terrific in explaining the issue and remedy. Nikki and Mike were both professional, friendly and polite. it just must be a thing at Great American RV b/c the same thing happened with Dee and Jeremy several weeks back when they were replacing our AC and refrigerator. And Bobby And Ryan six weeks ago negotiated the sale and financing with the same attitude of professional, friendly approach in working thru the details. Y’all have a great team!!! Mr. Jim in the tech Dept is Always very knowledgeable and immensely helpful. He assisted me in correctly identifying my issues and the one who greets me when I arrive . An incredible asset to your company. Alex was very communicative and timely with information and setting expectations. Both men were very professional and friendly!!!
Alex Knapp went above and beyond for us. We were traveling by and had a slight issue that we could not figure out. We stopped Alex in the parking lot, he dropped what he was doing, and came to look at our issue. I thought we would have to give a sob story to try and be seen since we did not purchase from Great American RV but Alex stepped up and helped us out. Turns out the issue was something I didn’t know how to work and Alex had us back on the road in 10 minutes time. If I hear about anyone in the area needing help, I will make sure to recommend Alex and the good people at Great American RV.

This place was GREAT! Visited the Hammond location. Had several items to address in my 2020 Tiffin Bus. Kealy did an excellent job of giving me estimates and communicating progress. Moe, the tech working on my issues, was a rock star. He fixed my coach like it was his own. Could not be happier with this entire experience.
