The car was a hybrid so really economical. It only had 3 other drivers before we got to use it so was in "as new" condition. Pick up and drop off were seamless. The cost was also extremely reasonable. Staff were friendly and helpful

Dunedin ezi rental staff fantastic
We have used ezi rental before and again we are happy . They have well organised pick up and drop off systems. We will rent off them again.In future though we will not be asking for a toyota . The new toyotas are terrible handling cars so if you have passengers dont rent them rent a different brand. Our passengers felt very unwell because of way toyota rolls and wallows. Also cvt transmission feel disappointing. Not ezi rentals fault. We will be renting off ezi rentals again but just not that brand of car.

Good pricing, good service
Good pricing, have only used the Christchurch domestic airport, staff are polite and efficient, with easy drop box when returned. I have had new cars and some with 70,000kms on the clock but they are always clean and I'm really only using around Christchurch Central areas. All in all haven't had a bad experience with them.

Very helpful staff, easy check-in and return
Pick up and drop off were extremely easy and efficient. The car was quite new and very clean. We had to return the vehicle much earlier than expected due to an emergency back home. The team at Ezi could not have been more helpful and we will certainly use them when we return to NZ to continue our holiday.
Great vehicle and experience
Very new vehicle. Nice to have all the safety features of a modern car, like lane assist etc. Great customer service, the whole process to pick up and drop off at Christchurch Airport was super easy. Pricing was very competitive and no hidden charges.

Great value !! Brand new car, very clean, good car (Rav4). Easy pickup and return. I do recommend this local company. Only lack: they hava a free local phone number for any issue, but whatsapp number, which would be perfect for us that don’t have a lical esim card (but an international data only sim). Nevertheless, we were abble to change our return date (extend it) by exchanging emails. Great service !

Ezi made it SO Ezi
We had our booking via a tourist company but given the ease of picking up and dropping off, as well as the quality of the vehicle, we wouldn’t hesitate to use Ezi again. The real clincher was when our train trip back to Christchurch fell through and we needed a vehicle to get there, Ezi managed to swing it so we could hire the Rav for an additional two days - and being able to drop off at the airport the day we flew out made it SO convenient. They were fantastic from start to finish!
Good driving experience
This 2026‑plate car was in fantastic condition and drove very reliably. It was easy to find the Ezi counter at the airport; pickup formalities and key hand‑over were fast. The vehicle was only a short walk away outside the airport. Drop‑off was also straightforward. Since I returned early, I just left the keys in the key‑drop box. Strongly recommend this rental agency.

Ended up with a late model Ford Puma ST which was a nice car to drive. Being a mild hybrid it was very economical and had quite a bit of pep. The staff were very very helpful and friendly. I would have no hesitation recommending Ezi to anyone looking to hire a car in New Zealand. Thanks guys

Was very speedy and easy, from the online booking, email updates & reminders, desk sign in process, collection and drop off. A very good price too and a clean & tidy vehicle and a really good experience all around. Will definitely use Ezi Car again for all future rental car bookings.

I got the car I asked for and it was economical
I got the car I asked for and it was a brand new 2026 Rav4 hybrid. Such a treat. I have been driving for 45 years and never got to drive a new car. The pickup was easy and fast. When i rang to double check that I would get the actual car I asked for it was confirmed. The staff were friendly and efficient. The hybrid made the 1500kms we drove affordable in the current fuel crisis. It was a pure pleasure to drive, high performance and very quiet.

Very friendly customer service
My pick up and drop off point had been mixed up in my booking. The airport branch called the city branch ahead of me arriving to let me know what happened. The service I received at the city branch was so friendly and helpful. She was so apologetic that they didn't have a vehicle at the airport they could have given me and advised the person at the airport branch had rung her so she could apologize to me even though it was not ezi's fault. She also said she would talk to her manager and see if there was any chance we could change the drop off location. It couldn't be changed but I appreciated the effort.

The price was excellent, the counter service was prompt, friendly and efficient and the vehicle was in excellent condition and comfortable. I had a Toyota cross which was a dream to drive.
Excellent car for a great price
Their flexibility and understanding at pickup was excellent. The car was almost brand new and a pleasure to drive; the sensors made parking a breeze and it reminded me to turn the lights off. It had excellent fuel economy and the navigation system was easy to use. Very affordable price - we got the toyota corolla cross (hybrid) and it had plenty of space for 3 or 4 people. Great location for pick up and drop off right in christchurch city centre, highly recommend!

The whole pick up and drop off process was smooth with the office location easy to find and an easy walk. The staff were efficient and the car was immaculate and as described without being substituted for a cheaper brand. Would definitely recommend.

Had a great experience with Ezi. The vehicle was in excellent condition, felt almost brand new despite being a year old, and was perfect for our New Zealand road trip. We unfortunately had a flat tyre during the trip, but Ezi’s customer support team was amazing, their response was prompt and the team was very helpful throughout. They communicated clearly and followed through with the reimbursement smoothly. Things can go wrong on any road trip, but Ezi handled the situation really well. Would happily rent from them again!

Exit airport main doors and look for car rentals or ask any friendly airport staff. Have your booking number and licence ready ready along with deposit. Quick process and your off on your journey. Friendly staff. Reasonable price for 2weeks. unlimited km's. Had a hybrid so done well on petrol. Great on the long drives.

Auckland Airport The Good: VERY nice employees Great policy, full coverage with no questions asked if damage or accident occurs Local Company with Local Hospitality Not As Good: Auckland location is off site. You call for a shuttle, walk quite a ways to board the shuttle bus, and are taken to a small building off site, can be a bit crowded and no air conditioning during this time. In Christchurch location is on site. Fewer rental choices. If you want to change day of may not have options for a different vehicle. Christchurch Airport Super happy with the ease of drop off. Quick and friendly employees.
I just read past reviews and thought it right I should update this. In July 2018 I rented a Toyota Rav for my family on our 6 day Auckland holiday. The vehicle was new. It was a reasonable rental rate and I had no issues of complaint about the company. I was surprised that there is no office inside the airport, but once I communicated with them they had a shuttle bus to me in 10 minutes, picked up all our gear, then a 5-minute ride to a quick pick up of my vehicle. Our return was at 5:30 am and they were there ready to go with the shuttle to get me on my early flight to Sydney. I'd choose them agian.
I rented my car from Ezi Rentals on an incredibly stormy day in Auckland where all flights were delayed or cancelled and when I got to the rental spot there was a huge line out the door. But I must say the 4 ladies behind the desk were positive, smiling, helpful and had excellent customer service throughout. I was so impressed.
