(older review)(guiniea pig)____Guinea Winnie Bair(Michelle)...On July 3rd, on one of the busy nights of the year, My guinea pig got an ear infection. Before I knew of DoveLewis, I called a extic vet that was about to close, they told me to call DoveLewis, which was what Vetco and Banfield said too GO TO DOVELEWIS, I called DoveLewis, I was help by the office staff and if they didn't have an answer for me, right away they went to get me an answer even though all the Vet Techs were running around busy busy. I never seen such a wonderful Vet ER 24/7 place before, how well smooth it runs. The staff tried to keep everyone updated as much as they could, even when 2 hour away turn into few, I went in at 9:20pm and was out about 2am July 4th. I walked in, I saw a Vet Tech right away, the same one I spoke to on the phone, they asked me few questions, explain to me with extic pets they like to take them back away from the lobby of larger animals to keep them calm. I was fine with that...after about an hour, I think I got an update, not sure when, time went by fast so I couldn't keep track but I think it was about an hour. Office staff walked up to me, remember me, knew my pet, and told me he was stable and eating. About 30mins into July 4th, I was seen by DR. Montgomerie, She didn't rush me, she took her time with me like she did with each family before me. She looked at me made eye contact even though I was so tired I don't remember if she had brown eyes or not. She made sure to answer every little question I had, even if it was dumb, or felt rude for me to ask/question, the vet techs even went back a few times before I left to ask random questions for me which help me in the end. The office staff was friendly and came by with an update of the treatment plan for me, and told me I could wait in the room or lobby or outside or my car, which ever would make me comfortable and she would come get me. I went into the lobby, That last hour felt forever, I really just wanted my furbaby, but well worth the wait. They gave him mixture of ear drops to help him, and gave me a list of extic vets I can go see for a follow up. They told me about the first 24hours is free if it has something to do with that condition they are treating, over the two weeks from date I came in, I get 50% off the visit I believe its the same deal, if its for the same problem but ASK FIRST DO NOT TAKE MY WORD FOR IT, I can't remember that part about it. I got my medication and my guinea pig, got all the way home and, well the medication wasn't closed all the way, I WAS LIKE OH NO WHAT DID I DO. SO I called DoveLewis, they told me, no worries, they can give me another refill without having to bring him in just come by. I was grateful for that because I been told before I need to bring them in every time. Dovelewis is very friendly, great ER vet or you need help now...they do not want, they have a Vet Tech talking to you as soon as you walk in and sometimes they will take your pet back depending of what is wrong, they will not just make you wait if something MAJOR is happening like a reaction to something or being attacked or hit by a car. So if you go here do not think because you got there first, you will get out first. Depends on what is wrong with your pet and others because if your pet isn't about to die but another one needs blood now, than sorry you gonna have to wait, but if that was your pet who needed blood, YOU BE THANKFUL TO COME TO DOVELEWIS!!! I feel this is more like a human ER room but way more in the flow. I am so glad I came here. I haven't found a ER vet since I moved here, So I Go to Vetco and Banfield normally depending on what I need, but even they told me to take my Guinea Pig to DoveLewis or the other vet I originally called first, so if two major clinics for Dogs/Cats is going to say go over here for extic ER care until I get to a extic vet, I am going to call them not overthink it. Dovelewis is very well known in the portland area and to the west of it. I am coming from Hillsboro to Portland
