We had a really good experience at this dentist office with my 1-year-old and 3-year-old. Of course, my babies cried (which is totally expected at that age), but the staff was incredibly patient, calm, and understanding the entire time. They never rushed us, never acted frustrated, and spoke so gently to both of my kids. They took their time explaining things and made sure I felt comfortable too. That kind of patience with little ones truly means everything as a parent. Even with a few tears, it was still such a positive experience, and I’m so thankful we found a dentist office that handles toddlers with so much care and kindness. Highly recommend for other parents with young kids!

We just recently had to change pediatric dentist due to the care we were receiving for our 4 year old. We were recommended to try Children's Dentistry of Knoxville and we couldn't be happier with their results. The kindest safe, welcoming environment for kids of all ages. Our daughter just had to have a dental procedure with sedation. Dr. Watson and his nurse Rachel were absolutely wonderful walking us threw the process and Dr. Phillips did an amazing job on her teeth! They all took such great care of our sweet girl. My ten year old son has autism and required some work under sedation to address cavities. This was the first major procedure he had, so obviously we were nervous about it. The team at CDOK was kind and comprehensive with their explanations about the work and cost. Their partner anesthesiologist, Dr. Watson, and his nurse were also great and thorough. While this type of procedure would worry any parent, this team made it as easy as possible for us - from the medical concerns through the billing ones. Dr. Phillips and his team are absolutely wonderful. While I hope we can avoid cavities in the future, I know if we have them, our kids will get great care from CDOK next time too.

This place is great for kids! It has this really cool jungle theme and a play area. I was nervous to take my toddler to her first appointment but the staff was wonderful! A huge shoutout to both Abby and Emma for their speed of care and attention to detail with our daughter’s care. We have been going here for many years and have nothing to say but remarkable things about this business… especially the quality of care. The “icing on the cake” is the prize token they provide your child to redeem at one of the prize towers (~16 total choices) after they he appointment. It’s a wonderful incentivization tool and it leaves your little ones walking out with a smile. Thank you all for your true love that you pour into your work!

I just gotta say, we love this place. Such a relief walking in everything is about kids. You can tell right away that's what they care about. The front desk staff are very sweet. Of course dental issues aren't fun or cheap. But they do great to even it all out. Both Dr. Phillips and the hygienist Mindi are amazing. Super nice great with kids. I could ask for better people helping my child with dental work. My son needed a crown and a few fillings. I'm just so impressed with the care they took to make sure my son was comfortable the entire time.

Love this office so much! My daughter has severe anxiety revolving around any sort of doctor visits. Today was the first dentist visit that she didn’t jump out of the chair and cry. (Which has been a goal of ours since she started going in 2021) They take their time with her and explain what’s happening as they do it. We have been patients at CDOK for appx. 10 yrs. and while we have always received great service, today Cassie exceeded all expectations. Our son had his first procedure without anesthesia and she calmly and patiently explained the entire process (multiple times) and eased his nervousness. Dr. Jim was amazing and calmly spoke with our son during the process. I cannot overstate how much I appreciate the front desk, Cassie, and Dr. Jim’s efforts today. Dr. Phillips and his team took outstanding care of our son. We had quite a few dental surprises at an early age which required multiple procedures. And as hard as it was to watch our child go through these, Dr. Phillips and his team handled our son (and managed our nerves!) exceptionally. My son (4 yrs. old) has sever anxiety about doctors and dentists. Our first two attempts at an adult dentist were terrible and I thought it had ruined any chances of a pleasant experience. We were recommended Children's Dentistry of Knoxville by his babysitter because he had trauma to his teeth. I did some online research and looked up some reviews. First, the location is SUPER easy to get to. Second, front the parking lot my son recognized Mickey Mouse Clubhouse playing on the TV (no the TV is not that big!). Third, when we walked in it was warm lighting, and kid themed to the max! My son immediately felt comfortable and played with the toys until they called his name back. He was enamored with the huge tree as we walked passed the rooms and chairs. He wasn't focused on anything but the tree with pretty lights. It was great! The hygienist (Ms. Heather) was so amazing! She gets kids! :) She took her time, explaining all the tools and what she would be doing. She even did an excellent job with him doing x-rays. She was very very knowledgable and took her time explaining all the things with his trauma. Dr. Phillips was incredibly kind and gentle. He was very knowledgable and reassuring. I am so very thankful we picked Children's Dentistry of Knoxville! They did so great! My son did great and is even looking forward to his 6 mo cleaning! Update - we just had his 6 mo cleaning and it went so smoothly! I absolutely love Children's Dentristy of Knoxville! The hygienist was incredible and listened to my son when he expressed if he was nervous about something. She explained everything and went slow to give him time to adjust. A night and day difference from 1 year ago! Yay!!

I’m very impressed with this practice. The atmosphere is amazing for kids with plenty of things to do in the waiting room for toddlers, little kids, and teens! They have an awesome movie theater too! The overall jungle theme is just too cute! So far we’ve seen Dr. Phillips and Dr. Hollingsworth and both have been very kind and knowledgeable! I ask a lot of questions because I want to make sure my children’s teeth are not only currently healthy but that we’re also putting into practice things that will help for the future. Both doctors were very nice and I never felt rushed when seeing them/asking questions. I’m also extremely impressed that they cleaned my 2/4/6 year olds calculus, at a previous dentist they never even did it until age 6! They’re doing an amazing job of helping children love the dentist! We are looking forward to seeing them every 6m!

We just moved to the area and as my sons 6 year molar pushed through we thought a chunk of it broke off. We hadn’t had time yet to get a dentist so I just googled “pediatric dentist near me” . I called and Children's Dentistry of Knoxville got us in almost right away (we called on Thurs aft and they got us in first thing Monday). We received amazing service, thankfully my sons molar was not broke and we were able to get things sorted well. Plus they were affordable!

If you have a neurodivergent kiddo, this is the dentist you're looking for. They are so patient, and very accommodating to anxiety and sensory issues. They offer full anesthesia for procedures that might be simple enough for some kids, but a sensory nightmare for others. As a parent, I REALLY appreciate the communication. Every step of the way they make sure that I know EXACTLY what is going on. They're checking in before/during/after every procedure to make sure things are going well.

I want to start this by saying my son is autistic and has lots of sensory issues. We came here after it was suggested by our DIDD case worker and I was skeptical at first. My son "hates" the dentist and every visit before turned into a meltdown. From the minute I called this office, I felt welcomed and heard. Every concern was met with compassion and options. I wish I knew the lady's name who answered our call, because she was so warm, polite, and patient with me. Today, we arrived for his appointment and he's nervous. Jamie brings us back, xrays are done, and she listened and answered every single question my son had for her. He enjoyed the weight of the xray vest so you know what she did? She let him keep it on for the entire visit. Never rushed him, never got annoyed with him, she was fabulous! Every move she made, she would stop and explain it step by step for him and he slowly calmed down, eventually settling in and actually let her clean his teeth! I could actually relax and just watch, instead of holding him down and trying to keep him from yanking her tools out of her hands. I can't say enough about Jamie's professionalism and handling of my son's unique needs. Dr. Hollingsworth was also super gentle with him and explained what needed to be done throughly and laid out all of our options, allowing me to decide what was best for our needs. Finally, the lady we talked to on the way out, I also neglected to get her name, was so kind and generously let my son write a note for her wall because he liked her collection above her desk. He wrote "Best Dentist" and my heart was so happy. In the car, he said he still "hates" going to the dentist, but he can deal with it if we keep going here. That's the biggest win possible in my book!! From start to finish, best experience we could ask for. Above and beyond expectations! Thank you to everyone we have interacted with so far, you have no idea how much this experience means to us, both the patient and the over protective mom. I think my son's note summed it up perfectly, "Best Dentist".

Being someone that works in the medical field and directly with people I'm extremely picky with any kind of care provided to my kids. I have research and read reviews before I take them to a place. All of that to say that I did that with Children's Dentistry and let me tell you... They did not let me down! My 4 yr old LOST her mind once the cleaning was going to start. I was embarrassed and felt so bad to be wasting their time with trying to get her to calm down. They were so patient and reassured me that it happens. We tried and tried to get her to let them do the cleaning and she refused. So we rescheduled that part. However, she allowed them to the exam at least and they gave her a token and tooth brush afterwards which actually won her over! Now she is asking me to take her tomorrow and my other two can't wait to go now hearing from their little sister. So happy to have found this dentistry!

I cannot say enough good things about this place. My 9 year old daughter has been coming here for about a year now and she is now EXCITED to go to the dentist. When we first started going here, she had quite a few problems with her teeth, she had to have a pulpotomy, and many fillings in the following months. We are new to the area and had a great first experience! When we arrived we parked in one of the number spaces and texted our name, make and model, and space number and received a confirmation text back. Our dental assistant came out to the car at our appointment time and took our temperatures while we sat in the car. We then followed her into the building to our rooms. My son, 3 screamed at his last dentist appointment and I had to hold him thrashing on my lap... Needless to say, we were a little anxious about this appointment. Our dental assistant was very good with my son and talked very gently to him explaining all of the different instruments and even letting his test them beforehand so he wouldn't be so anxious. I was shocked when he laid back and sat still for the whole cleaning and examination! My daughter, 8 was next door getting her teeth cleaned at the same time. They let her know that I would be next door and talked to me asking permission for each step and following up with me so I knew how everything went. Both kids had TVs above their chairs that distracted them from the cleaning/examination. At the end of the visit, each of my children were given a toothbrush and a coin to put in a machine for a prize at the end of the appointment which they were both thrilled with. Thank you!

Dr Phyllips has been our pediatric dentist (for all three of my girls) for years. He has an excellent bedside manner and is caring with a great personality. He has found cavities very early and prevented a lot of future issues by being proactive. He also arranged for us to have appliances placed for two of our girls which were painless, and were the only thing that finally broke their thumb-sucking after years of different options. Most recently, my youngest knocked her permanent tooth out and Dr Phyllips was out of town. He responded to my photos on text message immediately and personally called around Knoxville to oral surgeons to get my daughter in urgently (a 90 min window) while on his own vacation. He goes above and beyond for his patients. I cannot recommend him enough. My daughters tooth is still alive two months later, and I have Dr Phyllips, as much as the oral surgeon, to thank for it. Thank you for everything Dr Phyllips!

AMAZING! I took my daughter for her first ever dentist visit and it was wonderful! The hygienist allowed my daughter to look at and touch all the tools, she was extremely friendly with her, they have cartoons on the ceiling for the kids to watch while they clean their teeth. The dentist was also very kind with my daughter, and understood that she was startled by loud noises, so he was quiet and calm. They take the time to explain things to you instead of rushing you out. I loved the visit! She goes in June to be put under sedation to fix a bunch of little problems at once, and even though I'm a nervous momma, I think she'll be in great hands there!

This was such a great experience for my 3 year old. This was his first dental appointment, and this Mommy was very nervous about how my little one would react. My son has sensory issues that can cause certain situations to be challenging. From the moment we arrived, my child seemed to feel at ease. The office is decorated kid-friendly, and the staff went out of their way to make sure my son was accommodated. My son did not have one sensory behavior issue, and as you can see from the picture, he really likes Dr. Darryl. Our youngest (2 yrs old) had gone a few times to another dentist, and she did not have a good experience. It has always been difficult to get her to let us into her mouth and even brush her teeth. This bad experience made it even worse. I had seen good reviews about CDK and they sponsor different things in the area and I'd seen their name, so we decided to give this place a try because I was starting to see problems with her teeth myself. It was wonderful! My child is still talking about this place, and she looks forward to going back and seeing the super patient and friendly staff. Everyone was so kind and even treated me as a parent with respect and honesty. Some places are all about kids so adults feel talked down to. And some places are noht actually kid-friendlly. We had Ms. Logan and Ms. Alisha, who were beyond excellent, and I think my daughter is even looking forward to her next visit.

Amazing experience. Brought my 3 year old here for her first dentist appointment. The dental hygienist was super sweet and patient with my daughter and explained everything in detail. There's TVs with headphones which really helped keep her distracted and the waiting room had several toys/activities for all age levels. The main dentist was great as well - he explained what needed to be done (she had two cavities) and didn't make me feel crappy about it (daughter had paci for two years, nursed for two years/and during the night, and had milk before bed for a year). Bottom line, really great experience and my daughter wants to go back.

We love Dr Darryl (as his young patients call him). He is so gentle and friendly with my children. The office is the best. They have a gaming area, movie screening room, and play room in the lobby. His receptionist is always so friendly and remembers to offer school excuses. The kids lie back with their cool shades on and watch tv that is on the ceiling while getting their cleaning. The same in treatment rooms. Dr Darryl's staff is so tender to put the kids at ease.

We had quite a time trying to find a dentist who would fill my son's cavities (our regular dentist does cleanings for kids, but not fillings). I wish we had come here first (we didn't because they're out of network for our dental insurance, but it would have been worth the extra money). We went to three other dentists - the first two refused to work on my son when he cried during the painful numbing shot, even though he was holding still! (I don't recommend Pediatric Dentistry in Farragut unless you have perfect children who don't cry.) By the time we got to the third dentist, my son was so scared of the shot that he wouldn't open his mouth, and we thought we'd have to put him under general anesthesia. We tried one more time with Dr. Britton, and he did the numbing shot so skillfully that my son still thinks he didn't get one. He didn't feel it at all! Such an improvement! I also like how they handle parents staying with the kids during procedures. Like a lot of dentists, they encourage parents to let the kids go by themselves so they can form a "rapport" with the dentists (I'm not a fan of this idea, usually if a place discourages parents from seeing what they're doing that's considered a parenting red flag) - and five or so years ago when I was here with my older son, the staff kind of gave me a hard time for not leaving him (he was scared and needed coaching to get through his fillings, and I had never met these people before...) I think they must have new staff now. This time they still encouraged the kids to go by themselves, but they were perfectly happy that I went with my son for the first visit, and worked with me the second visit so I didn't feel pressured to leave him before he was settled in and comfortable. I really preferred their attitude and approach this time around, and I saw the same thing with other parents in the waiting room - if the kids were scared, the parents didn't have to feel shamed for going with them. The only problem I have is that sometimes it takes a long time to get an appointment. The first time they got us in the day after I called them, and I was super impressed! Then they got us a filling appointment for the next week, and that was great too. But if we had had to do general anesthesia we would have waited a month, and they've just had to cancel my son's second fillings today (flu, not their fault) and they can't get us in again until the middle of next month (unless someone cancels, we're on the waiting list at least) and I"m worried that his cavities will get worse. I guess that's a problem that good dentists have, but I didn't want to have to wait so long when we've already been going through this process for months. Overall, this is the best place we've found in the whole Knoxville area. P.S. I'd like to add that my three-year-old also ended up with cavities a few months after my first review. This dentist was the first place that ever mentioned that they see a lot of cavities with the toothpaste brand we've always used (Tom's of Maine) - maybe that's why all my kids got cavities no matter how much we brushed and flossed... Anyway, I was worried that they wouldn't be able to get the fillings done on a wiggly three-year-old without sedation, but it was no problem! They got all his cavities filled and he was perfectly happy to go there again, even after the first set of fillings! He wasn't reluctant or upset at all, he likes it there!

The decor itself is so fun, inviting, and kid-friendly. The various activities for the kids while they're waiting....you will be thrilled! Your child will get headphones when it's his or her turn to lie down and will get to pick which age appropriate show to watch while they lie there for their cleaning/procedure. Great experience for my 8 year old, but more importantly my 3 year old who developed a fear of the dentist after his first visit at a different practice. My 3 year old's first visit here went so well I couldn't believe it was the same kid who had fought me at every turn to avoid just opening his mouth. There were no tears and I didn't even have to hold him, which I believe is because it's such a kid friendly environment. The hygienist and Dr. Darryl did not rush through explanations of future treatment or recommendations, but really took the time to make us both at ease. Dr. B saw my 8 year old and also came to find me in a different room so he could explain her progress. It is an hour's drive from our home but well worth the environment and attention we received.

My daughter has been coming to his dentist for about two years now. She is 6. Each time, she has been excited, at ease, and really enjoys her time there. She even had a cavity filled without me by her side and it took maybe 10-15 minutes. Yesterday was my two year old son's first time. For the youngest ones like him, they have a special room with toys and books and even some stuffed animals with teeth that can be brushed! My son was excited to come to the dentist just like his sister but he was a little anxious and didn't want to lie down right away. However, The hygienist was awesome with him. She showed him her tools and got him to laughing and then he did great! We love this dentist office, a place made especially for kids to feel comfortable and even have fun!

We experienced a wonderful "first visit" with Dr. Darryl and Ms. Alicia. Having a great first experience at the dentist can make all the difference for a child with cleft palate. Our son experienced patience from the hygenist as she introduced him to the unfamiliar surroundings. The doctor took his time and gave thoughtful, experienced insight into a treatment plan for our son. We are so thankful to have all the wonderful staff at Children's Dentistry of Knoxville!

Children's Dentistry of Knoxville has been such an amazing blessing to us! My son has Autism and I've never been able to judge how he would handle his visits. The staff is so accommodating and works with us to try and make his visits as positive as possible! We typically schedule at the end of the day after to school and come in an hour before our appointment so he has time to play in the waiting room. They have video games and a movie room and it's not uncommon to see kids come back to play after their appointment! Most kids are able to go back to their visits on their own, but everyone there knows that things go better for everyone when I'm with him and talking him through everything. When we go back, they usually put us in a smaller private room to minimize any distractions and we ALWAYS have Miss Tiffany. She's so kind and patient! They set us up for success!! Dr. Darryl and Dr. B are both amazing! We see Dr. B now that my son is older. The thing I love the most about him is that he doesn't just look at what may need to be done, but he takes into account how my son would handle it. Where other dentists may have pulled my son's stubborn baby teeth ages ago and put him in braces already, Dr. B keeps tabs on them and lets me know what to look for between visits that would make pulling them necessary. He recognizes that my son is slower to mature in so many areas and doesn't rush him into things that he's not mentally prepared to handle unless it's necessary. When he had a cavity that needed to be filled, Dr. B did a wonderful job at trying to keep him calm and working quickly. When my son isn't interested in letting anyone look in his mouth, they're all so patient. They let me know what they need to do, what they want to do, and what would be nice to do, but not necessary. Then we all work together to accomplish as much as we can. We'll often bring a plush doll (or 2) with us to have their teeth checked as well. Dr. B and Miss Tiffany are always ready to work on the plush doll's teeth first while my son watches and keeps them calm before it's his turn. As we were walking to the car after our most recent visit, my son said, "I can't believe I have to wait 6 months!" I asked him what he meant and he said, "I have to wait 6 months before I can come back to the dentists again. I love the dentist!" I can't say enough good things about them!

We absolutely LOVE this dentist office! My child is on the autism spectrum and we searched for years for a dentist office that wasn't uncomfortable with working with him. Keep in mind my child isn't violent and will allow the staff in his mouth after simple talking and an explanation of what they are doing. All other local and not so local dentist offices either saw him and didn't put much of an effort into helping him to be comfortable or flat out rejected him once they were made aware that he had special needs. We are so blessed to have stumbled upon Children's Dentistry of Knoxville. We gladly drive over an hour for appointments every 6 months because we know that EVERY person on staff is respectful, compassionate and extremely friendly and also help my son have a great dentist visit. He actually enjoys going to the dentist and is so much more comfortable now. Thank you Children's dentistry of Knoxville!!

I can't say enough about CDK. I have three children, oldest is laid back but has had some crowding issues since he was little, my middle had cleft palate surgery when he was a toddler, has a strong gag reflex and my youngest can feed off my middle's anxiety. The staff and dentists at CDK are incredible at considering each individual child's needs, keeping me informed and truly helping my children with their oral health, more and more each year.

After a completely terrible experience at another dental office (in Oak Ridge), it was time for a change. What a complete and utter relief it was to find Dr. D and Dr. B! My little guy was at ease from his first visit - no intimidation, no "dental office smell", and no dreariness here. My wife and I agree, this is the finest, most comfortable, pain-free dentist we have ever experienced in our 60+ years of life. He is witty, affable, and very competent. Dr. Britton's work is perfect. In the spirit of full disclosure, we were both Dr Britton's adult patients before he changed his practice to specializing in children, 12 years old and younger. As a father of three, he is perfect for this job as he relates to children very well, even those whom their parents failed to teach any manners. His education credentials go way beyond dental school and he maintains his education in all the latest techniques and treatments. We highly recommend Dr Britton.
